The hotel is within walking distance of the city centre. You can easily walk around the centre of York and see all the attractions of the city with the comfort of the hotel only a few minutes walk away to rest your feet! The room I stayed in was nice and big, a comfy bed and plenty of space to keep you’re bags and cases without falling over them. The car park opposite the hotel was very useful as we didn’t need the car at all and knowing it was secure in a locked car park over night was very reassuring. All in all.
Hayley  — 15.3.2010.
The hotel was very bright, airy and modern. The hotel is only a 5-10min walk into the centre and was extremely convieniant for a city break. The hotel staff were very approachable and friendly and when we ate in the restuarant we were impressed further. We are planning to stay here again should we decide to visit York in the future.
Derek  — 27.4.2011.
I came to York as part of relaxation away from buisness and to get the quietness to work on materials on the laptop. The hotel was amazing stylish quiet and relaxing. The shower was the best I have had in years. Sadly 3nights have passed but I will take this hotel as my 1st choice on my next vacation as I love York.

What a little gem of a hotel, didnt expect great things with the 2 starrating, which is really badly misleading, the gardens greeted you onarrival which were lovely, our deluxe room at the top of the chaplinhouse was really large, with an excellent hospitality tray includingbottled water and biscuits, the staff were friendly, even escorting usto our room, the parking was free and hastle free, and the location wassuperb, 5 mins walk to the city but quiet and peacefull.this hotel wasfar beyond some of the 4 star hotels we’ve stayed in york, and we would100% return in the near future.
Matthew  — 17.11.2010.
The hotel offers excellent value for money. The delux double room we had was nice on par with some much more expensive hotels we have stayed in. The staff were very friendly and on whole this is a nice hotel. To sum up, great location, excellent value for money and a comfortable hotel. Would I use the hotel again? Yes.
Derek  — 18.6.2011.
This is the second time that my partner and I have stayed at the Lady Anne Middletons’s Hotel. It is located just a stones throw from all of Yorks main attractions allowing you to explore York and sample the night life without having a long walk or expensive taxi at the end of the night. Service in the hotel is first class, rooms are clean and the food is great. The lounge/bar area is a lovely place to wind down after a busy day and my partner and I had a wonderful week in York.

The room was very comfortable as were the general areas of the hotel iethe reception area, the lounge bar and the restaurant. Despite therebeing several coach loads of holiday makers staying at the hotel (fiveon one night of my stay) at no time did this detract from the attentionI was given by the restaurant staff whilst having my evening meal. Therestaurant manager (Debbie?) deserves praise for the effecient way allguests (coach trippers and independant travellers) were attended to andmade to feel that they mattered. At all times when speaking to any ofthe hotel staff I was made to feel welc.

Unfirtunately, none of your criteria apply to me as I did not stay at your hotel myself but booked the it for my son and daughter in law who had just got married. I can advise you however that I was quite happy with the way that the booking was taken, my son and daughter in law reported that the accomodation was very good, they were very well treated whilst stoping there, the staff were excellent and the location of the hotel was good for sightseeing York. From their reports I would have no hesitation in using your hotel again or in recommending it to others.

We wanted to visit York to see the city which we had heard so much about from our English friends. And they were right the Cathedral and the old shopping are of York are definitely worth seeing As far as the hotel was concerned it central to the city very clean and the staff were more than helpful. We would recommend the hotel to any visitor to York.

We have been home only 5 days. We were kept at the hotel for about lhour because our credit cars were declined. We were told not to leave the hotel even though we had a trainbooked to travel on. We have checked with Mastercard since coming homeand told it was not the Australian end but that it must have been theQueen Hotel bank. This hotelwilll not be recommended to our friends who often travel abroad and likerecommendations about good places to stay.
James  — 19.10.2010.
We booked very late just for 1 night and were given a room overlooking a street with some traffic. Despite the late booking the staff kindly managed to change our room to the another side of the hotel. The breakfast was very good. We did not otherwise dine at the hotel. The staff in general were friendly and polite.Had a short interesting discussion with the desk staff about the pros and cons of hotel evaluations. As a customer I think them useful although many comments have to be taken with a pinch of salt. In this case the many positive evaluations of this hotel concur with mine.
Heather  — 27.7.2010.
We have stayed at the Queens Hotel York twice now and will stay there again when we next go to York. The hotel is by the river, well positioned for museums, shopping and ease of getting anywhere on foot. We travelled by train and walked the distance from station to hotel in 5 minutes. the hotel has lovely rooms, friendly staff, a good breakfast and fulfilled all our needs.

Everything, the choice of breakfast and the different prices according to your choice. The very comfortable bed and the excellent good size of the towels. All the staff were very helpful and accommodating and I would certainly use this hotel again if staying in York. It is in easy walking distance of York centre and to be able to park the car and not worry about it was a bonus.

The hotel is close to the train station, but we got a taxi and it only cost L6 for a people carrier. The hotel did exactly what we wanted and we went to loads of touristy places. Could also recommend Harkers in St Helens square for food and drink and fab prices! York is a beautiful place saturated in history!.

We liked the ambience of the hotel, - it is an old building with steep stairs and creaky floors! It has been given a ’black and white’ 50’s american film theme. We didn’t have breakfast, so we cannot comment about that. Parking was available, and we took advantage of this and travelled into York on the Park and Ride bus service. York centre is about 10 minutes walk away, so is manageable if y.
