As we were travelling by train the location was excellent being only one minute from the station. We had a large double room overlooking the front of the hotel which was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb with a great choice of food both hot and cold. The hotel bar was open late into the evening with reasonable prices considering this is Switzerland which tends to be expensive. A few minutes walk into the town centre or could take the tram opposite the hotel.
Kayako  — 28.11.2011
The location is unbeatable. Just in front of the main rail station andBasel station is beautiful. The room is also very nice and clean, withwooden flooring and well equipped with tea and coffee maker, hairdryer, free wifi. The hotel staffs, especially 2-3 young girls whocheck me in were very kind and professional. They do everything to meetmy request and I'd like to thank them here. I changed hotel twice duringmy stay in Basel because each one has some inconvenience although theyare also nice, but this one (last one I stayed) was perfect. I am asmoker and these days it isn't easy to find hotel who accept me.Thishotel is non-smoking hotel but they have a separate lounge for smokers, gave me a room with balcony so that I can go out to smoke outside, inother word they don't treat smokers like criminal as many non smokinghotel do, all by keeping smoke free environment for non smoker. It wasmore expensive than the other hotels I stayed but for this perfection itis worth paying slightly more.

Every thing was excellent. The shower is a built room, two over one meter in area, not from plastic. I mean, the shower itself. The bathroom is much bigger. The shower faces a huge window that can be widely opened. Therefore, if you enjoy showering in pairs, this is really a shower for you. I did not realize that Swiss people are so romantic. The room has a perfect design and the blankets are soft and made of cotton. There is a free mini-bar for drinks and five free parking places in front of the hotel. You can reach the hotel with you car. Ask for instructions. Breakfast is excellent and you can get a cooked egg free of charge. You also get one ice cream. You can buy a combined package with the museum, which art lovers should not miss. The old city, at a walking distance, is very active. Go to the open pubs between the walls and river. Thank you, Schweizerhof. Thank, you Basel

The location was very convenient - right next to the main Basel SBB train station and the junction for many trams, including those going to the main eating and shopping spots. The room was surprisingly quiet despite being on a major corner. Free WiFi was a lifesaver. Staff were very helpful. We also sat in the bar downstairs just up from the street level, which was a nice place to have a snack and a beer before bed. Undercover parking at the hotel for 35CHF per night - while this is expensive, it was so convenient, and most other hotels in the city don't have this. Booking.com gave us a great deal on the price that even the hotel would not match! Good saving.
Phillip  — 27.12.2011
I chose the hotel for its location and previous good reviews. I wastravelling into Basel by train from Lucerne - just for one night beforeboarding on a Rhine River cruise. The hotel is perfectly located withineasy walking distance from the main rail station, city centre, zoo andmany other attractions. Public transport was just outside the front doorand is very easy to use. I like the way we were given (by the hotel) acomplimentary local travel pass which enabled us to 'get around' . Wefound it a quiet clean and comfortable place to stay. Staff werefriendly and very professional. I would love to stay there again.

The Euler Hotel Basel was the final weekend of two perfect weeks of life spent in Switzerland. My stay with you folks was the ribbon on the package. Do take into consideration I love trams and trains - what a location to indulge in both. The facility was top drawer and the staff was terrific. I'm a fan and have already thought of future trips involving the Euler. Thanx for everything!

The front desk staff were quite friendly. We went in June 2011 and therewas a ton of road construction going on in the area. Do yourself a favor- if you take a taxi from the main train station, tell them to go theway to avoid the construction. We got robbed on the taxi ride. The roomwas clean, the small balcony was nice. The breakfast buffet was good.Upon check-in, you receive a Basel transportation card to use on alltrams and busses. This was extremely helpful in avoiding anotherexpensive cab to the train station. You literally catch the tram acrossthe street from the hotel and it takes you straigh to the station inabout 7 stops. Great location looking over at Old Town. Beautifulsunsets on the Rheine.
Ron  — 26.1.2012
Position: Walking distance from all the places of interest in the old town; on the main tram route from central station, where the airport bus arrives, so easy to travel to and from airport by public transport; superb site on the banks of the Rhine beside it's oldest bridge with delightful views of the cathedral and old town across the river from the bedrooms. Breakfast: An excellent full breakfast buffet included in the room rate, whereas most other hotels in Basel appeared to charge extra for breakfast.
Ipek  — 6.1.2012
I stated at the reception also, the TV are very small.Turkish Star TV is not representing Turkish tv channels, I recommended one of the four news channels from the satilite..Star tv is disgusting and embrassing in view of a Turk..We booked for one night but came one day early and although the hotel was full due to a fair in town, they tried their best to give us the room we liked on the river side..Efficient service of the hotel.

