As a family of five travelling for Xmas, this hotel was perfect. Very homely and warm and generous to its guests. The food was excellent, room very cosy comfy and spacious - particularly the triple room. On Xmas eve the hotel provided two horse drawn carriages for all of its guests, who were taken for a ride all over the city then to a lake for Xmas drinks, cakes and lots of Xmas cheer! The weather was abit of a hinderance as it was snowing and very cold but it was a very generous activity with wonderful intentions. Not a Xmas that we as a family will forget! We chose this hotel as it sounded authentically Swiss and it certainly was. Very unique in a modern world.

The view from the hotel and location of the hotel is excellent.It islocated 5-7 min walking distance from Interlaken west station. The hotelstaff and particularly the owner were extremely courteous and helpful.The hotel is very well maintained and has a beautiful garden too. Theroom was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was excellent with abathtub.The breakfast is included in the hotel price and has a lot ofvariety especially for vegetarians.

The park at the backside of the hotel is amazing and scored much more points than the hotel itself. The mountain view from the rooms are just fabulous, and is the charm of the hotel. The resturant is quite spacious and has sitting arrangements outside as well.

We got the bestroom that's facing the mountains and interlaken west station and theriver. Rooms are clean. Housekeeping was great and efficient. Alsonear to the halal kebab stall and shopping paradiseee. Even thereception is great. Love it

a good hotel for budget or backpackers.. the service of the hotel is very poor, the rooms are very small and the washrooms are not to be seen, you open the door and thats it.. the world ends there.. :D The location was nice, since it was just next to Interlaken West Station.. ( less than 1 minute walk).. The front desk people were nice and friendly.

The hotel has an excellent outlook being right on the River Aare withonly a walking and cycling track in front, thus being very quiet, but inclose walking distance to shops and restaurants in central Interlakenvia a footbridge over the river and also only a 15 to 20 minute walk toInterlaken Ost railway station. Our room (4th floor) had a great view ofthe mountains including the Jungfrau and a good sized balcony. The hotelalso has a very nice riverfront guests' lounge. Staff were all veryhelpful and friendly and there was a good breakfast buffet as well asfree tea, coffee and cakes in the lounge in the afternoon. There is alsofree wifi internet.

Interlaken is an excellent centre to visit the Alps. The hotel was only a short walk from the town centre and there are many restaurants nearby. The hotel is in a quiet location and the dining room has a beautiful view of the Jungfrau region. Staff were very helpful. We had no evening meals at the hotel which were limited. We met a couple in this hotel who had been to Interlaken for the past 16 years. Hotel parking a big plus. No traffic noise, occasional train and church bells ! Beds had prop-up matresses - wonderful.

We stayed for 7nights in a lovely room facing the river. The room had a balcony where we sat most nights admiring the view of the Jungfrau and hangliders do their tricks.The hotel was spotlessly clean, our buffet breakfast had a good variety. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated within easy walking distance of the town centre. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Interlaken.

After traveling across Europe for about a month and staying at mainly 4 & 5 star hotels, I can truly say that the Hotel Weisses Kreuz provided the most comfortable Bed I slept in. The hotel management were courtious in providingy family and i with 3 rooms next to each other so the kids could be close to my wife and I. The staff were very helpful in guiding my family and I to hard to find places, such as finding snow in the middle of July. Breakfast was a good mix of items suitable for our diverse taste. Overall, the whole family had an excellent experience at the Hotel Weisses Kreuz.

SpeciallyMr martin, at the reception desk was very very excited and ready to helpthe guests in every way possible without getting angry or frustrated.This I think is the winning stroke for Hotel Weisses Kreuz. People likeMartin can take the hotel to a completely new level in terms ofhospitality for guests. It was very close to interlaken west station and to all other paces we visited .The rooms were very well maintained and decor of the hotel had a character very unique. Everybody at the hotel were helpful and always willing to help us give information if required.

We love the hotel so much. Interlaken was the best destination from our 2 weeks honeymoon in Europe. Quiet location in Interlaken West (do take note to drop here instead of Interlaken Ost) which is just walking distance from a hypermarket, Migros (5 mins), Interlaken West train station (7 mins) and town area (10 mins), Great view of the mountain, Very good water pressure for an enjoyable relaxing bath, very friendly staff who is willing to tell you where to visit, good breakfast spread, PC available behind the elevator (must see) for your daily dosage into cyber world (get the mouse from reception). If you like clocks, this place is filled with antiques of all sorts

We stayed in about 5 hotels in Switzerland, and this was probably ourhands down favourite for atmosphere. Charlotte at the front desk was awealth of information, and gave us excellent advice on what to do.Interlaken is, thanks to tourists, a noisy city. The De La Pix, which islocated just five minutes from Interlaken West station transports youinto a quieter, more beautiful part of the town. Scrambled eggs in thebuffet breakfast was welcome, not to mention the charming sun room inwhich it was served. The hotel itself is full of old world charm andspend a few minutes checking out the collection of antique clocks, cowbells, slot machines and a wooden horse which are kept on the stairs andthe corridors.

