A beautiful, historic house lovingly converted into a small hotel. Staff are veryhelpful, the rooms are gorgeous. Really lovely stay. Heartily recommendthis hotel.

The hotel is a delightful old building set in beautiful gardens. I arrived late the first night and was made very welcome. The food on the second night was very nice and 3 real ales on offer in bottles was a treat. Why don’t other hotels do this? I would recommend the local Jail Ale.

This hotel has lots of character and charm. We were given a comfortable atmospheric room and enjoyed a very high standard cuisine in the restaurant, plus very friendly welcome from the owner and waitressing staff. One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at.

We booked in to break our journey down to West Cornwall on a Bank Holiday weekend. It was the most cosy and comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in - and I’ve stayed in some smart hotels. So we had a great nights sleep and woke refreshed. The cooked breakfast was also excellent - lots of fresh loca.

Richard and Dawn are a lovely couple and made us feel very welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definately stay here again. Its close to Ashbury Golf complex so if your a keen golfer this hotel is ideal. The Fairway Lodge is a lovely place to stay.

Proximity to the city centre is good though that actual locaiton is less so - the two multi storey carparks which loom over it are handy though. The room I stayed in was fine for a pub room, perhaps less so for a hotel, which is where the pricing puts it. My two poached eggs for breakfast were perfectly cooked but the plastic white bread toast was a let-down. Overall, 'fine' just about does it - which compared with the pretty poor standard of the great majority of accommodation options in England, and in the south-west in particular, makes it a slighting grudging keeper.

Room was quiet and comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the cooked breakfast was very enjoyable! The noon check out time was good as sometimes they can be too early if you've been out the night before and as we'd been at a party hosted at the hotel it was a nice start to the day and gave us time to relax and enjoy our breakfast even more without feeling rushed.

Hotel is very convenient for the city centre and parking is easy at the multi-storey just nearby. Staff were friendly, and room was comfortable. Bed in particular was very comfy, and breakfast was fine. Best of all, the hotel is only a very short walk from the city centre and the cathedral.