The efficient warm welcome at reception was excellent on arrival and leaving the hotel the following morning. The bathrobes were such a treat during my stay. I was overwhelmed by the excellent breakfast that was prepared to take away with me as I left before the breakfast room opened. Many, many thanks!

Airport Hotel Basel leaves me such an impression that I am totally relaxed with all services avalable inside the hotel. I am easily touched by my coleagues and family members with telphone and internet. I can easily go downtown by public transit system. The most impressive is I can see different beautiful views from the room, with farm to the south, moutain to the east. Food in the restaurant is nice, moreover, food service is availalbe all day up to 12:00pm. Staffs at the reception are perfect, they always speak in good manner and make you comfortalbe. Free pickup to airport is more or less a suprise to me when I asked the reception to order a taxi for me. If I have to give some comments on this hotel, I will say I want to stay in this hotel next time when I come to Basel.

I had arranged for a free transfer with the hotel bus from the airport (although it was not clear that I had to go outside and I only just made it). Free parking in garage underneath the hotel and free public transport into the city which takes about 10-15 minutes. You have to pay for the more expensive room if you want a bath though. The room was spacious, clean and luxurious. Nice sauna area. Water bottles supplied in the room and the sauna. Lots of ice from a nearby icemachine. Windows could be opened. Airconditioning present. Comfortable beds. Initially I thought the hotel was expensive but in comparison with the rest of Switzerland it was actually not too bad.

The Hotel was just great, including free transportation onthe city bus and then our shuttle ride to the pier to catch our boat. The boat had moved so that we could not find it but your driver was verypatient and made some phone calls and located it for us.

This hotel was a fantastic surprise. The location wasn't the center ofthe old town, but in fact it was at most, a 10 minute walk into thatarea. Plus you get free public transport cards for Basel during yourstay, with numerous trams very close to the hotel. It is in a more'locals' part of town, with a good feel and close to shopping andsupermarkets, etc. The self-contained studio room we had was large andwell designed and had great facilities like dishwasher, iron, kitchenutensils, clothes drying rack, plus access to a hotel self-servicelaundry. They have really thought about what an independent travellerwould need. The room was quiet (facing the inner courtyard). Largeunderground security carpark was great (but not included in room cost). The generous 'Cinq Mondes' brand toiletry goods were a really nicetouch also.

The apartment was very pleasant, I have an older child and a youngchild, both of whom loved the room and the experience of an apartmentrather than a hotel room. The tam was very convenient to get all roundBasel and parking was available for the car at 15chf. Free traveltickets were provided for each of the family of the duration of ourstay. One point which we did not know when we arrived. ....The 15 /16tram takes you all round the city from just outside the door of theapartment. A very enjoyable stay. Also there are tea and coffee makingfacilities but no actual tea or coffee, so take your own.

The apartments are comfortable, well located and represent excellentvalue compared with all equivalently equipped hotels in Basel. We knowthe city well but first time visitors would find the location excellentfor seeing the sights. The facilities and services fully justify the 3star rating and whilst it doesn't compare with riverside hotels forviews,a short walk reveals all Basel's best bits.

Good location, by the river and close to town. Apartment containedeverything we needed (except can opener!). Nice quiet area and no noisefrom the other apartments. Everything was clean. We didn't see themanager at all, but he did leave us a phone number and so I assume wewould have been able to contact him if we'd needed to.

What a great way to see Basel and I can't say enough good things about the manager Karl. He was so incredible, helped us out and even personally delivered our suitcases to the river boat we were going on. I could not have asked for a nicer apartment, location or contact.

Nothing - in a very undesireable part of Basel. Landlord never seen and unable to contact. Only one key for family of 5 very inconvenient. Apartment was basic but clean. Not suitable for a disabled person as stairs!

I think for the price offered it has been all very good. I booked a 8-bed room but in the end we were 2 girls only. The staff very helpful, especially the German at the Reception. Take your Laptop, you got also free Wlan there. A very nice detail is that you get a free ticket for one day to travel through Basel using all the public transportation.

Very nice setting in a repurposed factory site. Cosy cafes, restaurants, brewery, recreation options as neighbors. We spontaneously decided tostay another night 10 min before check-out because we liked it so much. And that wa totally fine with the staff. They were super friendly andflexible. Free wifi is fast (at least from our room) and I worked overthe day from the patio. A ticket for Basel’s great public transport isalso included in the price for all days of your stay. I’d definitelystay at Basel Backpack again.
