When we arrived and got followed by the chickens we immediatley had agood feeling about the Royal Oak. On check in the staff could not havebeen more helpful and friendly. It's so nice to have staff that aresmart, pleasant and don't call you "mate" or "you guys" which seems tobe the in thing these days!!.The room was beyond believe, enormousspotlessly clean and very well furnished. How often do you get a memoryfoam mattress in a b&b??. The evening got better when we sat down toeat. Thankfully the menu was not as extensive or full of pre preparedfoods like lasagne as in most places but they served good localproduce..the pork was to die for! Overall an excellent place to stay andenjoy life.

The Royal Oak is an old beamed inn. It is an excellent choice forfamilies (over 16's only) wishing to book comfortable, spaciousaccommodation. We had the two bedroomed suite which took up the whole ofthe second floor. There was a large double and large twin bedded roomwith bathroom and sitting room. There was complimentary coffee, tea, hotchocolate and bottled water in both bedrooms.I Would highly recommendthe Royal Oak. It has a lovely garden/patio area and is very convenientfor visiting Rye and the coast. It is in a lovely spot off the main roadnext to a church and farm.

We enjoyed the experience of staying in such an old and interestingproperty. Our bedroom was warm and quiet, the beds comfortable and weenjoyed the luxurious white cotton sheets. The Royal Oak made an ideal centre for the exploration of the Romney marshes, Dungeness and ancient towns such as Rye. We appreciated the restaurant. Both the Romney Marsh spit roasted lamb and the following day's Shepherd's pie were outstanding. We are happy to recommend The Royal Oak to anyone.

The staff were very friendly, and the facilities were well kept. It is an old house refurbished as a B&B runned by a couple. They were very helpful. Breakfast was ok, the atmosphere was very pleasant and decorated in an old fashion way.

The owners and staff were absolutely wonderful and so very helpful. Itwas a beautiful old house and they served a great breakfast. Nice spotin Folkestone and walkable to the beach and a great kid’s playground.

It was an old style bed and breakfast not a hotel. Accessability to other areas around Folkestone. Best English breakfast I,ve had for years.

The White Rock Hotel occupies a prime location on Hastings seafront, next door to the White Rock Theatre, minutes from the Town Centre and a 10 minute walk along the Promenade to Hastings Old Town. The hotel car park is to the rear of the hotel. Activities / Services: Pets Allowed, Meeting/Banquet Facilities, Newspapers, Laundry, Free Parking, Fax/Photocopying, Wi-Fi/Wireless LAN, All Public and Private spaces non-smoking ... The White Rock Hotel is situated on the bustling seafront close to the centre of Hastings and directly opposite the town’s shingle beach and Victorian pier (partially open). For a change of pace, you can take the East Hill lift, the UK’s steepest funicular railway, from the bustling Old Town to the peace and beauty of Hastings Country Park on the cliffs above. Hastings has long been a thriving fishing port, and today has the largest fleet of beach-launched boats in Europe, which are still operating in the traditional way. The hotel’s location means it is not only within easy reach of many of Hastings’ attractions, but also those of the Sussex countryside and England's south coast.

The hotel staff were brilliant we had some noisy neighbours the first night and we had to complain to reception and even though it was 2am they were there straight away and they came back to check because obviously they were noisy as soon as the staff left but they were quite after the second time. Also they were told to keep it quite the next night as well- they handled the situation really well. Apart from this our trip was great and the hotel was lovely, clean and our room very spacious. Very creaky floor boards but it was a great base for exploring.
Michael  — 26.7.2010.
We stayed in a Standard King room. Free parking, although limited spaces. The hotel has been well restored and is in goodcondition. Overall, a very nice hotel that I would recommend if able toget a discount from the standard rack rates which they charge.
Gill  — 14.1.2011.
The hotel was well situated right on the sea front and not a long walk to all amenities The food on the hotel was well presented and very nice. the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The veranda was an ideal place to sit and have a drink whilst watching the sea. The car park was small but adequate.

The staff were very friendly. The view overthe garden from the conservatory was lovely and relaxing. The room wasreally comfortable - comfy bed, side chairs, good shower. Even though itwas classed as a b&b, the owner was very relaxed and didn’t have anysilly ideas about ’rules and regs’ - it was more like a hotel.
Clive  — 18.8.2010.
The hotel was clean tidy and we were well recieved by the hotelier whowas very friendly and helpful. The staff were freindly polite and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble to help make your stay a good one.
Margaret  — 18.6.2011.
Very nice B&B. We were upgraded to rm. 2 with a four poster bed. Lovely room very tastfully decorated with little nic- nacs in the room which made it very homely unlike the hotel rooms you find within the large hotel groups.

The Location of the Hotel right opposite Dover Station which has been given a new flight of stairs that go onto the main road so was very easy to get to and got upgraded to a double room so was a great stay and will probably be using this hotel a few more times this year.
Daniel  — 29.6.2011.
The lady who runs the hotel was very helpful in recommending things to see, places to go. She also recommended a restaurant which I thoroughly enjoyed. This hotel was located right next to the train station, which was great.
Alun  — 28.3.2011.
