Absolutely fabulous! I’ve never filled in one of these feedback forms before but this place was so good I felt I had to. Stayed here with my partner and parents and the apartment exceeded our expectations and requirements. The extra touches like the expresso maker, Sky Plus HD, surround sound throughout the apartment, and the umbrellas by the front door, all served to make our stay extra special. Great value for money too, no way could you get a hotel of this calibre.

The Chester Residence though not cheap was good value for money. You could easily pay as much for an ensuite room in a hotel and with the Chester Residence you got a whole apartment. The staff were warm, friendly and courteous. I even got upgraded to a better apartment, for the same price! I will definately book again if i want a luxury weekend in Edinburgh.

The penthouse apartment! Excellent, modern, luxurious. The staff, probably the best personal service I have received at a hotel. Would choose over the usual 5* hotels in Edinburgh.

This hotel was fantastic. The hotel is a little old in parts (the lifts/stairwell etc) but the rooms are very very nice with lots of space, polished floorboards and a quality feel. I would definitely recommend this place to someone on business or a weekend break. I did not use the bar/restaurant so cannot comment on that.

I liked how the rooms were laid out, they are very welcoming! Staff wereequally as welcoming. The beds were very comfotable, almost didn’t wantto leave! This hotel is excellent value for money! If you want a luxyhotel then go spend L100 more on a hotel down the road, however we lovedthe Grassmarket Hotel. The pubs around the hotelare brill, again, very friendly atmosphere. The royal mile is literally10 steps away and from there you hav.
Paul  — 18.11.2010.
The hotel is extremely well located. It is in close proximity to the castle and the main shopping areas of Edinburgh such as Princess Street , George Street , and Rose Street. It also is situated next to a variety of eateries and pubs which offer a wide variety of entertainment , including live music most nights ; the hotel is also positioned in the historical ’old town’ area of Edinburgh , a stones throw from Grey Friars Church Yard and the National Museum oof Scotland. Finally the hotel is also easy to find - being located on the corner of the Grassmarker and also within walking distance of.
Tecson  — 14.12.2010.
Location is fairly central, short walk to Edinburgh castle, Lawnmarket and Royal Mile for shopping. Mac City tour bus passes by the hotel, so no need to spend extra for taxi or bus, just hop on, hop off to go around the city. Could be noisy at nights due to bars beneath and near the hotel, but was not noisy during our stay. Room size is okay.

Good location. Car parking was off site, about 10mins walk away and there’s a 20%discount when ticket is validated with the hotel. Would recommend ithighly except we paid over the top rates. I blame the edinburgh festivaland royal tattoo!.
Carrie  — 12.10.2010.
I really liked how close it was to the Royal Mile and all the historicand tourist district. We were totally on foot for 4 days and could covera lot of ground easily from the hotel’s location. Other hotels were muchmore expensive just to be two more blocks closer. The hotel room wasvery nicely furnished, super clean, spacious and very comfortable.
