Location in small typical village in the middle of countryside with goodwalking routes close by. Downstairs this is atraditional pub with ancient wooden beams, an pub food served in theevening. Our room was in a bit younger part of the hotel, with a newbathroom. View from window on pretty street with shops.

Standard old English pub/hotel, nothing special, nothing bad. Visamachine wasn’t working when I visited (not convinced, suspect theycancelled it really, signs looked like they’d been there a while) so Ihaven’t paid yet :-) The town of Henfield was ok, several pubs, goodIndian (+ another). A long way from Brighton if that’s what you werelooking for.

As an ex Henfield person of some 30 years what can I say. The hotel was very welcoming and we felt really at home.

This is the best experience in a hotel that we could imagine for what wewanted. We had the best room #16 at the front of the hotel so we didn’thave far or stairs to manhandle our large heavy luggage around. Slept well dispitethe sound of aircraft taking off at the airport and a completelysatisfying breakfast before being driven to the airport in the hotelbus. We wanted for nothin.

The Gatwick Belmont is an enjoyable hotel. There is parking available just in front of the hotel. The Horleytrain station is a 5 minutes walk away with regular trains into LondonVictoria. The staff proved very helpful and friendly throughout our 3night stay.
David  — 12.5.2011.
The staff were very pleasant and were more than happy to collect me fromGatwick Airport train station and bring me back to the hotel at thebeginning of our evening there. The food was excellent, very fresh, homemade, good sized portions and prepared with care. It was very convenient for an overnight stop before an early flight, which was the reason we chose this hotel.

Spectacular view, Got the feeling of an old seaside hotel. Great choice if you like somepersonality and atmosphere in an hotelroom and hate standarised rooms. You even get a proper key and not some sillyplastic keycard. Very nice staff and a very good value for money.

Excellent location. Hotel was very shabby and run down, but this didn’t bother us because it was very clean and rooms were a good size. For the price we thought this hotel was good and would stay again. But it is nothing special.
Nicki  — 11.4.2010.
I couldn’t fault anything about this hotel. It was a very comfortable room. The hotel is in a great location, just across the promenade from the remains of the West Pier. We’d stay here again for sure.

We arrived 2hrs early and they kindly let us into the room straight away. The view from the room was brilliant! Location was great, it’s right opposite the pier and very close to The Lanes / Town. We were conscious that we would hear a lot of street noise, when in fact, we heard very little (& we had all three windows open!) The hotel has no car park but we bought a permit from Reception for L5. We park in Zone C (Dorset Gdns) which is a few minutes walk away from the hotel (road parking) & the permit covered us for 24 hours on Saturday.

Hotel Amsterdam was situated in a really good place with amazing view (unfortunately during our stay the hotel was under outside reconstruction -. Nice staff. Breakfast OK (could be more various - there weren´t any vegetables or more pastries to choose from). I would appreciate as well a better choice from tees.
