We had a nice welcome when we arrived. The room was bright and clean throughout. Nice and quiet. The staff were very helpful. Plenty of choice for breakfast. We were lucky with the weather so we walked to the Kings Head Hotel for evening meals. We sat out in the beer garden and had basket meals which we enjoyed, then walked back to the Lodge, it took 20mins. We had a really lovely time and will be back again.

We were mountain biking in the Lakes for the weekend. The hotel wasperfect - clean, warm, lashings of hot water and somewhere dry to storethe bikes. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful ( a problemwith the shower was sorted within minutes). The continental breakfastwas very good indeed. We would not hesitate to stay again if biking orwalking. Highly recommended.
Lorraine  — 26.1.2012.
The hotel is set in a nice area, however there is nothing close by,thereis a pub about half a mile away, but is not safe enough to walk on theroad because of heavy traffic. The hotel does sell bottled beer andwine,no resturant ,only snacks. Our room was very small, would notrecomend you stayfor more than two nights.

Main reason for stay was the Carlisle Records Office (about 5 mins away). The building retains it’s high ceilings, ornate plaster mouldings, tiled floor and large staircase and has not had the character ripped out of it. Room was clean and tidy and had all the facilities we needed. Staff are very welcoming and friendly and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable.
Jason  — 2.9.2010.
We were left feeling very welcome, the staff were friendly, professional and informative at all times. The whole feel of the hotel was inviting. As an extra note we would like to say a massive thank you to everyone there. We stayed at a much more expensive hotel the night after as part of a wedding party and in comparison but the pinegrove was by far better.

The hotel was close to the train station, clean, and the food was good. The night before I was due to leave for Edinburgh, I received an email saying there was a problem with my reservation for the next three nights. Sara worked with me first thing in the morning while fixing breakfast for the other guest to make sure Hotels. com got me anot.
Mark  — 2.3.2011.
Most definately the friendliness and helpfulness of the managers Rob &Sarah. They were very kind and took the time to chat to us about thelocal area and where is good to visit, eat, drink etc. The Spa which isonly a short drive was also a really nice touch to the holiday as well. All in all, had a great time and would definately go back.
