There is no taxi rank at Lydney and taxis are infrequent at Chepstow, so it is advisable to pre-book a taxi from the station to Lindors - 8 miles from Lydney and 9 miles from Chepstow.

The cabin was very spacious and was lovely inside, very clean and smeltlovely, looked cosy and homely, perfect for getting away and relaxing.Staff were very pleasant and very helpful-nothing was too much troublefor them-very kind. I would recommend this hotel and it is a christianguild group but we wouldn't have known that only we read it in thedescription,we just relaxed ourselves so I would recommend for allfaiths,we as muslims felt very welcomed by staff and was lovely.

Being able to use the swimming pool was great for us with our children aged 7 and 8. Fantastic walking and outdoor activities all year round (we were there in December). Lots to do in the Wye Valley, indoors and out and several Christmas Markets were taking place on the weekend we were there. The location is lovely, but stayed in a lodge, not the hotel so cannot comment on the services there.

The staff really are very firendly, but it is fair to note that this isa very family orientated hotel with a Christian ethos. The hotel itselfis in a beaufitful spot but there is nothing around it unless you drive.

My family and I were attending a Wedding at Clearwell Castle. When looking to book somewhere to stay, we wanted to be near to the castle so we would only require a short taxi ride at the start and end of the evening which the hotel helped us to arrange. We have three young children and didn't want to take a chance with our accomodation, hence we followed the advice of the bride who had visited local hotels within the area when booking the Wedding venue. The Deangate Motel looked very nice, had spacious, beautifully decorated rooms which were cleaned to a very high standard. We were made feel very welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. I can honestly say that our stay at the Deangate Motel only added to our fantastic experience and memories of a great Wedding. Thankyou to all at the Deangate Motel.

The motel is very new and the rooms are very clean and excellent value for £60 per night. Breakfast served to your room at the time requested, car parking space right outside your front door and very secure. Excellent location, 5 minutes away from highly rated pub/ restaurant, take aways and other eateries 5 mins the other way and 10 minute taxi (£12) or drive from Clearwell Castle so it was perfect for getting to and from the Wedding at the Castle. Close to Lydney Harbour. Service was excellent, the owner met us on arrival at the time agreed and was very friendly. Hairdryer and coffee/ tea making facilities available. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.

I liked every thing about this Motel, it was easy to find, lots offree parking directly outside your room, and the rooms them selveswhere big, modern & stylish and so clean, the beds were fantastic, very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to be extremelyhelpful and friendly. I have stayed in a number of hotels and b& Bslocally, and this is the best by a long way I can highly recommend theDean gate Motel.

Chris and Nigel were so welcoming and the breakfasts were excellent. Thebird feeders were a constant source of delight for us, those alone madethe holiday memorable. It was clean and comfortable and being able toget fresh milk whenever needed was a real treat.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. For me though the biggest plus was the proximity of the hotel to the Bristol Royal Infirmary where my husband is currently a patient. Have you ever considered reserving a few rooms for friends/relatives of patients at the BRI as there is no on site accommodation in the main hospital and some people have to travel quite far?
David  — 10.1.2012.
The hotel's location is pretty good. Broadmead/Cabot Circus is just across the road. There's a nice Chinese restaurant/takeaway around the corner, literally a 60 second walk. The rooms are spotless and newly renovated. good selection of TV stations if you feel like staying in. Friendly staff also.
Brian  — 20.11.2011.
The peace and quiet I asked for was brilliant even in the middle of Bristol, they allocated me a room on the 15th floor! Fantastic didnt hear a thing! Also we had to stay on in Bristol for an extra night, which was quickly and efficiently dealt with no probs at all. Definately stay there again.
