Very helpful friendly staff very central location actually on the platform of Ayr station. One must realise this hotel is a traditional station hotel built in the railways heyday and has been extremely grand, however it may be not every ones cup ot Tea l found it clean great value for money the food was good and different to the normal stereo typical hotels of today. however if i had had my Lynno with me she might have felt the place a little austre, but for the money and the staff you just cant beat it, also if we dont support these hotels they will be knocked down and replaced with monotonu.

My roon was huge and comfortable. The only drawback was if your room is at front of hotel then busy traffic noise. Not the hotels fault, but if you keep your window open like me it can be a bit of a nuisance. I would definatly stay there again.
Sheena  — 2.3.2011.
This is an excellent guest house - much better than a lot of hotels I have stayed in. It is in a very good location and is very convenient for the Ayrshire coast and Prestwick Airport. Will try to help with anything you ask. Breakfast fantastic - loads of choice.

The hotel was very good value, but the best thing was the quality of the staff who were both efficient and friendly. They always found time to talk to you. Also, and unusually in Scottish hotels, the shower unit was easy-to-use and had a suficient water flow. I would stay again.

Had a 1 night stay at this hotel. This hotel is 1 of the best hotels we have stayed in and we have been in a lot of hotels. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean, comfortable, brillant customer service from the staff they were very friendly. Cannot fault this hotel at all, even down to the wee personal touches it was nice, shortbread, hot choc waiting for you at side of your bed, housecoats and slipper.
Carole  — 17.4.2010.
The food in this hotel is excellant, the staff are very efficient and pleasant. Drinks and room service prices are very good for 4 star hotel in Scotland. The hotel is in a beautiful area, overlooking the racecourse. Having read previous reviews befor visiting some felt they were distanced from the main hotel, this is not justified in my view, it is only a few steps over to the main buildings, which are classy and c.
Anonymous  — 15.1.2011.
A really excellent hotel alongside the racecourse at Ayr. The food was really nice and wewould have been happy to stay for longer. It would be an excellent placeto stay for the races as it backs on to the race course but also a niceholiday hotel at other times. The " Burns" National Trust properties arenearby as is Culzean Castle and both make a pleasant day out.