Great location, only 5 minute walk away from the train station (Interlaken West). Staff is nice, the room was super clean and spacey -- we chose the superior double. You might not have the biggest choice of food for the breakfast, but it was high quality. Free wireless connection working properly, although coverage in the breakfast room is limited.

Well located in Interlaken, reasonable price (given the generally veryhigh prices in Switzerland), nice staff, comfortable if not luxuriousroom (we did not stay in the hotel proper, but rather in Suzy's b&b nextdoor, also owned by the hotel).

the hotel is wonderful with large rooms and a great view. the staff were very helpful to us, and gave us good suggestions. i also loved their breakfast; hot croissants!! a must-stay place and i will certainly visit again.

The Manager is very kind, helping and understanding. Hotel location. It is very close to a bus station - bus # 105 will take you to the main station (Interlaken West) where you can go to the other main station (Interlaken Ost) or to different cities. You can also walk to the West Station.

A friendly family run hotel, always willing to help and made sure thatwe were comfortable and were enjoying our stay, local knowledge wassuperb and gave helpful tips for getting around, the hotel provided uswith a guest cards which gave us free local travel on the trains andbuses which was a huge saving the cards also gave us free access to thelocal swimming pool which was helpful as we had our 9yr old daughterwith us, we would be willing to stay at the Hotel Derby on our nextvisit to the area, without hesitation we would say a superb and restfulexperience.

The Hotel Derby was a nice surprise for me. The hotel was recommended bythe Tourist office in the Zurich hb. Based on the reasonable price, Iwasn't expecting much. To my surprise, the room had a view of the SwissAlps and was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The hotel staff was alsovery friendly and helpful. I was able to use the in-room wi-fi to planthe rest of my trip. The Hotel Derby is walking distance from theInterlaken West train station and to the rest of Interlaken.

Large, old, rambling hotel with lots of younger guests (backpackers' hostel co-located). There is a nice atmosphere, which makes up for some of the older decor. Location in Mattenhof on the outskirts of Interlaken is very convenient to mountain excursions. Garden/pool would be lovely in summer. Plenty of space in the room - bathroom old, but very clean. I think that some rooms have been renovated; ours was not, but it was perfectly comfortable - with a beautiful view. Our kids loved the gentle St. Bernard in the lobby - all in all, a pleasant stay - recommended for families.

The room was quite big and the view from the balcony was spectacular. The bathroom was big and very functional. The matteress and blankets were confortable. The breakfast was decent and staff was very helpful in providing information on local attractions, restaurants, and printing maps off internet. They have free car parking. The location of the hotel is not terribly far from Interlaken. Don't miss the cable car trip to the Shilthorn, a revolving restaurant. The view from there was breathtaking.

Mattenhof Resort is a nice hotel to stay with family. The mountain viewfrom the hotel rooms are fantastic. The rooms are neat and calm. Therestaurant is also very nicely maintained. It was a good choice and Iwould recommend this hotel for all visitors to Berner Oberland region ofSwitzerland.

It is located in between Interlaken Ost and Interlaken West, 15minswalking to both stations. There is a big garden just outside the hosteland you can see all the high mountains in the garden. Lots of cows canbe seen there in the morning. It became a very nice view when this sceneis combined with all the mountains behind. The hotel staff is quite niceand welcoming. They have almost everything with korean languagetranslation and I saw a lot of koreans staying there also. Tv at thebreakfast area is showing the weather forcast of the day and live viewof mountains as well. Big kitchen with cooking facilities downstairs, wecan prepare our own food there for dinner.

We had never stayed in a backpackers accommodation and did not know what to expect as we usually stayed in hotels. The room was well maintained and clean and functional. The dining area was a hive of activities with people sharing their experiences, making friends or just hanging out. The location was right in the heart of the city and most of the facilities were with a couple of minutes of walking. The staff were very helpful and were more than willing to give tips, advice and assistance. We chose the place because it was more affortable than hotels. This is a true blue backpackers' accomodation and not a hotel.

The kitchen is well-equipped. There are also rice booker, washing and drying machine. Andthere is a children room for my kid. It is even better than 3 starshotel. It is close to the station and you can reach every part of the cityquite easily. The room was nice but a bit noisy during the evening (manypassers-by stopping and chatting outside the hotel).

Hotel staff were really supportive and nice. It is located at a prime location near the railway station. Room was clean, however it was small. It did not represent the value for money paid

Well located in Interlaken, reasonable price (given the generally veryhigh prices in Switzerland), nice staff, comfortable if not luxuriousroom (we did not stay in the hotel proper, but rather in Suzy's b&b nextdoor, also owned by the hotel).
