We spent two nights at Underwood House and we honestly cannot fault a single thing. On one of the nights, we were the only guests staying in the hotel so the staff decided to have a family barbecue. They invited us along and kept us very well fed and watered! A nice touch we thought :) The hotel itself and its surroundings are beautiful, very picturesque. We will defin.

The hotel had a lovely location with plenty of walks all around the property. The added bonus was the swimming pool with lovely warm water and great views over the patio and gardens. A perfect break and we will definately be booking again. The staff were also very friendly and helpful and all in all it was one of the best hotels we have stayed at in the Lake District.

The staff are so friendly and had time to talk to you even though they are busy. Great location to visit whitehaven, lake windermere, lake coniston, Millom town centre, Kendal (K Village), Bowness. I would strongly recommend this Hotel. You would not be disappointed.

From our arrival until we left the staff were cheerful, courteous, attentive and helpful. The hotel was spotless and really comfortable. Really big sandwiches for a late lunch on our second day - not for the faint hearted! Loved the drench shower in our room. A lovely weekend break, we would definitely stay there again if we went back to Lancaster.

The hotel is within quarter of a mile of rail station and minutes from the hospital. As I was visiting the hospital on the following day, I found the hotel perfectly located. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the hotel was clean.

The location of the hotel is superb, the setting is beautiful right on the edge of lake windermere with the watersports centre just opposite the hotel. We really enjoyed the kayaking and also used the spa facilities within the hotel complex. The outdoor hot tub was lovely, great for relaxing after a day on the fells! Ambleside or Bowness are a walk or short drive away so we could easily visit local attractions from the hotel. Breakfast was lovely each day, lots to choose from and we had a lovely view over the lake as we ate! Our room was located next to the japanese gardens, it was clean and a.

The hotel is beautiful and very relaxing the bedrooms are a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and nothing was a bother to them we had a meal in the restaurant which was very nice the service was a little slow but that was understandable as the hotel was full to capacity being easter weekend. The only fault we have is that we didnt stay for 2 nights our next visit will definetly be for the weekend as we didnt get to use all the great facitlies like the pool and hot tub which looked brilliant.

Although my checkin procedure was a bit delayed, the attitude of thereception was excellent and positive. The leisure was relaxand user friendly too. The hotel accommodation was nice and comfortable. The stay was enjoyable and I shall always consider to book the same the hotel in my future visit to Lake District.

We chose the location so that we would be near the Lune Valley cycle path and spent a very pleasant day cycling to the Crook of Lune and back. Our accommodation in the main building - we had a studio apartment - was great. The decor was up to date and the room was clean. The kitchenette contained everything you would need including complimentary washing up liquid, dish wash tablets, cloths, t towels - no need to bring anything apart from food an.

Our apartment was bright and clean and modern. We didn’t eat at the restaurant so can’t comment on that. In fact, we were only in the main building to check in and out as our apartment was round the other end of the grounds. Had a sofa (which was a double sofabed), 2 chairs and flat screen TV in living room, dining table and 4 chairs, open plan kitchen, bathroom with ba.

The comfort and quality of the rooms, which were in the form of a two bedroomed ,two bathroomed apartment with an open plan living area/kitchen was outstanding. The surroundings were very tranquil and relaxing and we felt we were on a retreat, yet we were only 5 miles from the centre of Lancaster. We are already planning to return as it is ideal for a family to use as a base to explore the region. It was fabulous va.

The room was clean with wonderful views. The hotel was very close to the centre of Ambleside (5 minutes walk). There are bus stops for the Stagecoach 555 service to Windermere and Keswick just a few metres from the front of the hotel. I had to leave early (7 AM) on my last morning and was able to settle my account on the previous evening and pay in Australian dollars with my credit card.

A great place to stay at a really reasonable price. The rooms were spacious and it was nice to have a bath as most of the b and b’s in Ambleside have only showers. Location not too bad, a very short (5 mins) brings you into the village. It is also directly opposite The Log House, which happens to be in my opinion the nicest place to eat around that area.

It was our first time at the rothay garth we know the area well and hadpassed this hotel many times before we could not get booked at the hotelwe usualy stay at & thought we would try the rothay garth out I am gladwe tried the rothay garth as we liked it better than where we usualystay we will definatly be going back to stay at the rothay garth hotelthe staff were good and informitave we recived a warm welcome and thestaff always had a ginuine smile and nothing was to much truble oreffort to them well done all at the rothay garth.

We would not hesitate to stay there again, nor to recommend theRothay Garth. A great breakfast - everything on the plate was delicious.
