The Brudenell Hotel Aldeburgh: Excellent service, Great location, Superb dining.

I work and stay in many hotels all over the UK and Europe. I would say this hotel is one of the best small independent hotels I have stayed in. It is not overbroad with any one thing, but scores highly on all. The view and location are very important, but they cannot make a hotel.

We loved the Hotel and it’s position right on the beach. The village of Aldeburgh is a delight. For anyone who doesn’t know the coast a visit to Southwold with it’s old fashioned charm and famous beach huts is a must.

Its location to the sea, surrounding country-side and delightful old villages. The hotel was recommended to us by an old friend who had been a guest at the hotel some 3 to 4 years previous.

Breakfast was excellent better than some five stars that we stay at on business.Evening meal also excellent and very good value for money . Room was much better than expected for the price and "star" grading of the hotel with 5 star luxuries like good quality tea and coffee, bath toiletries, bedding and towells. Decor very clean and smart and modern. We had booked the cheapest room and were VERY pleased with it. Also I do think guests need to THINK sometimes about what they have actually paid for their stay and judge whether the price they have paid equals good value and service. After all you do not buy a Fiesta and complain that it does not drive as well as an Audi R8! I read trip advisor reviews before I booked and I felt guests expected so much more for the price they have paid to stay at the White Lion. Why did they not pay twice as much and stay at the Brudenell at the other end of the beach? - answer they could not afford it but EXPECTED the White Lion to be exactly the same

The staff were very friendly, the receptionist even moved her car thatwas parked in front of the hotel so that we could get a space (if you goto Aldeburgh, get there early for the free parking, we got there at12:30 pm, it was absolutely packed and had to park about 800m away anddrag our cases to the hotel). We only had the breakfast twice but it wasexcellent, the menu says you have a choice of fruit or cereal, fullenglish or haddock etc. but in reality you can have whatever you wantfrom the menu, in whatever combination :-). the room was verycomfortable although the window and wardrobe did rattle a bit due to thesea "breeze", soon fixed with bits of cardboard.

I loved this hotel. The staff were very welcoming and professional. Ibooked a double room with a sea view, which was comfortable and wellappointed, very clean and in good decorative order. The menu in the Brasserie is interesting and uses local ingredients where possible. I chose the fixed price menu which was excellent value and quite delicious. There was a good selection of wines available by the glass, 1/2 carafe or bottle. The service is impeccable. This hotel is a gem and well worth a visit.

This hotel was ideally positioned with wonderful views across thebeaches at Aldeborough. There was easy access to Aldeborough Golf Club and Thorpness is not toofar away. We would definitly have no hesitation is recommending therestaurant, having taken two evening meals there. We shall definitelyreturn to this hotel when we are in this area again.

The room was spacious and very comfortable. The hotel was comfortable with lots of areas to relax in. The hotel is close to the main high street for ease of walking to shops, restaurants etc. It is in an ideal location for walks to appreciate the surrounding countryside.
