I found the hotel on the internet after looking for somewhere to ride, this being a last minute plan. I booked it the night before and rang thefollowing morning to make sure my reservation was ok. The staff werevery helpful. I chose Burley Manor Hotel as I wanted a few days awayhorse riding and I liked the idea of the stables being on site, asinitailly I was planning to travel alone and as I did not know the areaI wanted the stables to be in easy reach. Also I chose the New Forest asit was not too much of drive from home. My husband decided to come withme, and to prop up the bar whilst I was riding! We were impressed withour room, spacious, clean and the balcony was a lovely feature, shameabout the rain! I would have no hestitation in staying again, and on myown if necessary. The drinks in the bar were reasonably priced and thebreakfast set me up for the horse riding. I would like to suggest thatas the stables are within the hotel grounds that a discount could beoffered to guests stayi

The hotel was easy to find, just off the main road,a long track took us to the hotel in very peaceful setting. There was a wide choice of food on the menu, the three course evening meal followed by coffee in the lounge area was served in a leisurely pace and was good value for money- friendly staff at breakfast gave us a hearty start to the day.I did enjoy having the morning papers dropped outside my door at 7.30 -I like to start the day with a peaceful coffeee in bed ! My wife and I slept very well, undisturbed by fellow occupants and the location meant there was no noisy traffic. Easy reach of the local towns, variety of places of interest, also the coast for the kids.On reflection a great place to relax and unwind.

The hotel benefit from a fantastic location. If you like wild life therethe hotel is surronded by dears and some horses. If you can I recommandyou to book one of the "outside" room with private patio /balcony that laid directly into the garden. By a sunny day you willenjoy your tea in your private terrace. The rooms are more expensive butit worth it. The hotel itself is an old manor and the decoration andatmosphere is just fantastic, surronded by trees and animals. They manorholds wedding celebration as well. So you may be there at same time as aceremonie. I would recommand this hotel.

We wanted somewhere relaxing where our dog would also be welcome. The locationwas beautiful, just a short walk through the forest to Burley village, across the golf course. Thereis no gym or swimming pool, but plenty of opportunity for fresh air andwalking, cycling, pony trekking,or golf. It is a small hotel, but verybusy and popular for food during the weekend.
Anthea  — 12.3.2010.
We arrived and the hotel was not fully booked, we were immediately up-graded to a much larger room with no extra charge. The dog was welcomed and water provided, he was allowed in the bar area. The walks from the front door are great, immediately into the forest surrounded by ponies. Golf is available alongside the hotel for those who want it, but there are a number of ponies on the course - so shots would need to be accurate! We have visited before and will go back again, especially on a Thursday night when a jazz band comes in.

Excellent staff, welcoming, helpful, friendly and courteous. The room was as described and the facilities were very good. Loved the tea/coffee making facilities and the extra little touches that make such a difference from the impersonal large chain hotels. The hotel itself is in a terrific location, easy to find and good car parking.

This hotel is not as bad as reviews say although we did pay extra for anexecutive room which had been refurbed. First room we were offered wasrefurbed to a high standard but only had a small window that looked ontoa fire escape and rather scruffy back of hotel. some of corridors upstairs alittle tired but it is an old building like all hotels on east cliff. Excellent service from s.
Timothy  — 25.4.2010.
We arrived at Heathlands only to be told that we had actually been moved to their sister hotel - we were shocked that we had not been told this in advance, after all, we do leave e-mail addresses, home addresses and two contact phone numbers whenever we book a hotel online! Therefore this review is actually for The Roundhouse which is just under a mile closer to the centre. In terms of what was good: location is very good for the beach; staff were always pleasant and polite and the food was good also.

We enjoyed a very nice week in late August in this hotel. Wetherefore didn’t have to go out to eat, since the hotel restaurant wasso good. There are three-star hotels that have the same menu everynight. This is a very attractive feature in a hotel that wishes to caterfor those who spend a whole week there. For those who only spend a nightor two, then an unchanged menu is not really noticeable, but for thosewhose stay is longer and who have come to the hotel for their summerholdays (a very important part of the year), then a vari.

R. Perry: I would rate this hotel as a very good 3 star hotel. it could not be 4 star as it doesn’t have the facilities of a 4 star hotel for example: a spa room or pool, but during meals in the restaurant I asked for food items not on the menu and the staff and chef went to a lot of effort to meet my requests. The food was delicious (although not gourmet) and nicely presented and I would recommend this hotel for couples, business travellers and shoppers! the location is very good for Bournemouth beach and shops; it is literally a couple of minutes walk to both - you don’t need to ’taxi’ anywh.
Ian  — 31.5.2011.
This was an excellant hotel because the staff were frienfly and obligingthey did everything possible to meet our needs and requests. The location for Bournemouth city centre and access to the beach and promenade made each so easy. The restaurant served a quality menu and it was simply a joy to have no negative thoughts about the food or the service. Thank you to ALL staff in the Lampeter Hotel we would reccommend and revisit.

Hotel is in a great location, on hill looking Boscombe pier. There is a direct access by a green walk down the hill from the back of the hotel to pier and beaches. Hotel staff is very friendly, extremely helpful. Hotel has nice gardens to relax, nice swimming pools both outdoor (shame it was closed due to season) and indoor. We will probably come back to this hotel. From the hotel, it is around 30 minutes beach walk to Bournemouth pier, where the main attraction is.

On reading other reviews of the hotel, I wasnt too sure what to expect but one of the main things that I was surprised about was the quality of the breakfast - other reviews had said that it was cold, slow etc but I didnt see this as the case as it was a lovely buffet breakfast which was all fresh and hot. The staff were very polite and helpful. I would recommend having smart clothes with you if you plan on eating in the hotel restaurant as at times we felt a little under-dressed for the hotel.
Tracy  — 28.6.2011.
The peaceful location of the hotel within easy walking distance ofBoscombe Pier and Bournemouth. Didn’t try the indoor pool as it was smaller than the outdoor pool. Theroom was very comfortable and clean and the staff are only too willingto assist. The public areas of the hotel are very well maintained.

The hotel was alot nicer than I expected it to be. Thepictures of the hotel laguna do not do it justice at all. The gardenarea is very nice and the hotel is much bigger than I had thought. Weloved the fact we could come and go from the hotel as we pleased. This hotel is great if your young andlooking for somewhere cheap but still cheerful to come back to after anight on the out.

There is not much I can fault about the Laguna. I was on the verge of cancelling this hotel based on the reviews but I am really glad I didn’t. Didn’t get chance to use the pool but it seemed fine. I would recommend this hotel to families, older people, young.
Anonymous  — 23.2.2011.
We checked in at laguna hotel but did not stay, as the rooms had a funny smell to them, were old fashioned and dirty. The bathrooms had mould all over them! Was not very happy with this hotel and certainly wouldn’t rate it as a 3 star!.

Our stay at the Blue Palms Hotel was excellent. The Hotel was spotlessly clean, tastfully decorated with lovely rooms and excellent breakfast. Only a short walk to the town centre and sandy beach, but situated just right to be away from any noise. It was a very enjoyable holiday and we will definately stay at the Blue Palms next time in Bournemouth.
