Stayed there for night and was very suprised by the hotel and Lovelystaff very friendly. But what do you expectfrom a 18th Century building , the rooms were of a far higher standardthan some of the picky comments made on here The rear garden was alovely spot to relax. we have enjoyed our stay at the Castle View Hotel and will certainly book with them again.
Julie  — 21.2.2010.
Service sets this property apart from other hotels available. Location is awesome - about 300 yards away from Chepstow Castle. Breakfast was delightful with good options for all. Michael made our stay here the high point of our 9 day tour of Wales and England.

The hotel has a close up view of Chepstow Castle, and is in the middle of town center in a 300+ year old house. Plenty of history to digest, in addition to the nearby sites. Hotel bar/restaurant a lovely place to hangout, and management friendly, young, and resourceful.

Went to the races - the Hotel was in an excellent location for this andwas also in a great location in the town itself - close to everythingthat mattered. The fact the hotel served food was very convenient and wealso attended the disco during the evening which meant we didn't have toworry about getting home. The charge for the room was also veryreasonable and basically had everything that was needed

Along with these very upgrades the name has also been subject to change and has evolved from The Beaufort Inn, The Beaufort Inn Hotel, The Beaufort Hotel and most recently the Abbey Hotel.

We only stayed for a quick one night stopover and chose this hotel as itas convenient and nearby to a weekend event my daughter and I wereattending. The hotel is excellent value for money and the view of theabbey from our room was breath taking. We did not have time to samplethe cuisine, but from what we saw it looked delicious!! Negative pointswere that the bathroom although very clean was tired and could have donewith redecorating. Also, we went to bed early and were disturbed bynoise from the room above us. I would have no hesitation in staying hereagain. It is a beautiful location and offers excellent value for money.

What a super location - bang opposite Tintern Abbey. We could look out at the Abbey while sitting in bed having our morning cup of tea. It was floodlit at night and looked wonderful. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The village of Tintern was lovely with a super second-hand bookshop, an old water-mill with restaurant, excellent gift shop next to the Abbey. Old Tintern railway station was a step back into the pre-Beeching era and there was a lovely walk along the old track and the river Wye. I would definitely stay at the Abbey Hotel again.
Mary  — 3.2.2012.
