We loved the White Swan - staff were friendly, room comfortable, breakfast very good, brasserie relaxed with good food and wine. And we loved the location, right on the square of the beautiful little town of Middleham, with all the racehorses clip-clopping by in the morning on the way to the Low Moor and their morning exercise. The castle is magnificent, and you can walk right from the door into glorious countryside. It’s a good base for exploring further into the Dales but you could spend a happy time right there.
Susan  — 17.7.2011.
Our room overlooked the village square with the castle in the background - stunning scenery. It had a lovely bar with log fire. The racehorses passed by each morning for their morning run, quite a sight to see. The food in the bistro was great , really good standard.
Robert  — 18.6.2010.
If you book a room overlooking the market square, you can see all the race horses come past in the morning on their way to the gallops on the moor. The hotel is in the heart of the village - very comfortable and welcoming,.

Middleham is famous for it's racehorses and several stables that surrond the village. There are also a number of castles and abbeys surronding Middleham but Middleham Castle itself was home to Richard llV. The Bull Inn is perfect base for families, with Forbidden Corner is just two miles away from Middleham, this has proven to be very popular with kids and adults of all ages! However, we are also perfect for a quiet get-a-way as there is very rarely a lot of traffic that goes through the village. We had a beautiful room at the front of the hotel, as the hotel is in a very mixed suburban environment, we thought we had made a big mistake booking this hotel, and were ready for the worse however, this hotel is a real hidden gem, friendly staff, great breakfast, and really close to town centre for restaurants. Would stay again no problem.
Lou  — 4.8.2010.
We normally stay in one of the larger hotels in Harrogate, However we were highly delighted with the Grafton Hotel and preferred the intimacy of this smaller and perfect little gem. Look forward to returning.

My fiance and booked just one night at the Ascot House Hotel but would loved to have stayed longer. Parking on site was a bonus because its not always possible with city hotels. We spent the day in Harrogate (just a short walk away) and ate in the hotel restaurant that evening. All in all our stay was a very pleasant one and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

The owner was very nice and friendly. It was not like a four star hotel but rather a family home. The price was reasonable and I would recommend it. You really feel at home with the owner and the staff ( the waiter ) was polite and the service was quick I had breakfast only as I had to attend a meeting at Harrogate and the owner gave me a map of Harrogate which looked complicated so she herself drew a map showing me how to get ther.
John  — 13.5.2010.
Hotel could be described as "cosy but a little careworn" and in need ofupdating. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was excellent evenif the service was a bit haphazard. For exploring Harrogate it was in anexcellent location and all in all represents good value for money.
Terence  — 14.7.2010.
A very modern way of booking and checking in and out, staff hardly required. The hotel is in a prime position for town. The room was excellent and I would reccomend the Hotel to anyone.

The B&B was excellent value for money. I did, however, nearly cancel after reading the reviews, however as I couldn’t get anywhere cheaper decided to risk it and I’m glad I did. I don’t think the reviews do this B&B any justice - for the price, I couldn’t ask for more. Thanks.

Dear Sir/madam, Thank you for the opportunity to make comments. This wasthee worst ’hotel’ we have ever stayed in. I have nothing positiveto say about this establishment. Advice to the proprietor would be ’stayout of the hotel business’.
Andrew  — 10.12.2010.
Cosy hotel well situated. Hotel is a bit tired but very clean. The hotel is wonderfully positioned ie easy walk to the restaurants. Would definitely go there again for a cheap break.

It should be advertised as bed/breakfast definately not a hotel & should not be advertised as one. we waited 10 minutes in reception area for someone to come hense then having to phone a number to get them to come which was another 5 mins wait, the room was not ready until 4pm that day which i found apalling as we were on a business trip to the Bridal show across the road they did acomodate us by taking our bags in. it is surposed to be a hotel and hotel rooms are ready from 11am.
