The hotel was very welcoming and we felt comfortable from the moment we walked in. We ate in the bar and the food was excellent and felt home cooked. The room was very nice although the bath was on the small side but the shower was very good. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming stay.
Neil  — 14.3.2010.
From the front of the hotel it looks nice but inside I found the hotel very tatty. As regards to the detail of a swimming pool -this was filthy and I would not go in. --very poor experience with standards expected with Best Western. -----along way from St Austell and other facilities.

This was our first visit to the Carlyon Bay hotel. We wanted a hotel fora short weekend break to meet up with some old friends. We could not havechosen a better hotel ,Not only was the quality of the food and thevariety first class it was served by very friendly and effiecientstaff. Our room with a sea view was spotless and maintained that waythroughout our stay. The Hotel provided my wife and I with a mostrelaxing and enjoyable weekend and we shall have no hesitation inreccomending it to all our friends. We look forward to our next visit, hopefully not to long to wait. Our thanks and congratulations to all thestaff for a job well done.
Beatrice  — 5.12.2011.
We had not brought a car and visited St. Austell specifically to visit the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The location was good, and we used a very efficient taxi service between points of interest. Our room was very comfortable, and the beds and pillows were perfect, which is not always the case even at a 5 star hotel. Our dinner was excellent and the service very friendly. I would certainly stay at the Carlyon Bay hotel on any future visit and I thoroughly recommend it. It was no less good than any 5 star hotel I've stayed in.
Margi  — 15.1.2012.
Attractive accommodation throughout hotel - lovely spacious lounges, bar. Optional dining in 'TASTE' the brasserie, for more informal dress. Staff were very welcoming, approachable and happy to help - great breakfast. Location in quiet residential area very upmarket. Pleasant walks nearby with fabulous views to sea. We used the spa facilities - well equipped, peaceful and very few people around while we were there I would definitely recommend the hotel and would love to return at some point

We stayed at this hotel in October. The location was very good forvisiting the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and variousNational Trust properties. Our room was spacious, cosy and comfortable.Breakfasts were generally good. The dinner menu was varied and some ofthe dishes were excellent although fish dishes were slightly overcooked. There was a good selection of real ales too! We would recommend thishotel to anyone requiring a good, central base for visiting the localtourist attractions.
Jane  — 6.11.2011.
It was a really lovely hotel, the staff couldn't do enough for you andthe service was excellent, even to changing our duvet to a lighter onewhen it got really warm.Meals were good and portions excellent. Therestaurant was always very busy Decor in the bedrooms was beautiful.Thehotel is very eco conscious with recycling facilities in each room.Lovely setting overlooking the village with parking for residentsalthough the car park is very uneven cobble stones.

A truly lovely 4-days stay in a magnificent 18th century building. The room was excellent; the whole hotel is an experience by itself! Staff were extraordinary and went to great lengths to help me with everything (like for ex. The hotel’s spa is great, especially the jacuzzi. The food in the restaurant was marvellous and again, staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Everyone that we met at the White Hart Hotel were polite and very helpful. The breakfasts were very good and set us up for the day we lasted out until the evening meal,We chose this hotel because it was so close to the trains and busesand we wanted to visit the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens. My wifes maiden name was Rashleigh so we could see some of her ancestors at Turo and Charlestown.
Anonymous  — 25.7.2010.
The Hotel was very well situated for the Town Centre shops. It had it’s own restaurant which was very good but was within easy walkind distance of other pubs/restaurants. It was ideally situated for our trip to the Eden Project and we saw several other hotel guests at the Eden Project on the day we visited. One of the main reasons for chossing this hotel was the free wi-fi.

This was a high quality apartment which was very clean. Very spaciousaccomodation with all the facilities we required. Parking was on site soeasy to get in and out and acces to major routes and the local town ofSt Austell was also excellent. Although not very close to the coast, probably a couple of miles in the car, this is still an apartment Iwould recommend.

The apartment was very well equipped for a relatively long family holiday, us being two adults and two children. The apartment is kept tidy and nice, and we did not really miss anything relevant.

Linda  — 7.12.2011.
We received a very warm welcome even though we arrived late at night. Icould not fault the breakfast which was served with a cheerful smile..The room was spotless, we asked to look at the other rooms as we wereinterested if we were to stay again. All the rooms were spotlesslyclean and very tastefully decorated. I wished we had chosed the fourposter bedroom as this was beautiful. The owners were very happy togive advice on the local area and made us feel at home. This was farbetter than some of the hotels I had stayed at (have never used a b&Bbefore). Overall excellant and we would definately stay again ifvisiting the area.
Anonymous  — 8.2.2012.
The welcome that we received from Barbara was extremely warm and friendly. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. The setting was great, near to the station and you can walk into St Austell in less than 15 minutes. The breakfast was excellent and both Barbara and Michael were fantastic hosts. Nice and small and intimate with only 4 rooms with the personal & professional touch right at the top of the list. Would definitely recommend and stay there again!
Roger  — 18.11.2011.
Very welcoming hosts, Michael and Barbara, for whom nothing is too muchtrouble. Always keen to ensure your stay is going to be as comfortableas possible. Cleanliness is outstanding and the food is exceptional fora b&B. A two course dinner for £12.50 is excellent value. While we werethere Michael was collecting two elderly guests and also taking them toThe Eden Project the next day. Such service for a b&B. Our room wassmall but served its purpose for a three night stay.
