The location of this hotel was excellent and just a short walk from the beautiful Plaza Mayor in Trujillo, where there are plenty of restaurants and cafes for those who prefer to eat out rather than at the hotel. It is situated in a former convent and the building retains many of its original features while incorporating all the comforts of a modern hotel. It has a quiet and restful ambiance and is clean, comfortable and tidy.

This is a haotel that oozes class as one would expect from a Parador.The breakfast room in the old covent is sensational and the courtyard isa lovely relaxing place for a drink or a snack. Our room was locatedaround the old cloister area with big comfortable beds and a beautifullyfitted bathroom. The pool area is nicely designed but not particularlybig it is busy as it was during our stay. Trujillo itself has awonderful plaza mayor with some great restaurants. However possibly themost impressive aspect was that, without any intervention from me, thehotel cancelled our bar bill (which was not inconsiderable) because theAir Con was not working correctly.

The ancient historic convent in which at least half this Parador waswell renovated some years ago without losing its charm. We were in thisolder part for 2 nights - the likely better choice of location in ourview. Our room was huge, had nice linens and enjoyed an excellent viewof rooftops and steeples of the old town as well the surroundingcountryside from our tiny window (no balconies here: they would destroythe historic architectural integrity and aesthetics of the building) .The hotel is well located - only about a 5-minute walk to the town'smain square. There was plenty of free parking nearby. The outdoor poolarea looked attractive from a distance (through the locked door whichprevented any access, this being perceived by management as the offseason, although day temperatures averaged at least 25c).

It was a very basic Hostal and few facilities, we had no hot water for showers but saw no staff apart from the guy who grunted at us when we arrived to hand us our keys.

Comfortable room, easy access to the Plaza Mayor where the buzz is e.g. la feria del queso, one felt safe walking around at night. Easy access to the National Park Monfrague and Caceres, good road network in getting there. Friendly staff and interesting building.

The hotel was beautifully decorated. Inside the reception area was lovely and relaxing and cool. The rooms were lovely with stylish decor and high ceilings. Staff were excellent. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The garden was a particularly welcome area to sit and relax, have a snack and meet friends. I would definitely book this hotel again.

This was our favourite hotel in Extremadura. Clean, ultra-stylish and centrally located - a few minutes walk from Plaza Major. The staff were courteous and friendly and the restaurant served excellent cuisine. Parking on site for a small additional charge and a small lawn behind the hotel with tables and chairs for relaxation. When we were there the jasmine was in bloom and its perfume suffused our large and airy room.

When we arrived in Trujillo, it was pouring rain and my son eventuallywalked through rivers of rain up many cobbled streets before finding ourhotel. The owner met him, walked through the rain, back to the car andbrought us to a parking place near the hotel, or should I say ''royalrooms'. We were made so welcome, treated to a welcoming drink in abeautiful drawing room.In our bedrooms,we saw outside the window, abeautiful patio, swimming pool, and trees laden with oranges.[how wewished it wasnt raining].The breakfast next day was perfect as was theservice.I Cannot speak too highly of the casa de orellana and would staythere anytime, even in preference to a parador or 5 star hotel.Walter,[dublin.]

The site was excelent, the staff very friently and the city of Trujillo muy romantico. Beautiful, good price and clean hotel in the heart of medieval town.

A lovely old building with cosy rooms and a shaded courtyard to enjoy the simple, but cheap, breakfast. Although I arrived very early the staff arranged for a quick early check in. The hotel is located in the old town, within easy walking distance of all the sights.
