The best hotel I stayed in for years. The old history of the building in combination with modern design / decoration makes you feel very comfortable. The food in the restaurant (breakfast/dinner) is very good. The hotel is a strong recommendation for people who want to visit the area of Kent and use Cranbook as their base for the exploration.

The hotel staff were very pleasant and did their utmost to make our stay pleasant. The food in the hotel was excellent. We sampled breakfast,an evening meal in the restaurant and a meal in the brasserie all were excellent.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The building is beautiful and has great character. The food was great quality and plenty of it! The location is wonderful with great views from the back. Also the village setting is great. A real English Inn where people have been made welcome for centuries. The genuine article! A complete contrast the the false welcome at a chain hotel and with out the pretentiousness of a "boutique". We enjoyed our stay enormously!

I have stayed at the Star and Eagle Hotel many times before. The things I like the most are the very pleasant staff and the absolutely great food.

John  — 5.12.2010.
Afton Hotel is an attractive old building and my many of the rooms havebay windows, mine had a view of the Pier. The room itself was wellfurnished and comfortable with a very modern and efficient shower. Although I only stayed for 1 night I would have no hesitaton in stayingthere again when I visit Eastbourne for the tennis. I spent thefollowing 3 nights at another which cost 50% more and was far inferior;I cannot fault the Afton Hotel for value for money.
Jeffery  — 6.7.2011.
Stayed at the Afton Hotel for 8 nights,5 on my own & 3 nights with mywife & toddler. The staff at the Afton are superb they doeverything to make your stay a happy one. Our room was always cleanedwhile we were at breakfast & fresh towels everyday. The hotel is a great2* hotel at bargain rates.

We stayed in Eastbourne overnight to attend tennis tournament which was being held only 10 minutes walk away. Hotel was dated, but clean and good value for money. Street parkng available at hotel, but meters start at 8 am. To avoid getting up to see to parking, hotel supplied permit which allowed free parking until 11 am.

Caroline  — 27.4.2010.
The main reason for choosing The Palm Court Hotel was because it mentioned from the first that it had disabled rooms. As my daughter is in a wheelchair this was a major consideration and it would be helpful if more hotels advertised these facilities rather than having to ring and check all the time. The rooms were well cleaned while we were at breakfast which meant that we could return at any time and not be disturbed. The staff were all friendly and helpful and ready to.
Deborah  — 6.6.2010.
It’s a good area so close to the beach and the pier. The hotel that we stay for two nights and its really lovely nice good hotel. And finally we went to The Bannacer Pub to meet deaf freinds from Ovingdean Hall School for the deaf reunion party. We have had a good time threre and also have watch the fireworks display.

The people running this hotel are lovely. They were so helpful andfriendly! This makes a big difference to me and made my stay a realpleasure. I chose it for the location, which was brilliant, and theprice, which was good value but it was the people that pushed it intothe ’outstanding’ category.
Spouge  — 9.8.2011.
Very quiet hotel, well situated. The breakfast was good. The otherpositive point was that it has a car parking facility. We would staythere again when in Eastbourne.
