I am 79. Upstairs and downstairs the staff could not have been nicer or more friendly,You probably notice I gave all ’excellents’ in the questionnaire above. I have never done this before but hope i may do it again. Congratulations to Ramada and its staff — they certainly know how to make someone welcome.
Brian  — 26.7.2011.
The hotelwas situated adjacent to the A14 therefore highly accessible but very secluded. There was a picturesque walk along a footpath to the abbey grounds in Bury and Sainsbury’s supermarket was a two minute walk from the hotel. The grounds of the hotel had rabbits and hedgehogs roaming around at night - delightful!.

Hotel staff were helpful and very accommodating. Restaurant was cheerful and food although not gourmet was well presented.

Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. I was in a twin room in thecourtyard the first night, and a double room the second night. Due to anissue out of the Hotel's control, I was upgraded to a superior doubleroom on the second night. This was a fabulous room - it was so good Idecided to stay an extra night. The receptionist really looked after me,so top marks to her. The hotel building had character, rooms were clean, grounds were very pleasant, and the staff did genuinely care. I wouldstay in the main building again.
Christopher  — 17.1.2012.
The breakfast was excellent - all freshly cooked to order rather thanthese mediocre breakfast buffets that seem to prevail in hotels thesedays. Service at breakfast was very good. The location of the hotel wasconvenient for both city and countryside. The rooms were spacious andquiet - mine was in a separate block outside the main hotel building.

The hotel had a very warm and friendly atmosphere the food was excellent and the bar staff and dining room staff were friendly yet very professional nothing was too much trouble.

We were just using the hotel for an overnight stay, it was the price which attracted us and the look of the hotel on the website, didn’t know it’s history until later ! The car park is quite small but the efficiency of the reception staff in checking you in and the speediness of the car parking staff in making sure that your car was safely parked in the hotel’s car park was quite amazing, everybody was very polite and helpful. Definately recommend it as a great place to stay, great position in the town.
Andrew  — 20.1.2011.
The suite was roomy, clean and well appointed, with lovely views to the gardens and cathedral. The hotel is very atmospheric, in no small part due to its venerable age. Wifi was welcome. All round an excellent hotel indeed.

The professional service and location of this hotel ideally served our purpose. The staff were most attentive and extremely helpful. The handling of the car parking was excellent and is definitely a USP of this hotel.

One of the most historic hotels in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, Ravenwood Hall is steeped in nearly 500 years of history Set in seven acres of landscaped woodlands and gardens, this country house hotel is easily accessible from the main A14, running through the heart of East Anglia.
Varvara  — 11.2.2012.
The scenery of the hotel was just perfect: pure English countryside.Friendliness of the hotel staff was beyond praise - I've travelled a lotbut probably never have seen so much personal touch and sincerewilingness to help and make my stay absolutely fantastic. The room, mainbuilding and restaurants were exactly as expected - cosy, full of smalldetails and historical artefacts. But attitude of the hotel staff - thatwhat made a real difference, from reception to the owner of this hotelwho managed to find time to chat with every guest in the hotel. Notethat this hotel is located 3 miles form the closest town (Bury StEdmunds) so better rent a car to get there and travel around.

The hotel is a unique hotel with superb grounds and a wonderful historical feel to it. The artwork although unusual fitted in with the character as did the staff. The room was clean and well designed as would have been expected in a 15th century built hotel.
Sylvia  — 8.2.2012.
We Found the Staff very helpfull. The Manor is very charming and oldworldly and beautifull. The grounds are magnifisent and beautifully caredfor. It was a picture of a place for weddings and celebrations.Which washappening every day we were there.

After travelling 400 mile's, it was an oasis for us, very friendly greeting, excellent room, clean and fresh. The staff were very friendly, great beer in the bar. In the morning a lovely "full English" without a drop grease on the plate. Would thoroughly recommend The Golden Bear Inn.
Philip  — 29.11.2011.
Very good meal perhaps not quite michalan star . Asparagus a little too al dente for my palate but a very good effort. Choclate pudding to die for . Can't confirm the standard of the Cappaiciano Brulee my wife scoffed the lot!!! Very friendly staff . Would definatly revisit .

This was our second stay at The Golden Boar and as before we enjoyed thefriendly relaxed atmosphere, the excellent accomodation and the reallydelicious food.

What a find! Dianne and Steve were just the perfect hosts - full of tipsand ideas with great personal service thrown in. Huge thanks to them formaking our stay so lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. The outside ofthe country house does not give you any indication of what is inside.Simple, stylish, comfortable and roomy with all you need for a short orlong stay. We did check the hot tub out and can confirm it's a delighttoo! We'll go back later in the year and check out the log fire thatlooked sooo inviting (but not for summer nights!). Enjoy!
Zsuzsanna  — 23.1.2012.
This was my second stay and since my first stay I have waited to thismoment to go back. Had a brilliant time again. Lovely hosts, superbroom, attention to details - put me in the same room again, which Iloved - cleanliness, tasty breakfast. Everything is professional andsuperb. Five star quality, five star hospitality, five startranquillity. Highly recommended to everyone form someone who has beenworking in the professional hospitality industry for 2 years. Can't waitto go back.

We stayed in the 2 storey cottage. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. The owners were excellent - met us on site and couldn't have done enoughfor us. There was a lovely welcome pack with fruit, cereal, bread etcfor breakfast and plenty of tea, coffee and milk. The beds were comfyand lots of lovely fluffy towels. The cottage is not new, but is verycomfortable. Washing machine, dishwasher, hairdryer and all kitchenfacilities. Would recommend. Off street parking available.

Fen House is all around the best B&B I’ve stayed at to date. Lynn & Glynn made me feel as if I had arrived at a relative’s house- I could have stayed for a month! Not only were they great hosts, my room was immaculate and the bed the most comfortable I’ve ever had in a B&B. It was only a short drive to town, but set in the country with a beautiful garden. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a great place at a great price.
Olwen  — 27.8.2010.
We received a very warm welcome and the accommodation and breakfast was wonderful. The owners were extremely hospitable and made every effort to do all they could to make us comfortable and relaxed - a lovely couple. Would recommend Fen House to anyone wanting somewhere peaceful and quiet, yet only a short distance to local amenities. We hope to return there before too long.
Peter  — 11.1.2011.
Friendliness of proprietors. Little extras such as ice coldbottled water provided free of charge. Rooms and amenities of thehighest standard, more along the lines of a small luxury hotelrather than a b&B.
