The hotel, clearly signposted, provided a very convenient and quietlocation, in a lovely part of the country, on our way south fromScotland returning to East Anglia. An excellent breakfast which set usup for a day's visit to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park which is veryclose by. The ensuite rooms were comfortably and adequately presented. The hotel staff were very helpful and obliging.

The hotel is well located for The Hepworth in Wakefield and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. All the staff were very friendly and professional;a credit to Yorkshire. Perhaps more could be made of the close proximity to the Hepworth. It’s what enticed us to your excellent hotel.

I stayed in the old Walton Hall part of the hotel complex, and while inplaces it may be a little dated and quirky, it is generally a delightand I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are individual andoften spacious, and will depend on how they were customised, given thatthis was not designed as an hotel originally (I. Generally I can not praise this hotel highly enough. As a regular hotel user in Wakefield it is outstanding.
Helen  — 11.7.2011.
We went to a wedding at waterton park and decided to stay the night. The hotel was beautiful location, ideal for such an intimate wedding. I’ve worked and stayed in many hotels and this has to be in the top 5. It feels like your staying over in a friends country house.

The hotel consisted of two buildings, one of which was in a greatsetting in the middle of the lake. It was lovely to look at and walkover to. We enjoyed the cooked breakfast and the staff were firendly andhelpful. It was a good spot for the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the Hepworth-Wakefield museum being no more than 20 mins away from both.

This was my second stay at the hotel during May. I also liked the fact that there is a large car park at the rear of the hotel, and that the hotel is within walking distance of the City. The first impressions of the hotel are very good due the neatness of the gardens, both front and rear. There is also plenty of furniture in the rear garden for use of guests, which is a very nice feature.
Thaddeus  — 20.6.2011.
The staff was wonderful! So nice and accomidating. We also were upgraded to a room with a bathroom instead of a shared bathroom outside our room. The breakfast in the morning was very good and made to order and the chef was very friendly as well. This is a very nice privately run hotel about ten minutes walk from the center of York!.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful. The new owner of the hotel is renovating the hotel as a whole. We were shown a room which was refurbished. So hopefully for our next travel the hotel would be in excellent condition.
