Set in 5 acres of wood land over looking Lynmouth the Tors Hotel is ideally situated to enjoy a relaxing break. The views from the hotel are breathtaking, yet it is just a short 5 minute walk into the heart of the village and all it has to offer. Nestled against the rugged Exmoor coastline and set in 5 acres of its own wooded grounds, The Tors Hotel overlooks the picturesque harbour of Lynmouth and provides one of the most striking views the North Devon coast has to offer.

The location of The Tors Hotel is absolutely superb, high up on Countisbury Hill overlooking Lynmouth Bay with stunning views. My Bristol boarding school was evacuated to Lynmouth during WWII and the senior school was located at The Tors Hotel and the junior school at the Manor House below on the beach. From the age of 7-10 I was at the Manor House, but we came up to The Tors for art classes. I have very fond memories of toboganning down Countisbury Hill on tin trays during the snowy winter of 1945, when the staff had to trudge up to Lynton to fetch bread and milk because of no deliveries. As a walker/rambler I thorougly enjoyed walking up to Watersmeet one day on this visit and to the Valley of Rocks and beyond to Woody Bay another day. It was a really lovely short break. The meals at the hotel were excellent and the manager went beyond the call of duty by picking us up from the car park on arrival and returning us to the Lynton car park on departure. It was extremely kind of

Superb cooking - best I can remember for many years - and always a goodchoice at dinner. Wonderful staff - which means all staff from the mostsenior to the humblest servant - absolutely nothing too much trouble forthem. Wonderful views from the front of the hotel (and my room) overLynmouth and the Bristol Channel. The hotel is situated on a hillsideamong trees and wildflowers. The birdsong was far better than one wouldexpect at a shore location, including the dawn chorus. The local peoplein the village were also helpful and courteous. Situated on the Northernedge of Exmoor there are plenty of good walks and much wildlife to see.A very, very pleasant holiday base.

Very good restaurant and vegetarian options on the menus. ) Lovely views, and the hotel was right onthe edge of a busy pedestrian only shopping street, where you can buyyour gifts, and yummy cakes etc. Staffing brilliant very friendly from management to cleaning staff. We were lucky to get parking at the hotel, but plenty of evening free on street parking.

Had asked when booking for a sea view and on arrival not only did we have a lovely view over the harbour and sea but had been upgraded to a better room as well. The beds were comfortable, lovely fresh new linen and the staff were very nice. If you like Lynmouth this hotel is in a perfect location. Will definately be returning to this hotel.

There is fishing for salmon and trout and Lynmouth itself is one of the most picturesque fishing villages on this beautiful unspoilt stretch of Devon"s rugged North coast. Activities / Services: Parking, Meeting/Banquet Facilities, Fishing, Safety Deposit Box, Hiking, Horse Riding ... Lynmouth is a village at the confluence of the East and West Lyn rivers, it is much more picturesque than Lynton in the true sense of that word.

Location at the heart of the village. We selected the BayRoom and were pleased at it being bright, comfortable, airy, spacious, and with very nice view of the village and the Bristol Channel. PublicCar Parking is very close to the hotel and for L6 the hotel provided usa 48 hour parking voucher. Village evening hub seems to center around 1pub which is very nice and friendly, just a few minutes walk from thehotel.

Very friendly and welcoming hotel ,the view from the rooms balcony out over Lynmouth was stunning ,with the balcony doors open you can hear the running waters below from the river Lyn. The Lounge has a large selection of books on the history of Lynmouth which we found fascinating.
Mandy  — 6.12.2010.
The friendly staff were exceptional the overall atmosphere of the hotel is of a homely nature I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a break away you can do as little or as much as you like. The position of the hotel is very central to the shops harbour and the beautiful walk to Watersmeet. We will certainly come again but for longer!.
