Myself and my partner returned yesterday from a weekend in Bristol, having stayed for two nights at the Mercure Brigstow. We both loved thehotel! We paid a little extra to ensure we had river view and were gladwe did. The noise level is probably a little higher at the front of thehotel but this wasn’t a problem - It really wasn’t that bad.
Stephen  — 17.2.2011.
Hotel has modern feel with rooms that are nicely furnished. We found thelocation ideal with the city centre in one direction and the newshopping centre in the other and not too far from Temple Meads railwaystation. With the location being on a no through road next to thefloating harbour it is (we imagine) quieter than most other hotels thatwe saw and we had a good nights sleep both days. The breakfasts are verywholesome and cooked to order and the set menu 3 course dinner for L18was very good value for money.

Upon booking I requested a nice room as the purpose of my trip was a present for my boyfriend who turned 30. Staff at the hotel were welcoming, friendly and efficient so overall myself and my boyfriend were very impressed with this hotel :).

I loved the laid back friendly atmosphere. We needed 3 double rooms as 6 of us were in Bristol to watch a band. After having difficulty finding a reasonably priced hotel, I discovered the Clifton Hotel. Our ages ranged from 55-62, and we were in the minority, as it seems this hotel attracts the younger element, but I would rather be amongst younger "happier" folk than the moaners anyway.
Anonymous  — 5.5.2011.
The hotel is in a good location, close to Clifton village and the Downs, which are very pleasant, but within easy walking distance of other sights/city centre. There is a decent restaurant and outside seating, which we used and were happy with. The staff were friendly and not overly formal. The cafe in the foyer provides a relaxed location in which to grab a coffee and croissant if you don’t feel like breakfast.
Esther  — 24.7.2010.
I stayed in the Berkerley Square Hotel, I was moved to such hotel because the Clifton Hotel was closed for the night I was meant to stay. The service from reception was excellent, The staff member in particular was Tom and took the time to sort out my issue with my bedroom heating.

We came to Bristol for a family reunion. We chose this hotel because it had a swimming pool & my husband is in training for a tri-athlon. The fact that there is a pool and spa is not made much of in the online publicity and the Mercure own website - I had to google ’pool’ and ’Bristol hotel’ especially. Although the hotel is rather utilitarian and mass tourism in feel, we actually did sleep better than in most hotels! - thanks to an air-vent in the outside wall which allowed fresh air to come into the room and prevented that horrid suffocating feeling in hotels where one cannot open the windo.
John  — 3.2.2011.
My wife originated from Bristol so we visited everywhere she remebered during the four day visit. She came from Westbury on Trim and that was a delightful village 60 years ago. Bristol needs to be avoided at all costs unless you are hell bent on shopping. The Traffic situation means we would never get closer to the City than the Holland House Hotel where the geographical position was superb away from the unbelievable problems in the City. We ate all our meals in the \hotel and relaxed there which was great.

We arrived much later than anticipated so it was lovely to get into a comfortable bed and enjoy a welcome cuppa! Although situated amongst other hotels and close to a business park, the layout of the grounds offset this and when we drew back the curtains in the morning, it was hard to believe the proximity to other buildings. Being close to the M5 was invaluable to us so the location of this hotel was great yet the noise of the traffic hardly reached us. All in all, great value for money.
Anonymous  — 13.3.2010.
Lodge on the Park was perfect for our weekend away visiting friends. Thelocation was perfect for us and there was no car park charge at weekendwhich was a bonus. The design, decor & quality of the room was to a veryhigh standard and exceeded our expectations. We had no problems at allwith anything at the hotel during our stay. We would definitely use thishotel again and have already recommended it to others.

Sandra  — 28.12.2011.
I was looking for a place to stay with my daughter for the week end to celebrate her 21st birthday. I have stayed in this area of Bristol before but wanted something a bit different. The apartment was great, very clean and modern with things like a dish washer and washer/dryer for longer stays. The pint of milk and the tea, coffee and sugar bags were a nice touch for that first brew when you get there. There was also washing up liquid, cloths, t-towel, dish washer and wash machine tabs. The sofa could have been a bit more comfortable as it had a low back and you couldn't sink in to it, you had to position the cushions a certain way to lean your head back, however, once doing this I did get comfy in the end. The bathroom was very clean and nice toiletries left for our use. Although I had to pay £30 for the underground parking, it was good to have secure parking and know your car was safe. I would go back to these apartments again and am already planning a trip in the New Year

Bedroom expensive 1 double bed and 2 kids sharing on a small sofa bed. Tea making facilities poor. Kettle filthy!
