We stayed for 2 nights and ww were welcomed into the family home by theowners. They live in a beautifully decorated contemporary property andour room was located in the top floor, very comfortable, lovely viewsand a fantastic en suite bathroom. Breakfast was in the family diningarea so it enabled us to chat to the owners whilst they cooked ourdelicious breakfast. There was plenty of choice on the menu. Sharon is agreat host and very helpful. Location wise, it is about 10 miles fromthe city of Bath so only a short drive in, and close to the othervillages and places of interest. Some good pubs nearby too! Definitelyto be recommended

We arrived late to this inn, in the quiet village of Hilperton and we're warmly received and quickly shown to our light and airy room and we had cups of tea brewed in no time, with proper fresh milk. We had already eaten on our journey which was a shame as the restaurant menu here looked particularly inviting! The weather was muggy, but the large sash window allowed a lovely refreshing cool breeze. The room was large and clean, and equipped with a flat screen TV, hairdryer, good supply of soaps, shampoos, shower gels, towels etc. After a solid night sleep well enjoyed an excellent breakfast of tea and coffee, cereals, fresh fruit and a large full English cooked breakfast which set us up well to complete our journey that day. After a pleasant chat with the engaging proprietor, we both shared a passion for rugby, we congratulated ourselves for choosing such a pleasant venue! Would happily stay here again, when passing through this picturesque region.

We received a very warm welcome from the bar staff on our arrival midevening. They knew exactly who we were and which room we were in. Thefood was also served in a fast and attentive manner whilst we enjoyed alocal pint of bitter and house white wine at very sensible prices. Our room was spacious and the fixtures and fittings to a good standard. The full english breakfast was very well cooked and presented. We found the accommodation excellent value for money and would return if ever in the area again.
David  — 24.2.2012.

The location is magical - you drive through Salisbury in ever-decreasingcircles, then suddenly find yourselves in the middle of the countryside! The sound from the mill race is a constant soothing background, thebuilding is full of old-world charm, the room was very comfortable, andthe whole atmosphere is very welcoming. A 15-minute walk across watermeadows dominated by the view of the cathedral, with sheep grazing, takes you to the middle of Salisbury in the most delightful wayimaginable. We would certainly stay there again.

The walk into town along the river with sheepgrazing was beautiful and only took 10 minutes. The staff were veryfriendly and accommodating.

Friendly and helpful staff. Location of hotel, great for walking aroundClifton area of Bristol - Clifton village, Downs, over the Suspensionbridge, along the tow path and through the woods, golf course over thebridge. Comfortable room - good size. Bathroom very clean. Bed was onlya double but was comfortable. Breakfast was good - cooked full Englishserved to the table rather than help yourself at buffet but that wasfine. Got seated easily and no delays - unlike other higher rated hotelswe have stayed in. Only 3 star hotel and we normally aim for 4 star butwould definitely stay again. Didn't have dinner in the hotel as so manynice restaurants in Clifton to choose from. Used the pub which adjoinsthe hotel as weather was lovely and it has a big patio area overlookingthe gorge. It was very busy but noticed that using our hotel charge cardat bar seemed to get the attention of the bar staff.
Charles  — 22.11.2011.
Loved the hotel and its gorgeous views. We had a corner room which waslarge with windows that opened on two sides. It had a sofa so we couldaccess our luggage since we were travelling in the uk for 14 days. Wearrived by train and used taxis to and from the hotel. We went into townthe first nite by walking and took the taxi back. A bit far to walk. Thebreakfast buffet was included with our room price and it was fantastic. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. We loved the huge deckand enjoyed drinking a pint and socializing with the locals. The onlyproblem is the restaurants near the hoteI close early. I woulddefinitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

My room was very comfortable with a view of the Avon Gorge. There are a range of restaurants and bars and you can eat on the large terrace which has stunning views of the Suspension Bridge especially at night when it is illuminated. I thoroughly recommend The Avon Gorge Hotel and look forward to my next stay with my family.

We stayed in the Azalea room which was quite delightful. It was at thetop of the older section of the hotel at the top of a quaint staircasewith no landing. The sitting room was small but enough for the two of usand the bed was situated up a few more stairs in a loft typearrangement. The shower was the absolute best we had encountered in theuk and was separate to the bath - unusual in our experience. BeautifulMolton Brown products in the bathroom and books by English authors onthe bookshelf above the bed. The terrace, gardens and pool were wellcared for and a dream English countryside escape for two weary Aussietravellers. The staff was helpful and welcoming on arrival, the porterwho helped get the suitcases up the stairs was amiable and the waitstaff most attentive. I highly recommend this hotel.
James  — 10.11.2011.
The Bath Priory is a small luxury hotel - very similar to a country house, but within 20 mins walk of Bath town centre. There were comfortable lounges decorated with numerous paintings, fresh flowers, deep sofas with lots of newspapers and magazines to peruse. In fine weather you can sit on the terrace overlooking the beautiful back garden. The service hit exactly the right balance of formality and friendly - putting you at ease and helping you to relax. The food was fabulous - beautifully cooked and well presented. The spa is small but with so much to see and do in Bath I didn't spend much time there. It was lovely to have a swim and sauna at the end of a tiring day.
Ruth  — 23.12.2011.
Hotel staff had it right. Attentive but not in you face and intrusive. Our room was large, we had a superior room, lovely bath room. Spafacilities were lovely too. Not crowded and quiet and relaxing! Thehotel have thought of everything. From towels for spa to fluffy robes inyour room. I especially liked the shoes provided for the the spa andoutdoor areas. The surround of the indoor pool can be a little slippery, but the shoes stop that! The grounds are beautiful with nooks andcrannies to hide yourself away with a good book before having a quickdip in the warm outside pool. Nice!

Quiet, relaxing, free wi-fi The staff were virtual (on-line) - it is anautomated hotel; this was not a problem and they were extremely helpful.Parking was secure - one had to book the parking space (only 4 spaces incar park) but again this was not a problem, and parking was behindremote control garage doors; I would have been happy leaving the car inneighbourhood, but difficult to find place to park on road
Anonymous  — 25.12.2011.
The hotel provides excellent value. The fridge in the room is veryuseful and the kitchen well equipped. The room was quite small butadequate for a short stay and it was very clean. Also much quieterlocation than the more expensive city centre hotels and only a 10 minutewalk to the harbour bars and restaurants. I would recommend this hotelto others.

Hotel was ok - we chose it as 10 minutes from my family. We were in adeluxe room and thought still rather basic, and quite expensive howeverI suppose it is a major city. Nice and clean and bed comfortable. Nocoffee facilities in the room however the little kitchen downstairs wasvery handy.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. For me though the biggest plus was the proximity of the hotel to the Bristol Royal Infirmary where my husband is currently a patient. Have you ever considered reserving a few rooms for friends/relatives of patients at the BRI as there is no on site accommodation in the main hospital and some people have to travel quite far?
David  — 26.11.2011.
The hotel's location is pretty good. Broadmead/Cabot Circus is just across the road. There's a nice Chinese restaurant/takeaway around the corner, literally a 60 second walk. The rooms are spotless and newly renovated. good selection of TV stations if you feel like staying in. Friendly staff also.
Brian  — 9.1.2012.
The peace and quiet I asked for was brilliant even in the middle of Bristol, they allocated me a room on the 15th floor! Fantastic didnt hear a thing! Also we had to stay on in Bristol for an extra night, which was quickly and efficiently dealt with no probs at all. Definately stay there again.
