From the outside the hotel did not give me confidence that I would havea pleasant stay. However, when I entered I found a very extensive andwell kept bar and on being taken to my room I was surprised by the freshand clean decoration in the hallways and stairs. The room itself wasexcellent and the bathroom was much better than the average. I wouldrecommend this hotel. Good for business and not far from Bath and thesurrounding countryside.

The room was very good and also breakfast was very good too! We found the hotel very convenient as our daughter and family live just up the hill and we were attending our grand daughters christening but unable to stay with our daughter as she had other family guests staying. Would definitely stay there again. Hotel does not look very special from outside but the room was lovely.

We were very impressed with the size of the room & the four poster bed!A large en-suite bathroom. We ate at the hotel and the food was alsoexcellent and very good value for money. Overall for a late booking at areduced price we could not have chosen better. The hotel bar is verymuch a locals haunt but the atmosphere was very friendly.

We chose a hotel that we hoped would be central to the many areas ofinterest in Sommerset. A hotel that we could return at the end of theday, have a nice shower, sit and have a relaxing drink before theevening meal. All this wasprovided. Within the first two days of our stay we experienced veryminor problems with the catering and took this up with the management -they were very sympathetic and immiediately dealt with our.
Frederic  — 13.11.2010.
Very quiet location, easy access to the golf course. In fact, the golf course extends to the retaurant terrace. Indoor pool in spa facilities were very clean - much cleaner than many other hotel I have stayed at.

It was a very welcoming place and the staff could not have been morecharming and willing to assist. I had not expected the food to be quiteso fabulous. I had the most fantastic supper, a real gourmet treat -excellent quality food and a good range of wines. Breakfast was great, and the jams were home made. I had the twin room, which was very cosyand had a spotless en suite. A real unexpected delight.
Joanna  — 3.12.2011.
Staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The food wassuperb as was the relaxed ambience. Think chunky wooden tables, roaringfire and flickering candles. I would highly recommend this place to stayor just to eat.

The Inn is in a small village in the middle of the Wiltshire countryside. A lovely, quiet setting. A very good standard of food, particularly the cooked breakfast, using locally sourced, fresh ingredients. A plentiful supply of tea and coffee available in room with home made biscuits. A really, really comfortable bed. The best I have found after many similar breaks. Hotel proprietors were friendly but not intrusive and responded very professionally when we rejected a bottle of wine on first tasting at dinner on our first night. (something we have never done before!).
Robert  — 30.11.2011.
It is a charming old country pub/inn. It has lots of old world characterwhich we really liked, low ceilings with small windows and old exposedwooden beams. It was lovely place to have dinner and breakfast thefollowing morning in the cosy dining area. Food was very good withvaried menu. We liked the feel of the place and the way it was part of asmall village. The lady who owns/runs the place was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. I would stay there again.

The staff were all lovely. Really welcoming and helpful. Our room was astandard room at the top of the house. Because it is a listed buildingin Bath, there is no lift so the stairs were an absolute killer and verynarrow at the top. Our room had a slanted roof and very small window sofelt a little cramped. The hot water bottles left on our bed were a nicetouch. Nice bathroom with a good powerful shower which unfortunatelyoverflowed a bit. However, we were there for the rugby so did not spenda lot of time in the hotel. They have a nite club which opens late(unusual for the uk) and is not full of youngsters. Breakfast iscontinental except for weekends but is very good.Hotel reception deskcould do with a facelift, awful mirrors behind the desk give a bad firstimpression.Overall though, a good hotel with great staff. But thestairs, nightmare!

The staff at the Halcyon were excellent. Welcoming charming and very friendly - probably the best attention and service I have ever experienced in any hotel I have stayed (and I have stayed at quite a few!). The showers are the best hotel showers ever! Breakfast was nice and relaxing with a good selection. The hotel has a new bar downstairs which has a cool and contemporary feel with an excellent drinks menu and great cocktails - a great place to unwind and chill out. Great location with the centre of Bath just a stones throw away and a 5 minute walk from the railway station.Good hotel for a brief city break.

The Halcyon is a large boutique hotel,a fantastic central location with beautifully decorated rooms. Our standard room was bijou but perfectly equipped for our overnight stay and being on the 3rd floor, very quiet. The hotel staff were very friendly and courtious and the basement bar was both stylish with a comprehensive choice of beverages, both alcoholic and non.On the front terrace,it was a joy to watch the world go by while enjoying our drinks on a perfect sunny day....very enjoyable.I especially liked the Birthday card given to me by the hotel staff...what a lovely touch,
