Located in the heart of the ancient town of Rye, by the 13th Century Land Gate, this hotel offers free car parking, Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna and Champagne Bar. Rye Lodge Hotel is the only hotel in the town which has its own leisure centre. All the facilities in the Venetian Leisure Centre are free of charge and are for the exclusive use of guests staying at Rye Lodge Hotel. On entering Rye follow Town Centre signs past Rye Station on left Budgens Superstore on right. After about another of a mile still following Town Centre Signs you will pass through The Landgate, an old Stone Arch built in 1326 (Ancient Monument) then after about 100 yards you will find Rye Lodge Hotel on your right a prominent red brick building with green and white striped window blinds and a prominent flag pole with Union Flag flying. Activities / Services: Parking, Room Service, Bar, Laundry, Free Parking, Hiking, Packed Lunches, Luggage Storage, Wi-Fi/Wireless LAN, Indoor Swimming Pool ... No town in England captures the atmosphere of medieval England more than Rye, with its cobbled streets and picturesque Tudor and Elizabethan period houses which have been lovingly preserved over the centuries.

Excellent location! Central Rye with car parking - brilliant. Did’nt eat at hotel (no evening meals) but luxury day time offers if interested. Lovely room (no lifts but service with luggage on arrival and probably on leaving if requested. ) Right in the centre of Rye.

Hotel is in an ideal location and setting for a stay in Rye being very central with panoramic views out over adjacent countryside. Hotel is very comfortable and relaxing although in need of a little updating. We enjoyed a very light room with windows to three aspects. Hotel has it’s own car park which is a significant plus in a congested town such as Rye.
Paul  — 26.12.2010.
A pretty and welcoming hotel, well situated for walking around Rye. Adequate car parking, which is a definate bonus in the centre of Rye. Free loan of umbrellas for guests was a nice touch but, thankfully, not required on our visit. Would certainly visit again.

The George is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. The location on one of the main streets in Rye is ideal. There is real attention to detail at this hotel, from the selection of tea in the bedrooms through to the variety on the breakfast menu. We were really pleased with our last minute decision to visit Rye and this hotel.

A uniquely historic hotel on the most picturesque street in Rye. We weregrateful for the chance to stay in such a rare and beautiful building. The staff were very friendly and helpful (and great with our three yearold even though there weren’t many children in evidence), happily beingdisturbed from their work to tell us about the history of the hotel, show us the Priest Hole in the fireplace and talk about local beachesand places of interest.
Margaret  — 5.10.2010.
The location and history of the hotel made our short break so interesting. We loved the tapestries, paintings, the fireplaces, the panelled wood and the antique furniture, all of which created such a wonderful atmosphere. We had a super evening meal and a very good breakfast and found all of the staff charming. The hotel had been recommended to us by several friends and members of our family and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Wondeful chill out stay which was ideal for my husband and I. We stayed 2 nights. Liked the Hotel v much, ideal for shopping and lovely restaurants, just a step outside the front door. The bed was v comfortable, although the George is right on the High St it is v quiet at night, and you do get a lovely nights sleep. Ideal location for Camber & Hastings. Flat shoes recommended as the cobbles are not always easy to walk on. Rye is steeped in History so a v interesting place to visit. I loved the quaint shops, and lovely tea shops. Highly recommeded. Thank you for the upgrade. We will return. Ei.
