I booked this at the last minute just to get away from the city. It is aquirky and distinctive Victorian property, very well taken care of andnicely appointed, certainly different from your run-of-the-mill hotel. Unlike most places in Barmouth,it is a bit out of town (about half a mile) and quite a ways up thehill, so looking out the window you get a very relaxing view of the seaand a lot more peaceful than a lot of the places nearer the town centremight have been. Perfectly good breakfast,.

The person at the reception, Santa, was kind and helpful. Our room, atwin (we changed from a turret double), looked a little better than inthe picture of the hotel site, but it would need a more careful cleaningof the carpets near the walls, behind the beds. The view was nice, butnot that kind of a seaside resort. We enjoyed the dinner, the restaurantwas small, but had a sea view and service and food were very good. Thehotel was well decorated, some things were particularly nice.

Really enjoyed our weekend break - took my elderly Mom for a treat, whothought the hotel was excellent too. The weather wasn’t too good for thefirst 2 days but my mom’s comment was the Hotel made up for it withgreat food, service and location. Had twin room with sea view, which wasgreat especially on the Sunday when we woke up to sunshine. Beds wereconfortable and room clean, would definately go again.

Our family run guest house is situated a stones throw from Barmouth's award winning beaches and the hotel enjoys the fantastic scenery which Cardigan Bay and the Snowdonian Mountains have to offer. Start your day with a walk along the promenade with views across Barmouth's famous and award winning Blue Flag beach, located just 25 yards from our hotel. For the more energetic, Barmouth is full of opportunities for activity holidays. Above all else, Barmouth has a unique charm and this little fishing village turned seaside resort has really stood the test of time.

The famous Victorian John Ruskin once said, ‘There is no finer walk in the entire world than from Barmouth to Dolgellau, other than that from Dolgellau to Barmouth’! Walkers have known this for many years and come back again and again to find new paths to explore.

If you could designe the perfect short break from scratch David &Heather's Bryn Melyn b&b would be it . They themselves are the perfectHosts always willing to help and satisfy their guests. But what takesthe prize is the magnificent situation of the b&b itself. Views to diefor. Each room seems to have breathtaking views and even when theweather is bad just to sit at one of the windows and take it all in isworth the stay.I Could not give a higher recomondation than to say thatI have been all over the world but the 3 days I spent at Bryn Melyn willstay with me forever. A nicely updated establishment in a good location. The welcome was warm and unobtrusive. Our room was newly redecorated with good views across the estuary. Breakfast was nice with a decent choice. The acess is tight as it is on a hill with a tight bend but actually just driving past and turning round made life much simpler. A 10-15 minute walk down/up a steep path into Barmouth was no issue though would be for elderly/less able physically guests.

We were delighted with our accommodation at Bryn Melyn Guest House. Ourroom had a huge window with a magnificent view overlooking the township, the sea and a rail bridge. The owners regularly feed the birds alongtheir stone fence and from our window, we could watch a variety of birdssharing food with the squirrels. The excellent breakfast was serveddownstairs while we enjoyed the wonderful setting.

The hotel was quiet and efficiently run. Although a guest house, therooms were spotlessly clean and privacy was assured. The owners wererespectful and efficient in the way in which they run the hotel and asa guest, you had the feeling that nothing was too much trouble or wouldbe a fuss. The hotel was welcoming and well appointed with a peacefuland open atmosphere making you feel very welcome and comfortable duringthe stay. The breakfast was superb and served with minimum fuss andmaximum quality - a lovely experience and a highly recommended placefor a short break.

We loved the homely feel to this hotel. The couple who run this hotelhave only been there for 12 months and they are doing a grand job. Thebuilding itself does still need some updating but they are working onthat. Location is fabulous, you have a park and the beach just opposite,The breakfast is excellent and for food of an evening the last inn pubdown the road is fabulous. Great weekend had my myself, my hisband andour springer spaniel.

The hotel was close to all the the facilities we required. The hosts were 2 very nice people .The room we had overlooking the Barmouth estuary was first class as was the breakfast each morning. We had our bicycles on top of our car which when not in use they locked in their shed and gave us a spare key.Would recommend to all our friends Ken & Pat B

It was the nicest place I have stayed in, in a very long time. Leo and Mike have a beautiful home which we felt privileged to share for a short time. Excellence all the way, from the setting to the room to the food. We will stay here again if we are ever in the region again and will definitely spread the word throughout Ireland. X
