A beautiful, very peaceful location and quiet atmosphere in the hotel, so very relaxing during the time we were there. Our bedroom was quiet as requested (not the fault of the hotel there we two noisy guests in a room near us) and high up as requested with beautiful views over the tops of trees. A good English breakfast. An invigorating walk down into Ilkley, about 10 minutes at the most so very a healthy experience.

Quiet location with good views. Our bedroom and bathroom were spacious, comfortable, attractive and clean. We asked for a quiet room and gotexactly what we asked for. A feeling of quietness and space in the hotelmeans that it is a good place to chill out after a busy day. A greatlocation for so many restaurants and shops in Ilkley, within a healthywalking distance. Very easy parking.

The location near to Ilkley and the Moor and the station good. The hotelwas pleasant, room let down on arrival by no loo paper or handsoap onarrival, also loo dirty, needed bleaching. Reception didn't actionrequest so had to search for chambermaid which was embarrassing for us.Overall this was outweighed by good facilities and good breakfast.

A lovely hotel with great people running it; service is attentive and personable, the personal touch can be seen everywhere. Our room was spacious and comfortable; it’s the first time I can honestly say the bed was more comfortable than our one at home (tempur attress!) The bathroom was also bright and airy with a superb Jacusi bath and power shower. Fittings and fixtures were unsparingly good quality and the room boasted a flat screen TV, armchair and couch so you don’t have to chill out on the bed. Best of all our little (doggie) darlings were made as welcome as us! I would recommend the Da.

My reply to the second part of question 2 is "a pub with rooms" -certainly not a hotel. For the price I had to pay the only justificationis the location. The room was described as "superior", which meant asettee with cushions was provided. There was no radio (I was able toborrow one from friends). To view the tv one had to sit sideways on thesettee and look up, because the tv was perched next to the tea/coffee onthe chest of drawers - not an ideal way to enjoy any programmes. Norubber safety mat was provided for standing in the bath to have ashower. No shampoo was provided - just a couple of.

From the moment we arrived staff were attentive and really friendly about not only the hotel but where to visit and we were made to feel very welcome. Great accomodation for the price.

Initial poor impression from reception staff, surly and incommunicative, but changed completely by overnight staff and improved considerably byfriendliness of breakfast staff in particular a lady called 'Mal' whochanged our opinion of the hotel, from one of 'would only stay ifpressed' to 'would definitely stay again'. On same issue, wouldrecommend changing breakfast advertising statements, geared towards 'eatas much as you want' but this was off-putting, as we wanted a lightbreakfast and did not realize literally until the last minute thatothercoptions were available and were leavingto have breakfast outside, when on reading the (very) small print that other options wereavailable. Highlighting other options on a par withbeat as much as youlike, might encourage other guests to stay for breakfast!!!!!

We liked the service we were given by the staff. Martin had to deal withthe tv noise in the neighbouring room at 4am! Staff looked after us verywell at breakfast and the food was all we could want. The room andbathroom were comfortable and well designed. Location very convenientfor visiting the new Hepworth Gallery and the Yorkshire Sculpture Parkand friends in Leeds.

Re-visited my old area and it was a pleasant surprise as I remember thatsite as a garden centre. For those who don't know the area it isconvienient for Leeds and Bradford either by own transport or publicbuses. A visit to Pudsey should also be encouraged for friendliness, andPost Hill is just over the road for walking and nature. All in all areally nice stay and will be back everytime I visit the area. Don't beput off by it's proximity to two main roads, we didn't hear any trafficall night. Breakfast well worth it and staff really friendly. Havestayed in a lot of other more expensive hotels and couldn't say half ofthis. Try it...you won't be disappointed.

Handy for leaving Leeds after an evening. Room was very comfortable, hadthe biggest tv I've ever seen in a hotel room! Had mentioned gluten-freediet in booking and they had gone to the trouble of getting in thingsespecially: always a winner. Although there was some confusion overpayment they were happy to sort this out next morning (we checked invery late). Will definitely stay here again - there are some very dodgy cheap hotels around Leeds (Headingley area) and it was nice to find one that really *is* a hotel and not a glorified (but still run-down) B&B!
Malcolm  — 24.12.2011.
The staff were very helpful, courteous and there when we needed them. The room was very pleasant and clean, the bed was especially comfortable, (which cannot always be said of hotel beds!) the bathroom well equipped and clean. The breakfast was good and plentyful, the onlyl thing which was below par was the quality of the sausages, but heigh ho, the whole experience was a good one
