We found the staff in this family run hotel very friendly, welcoming andhelpful with the host, in particular, speaking excellent English. Thehotel itself is historically an extremely interesting and well restoredbuilding with stunning views over the surrounding countryside andmedieval buildings of the village.

The hotel is beautiful- all has been restored in keeping with the history of the place. Every bit of Santillana del Mar is of interest and the hotel is right in the middle of the village, walking distance from all the bars and restaurants. The staff are lovely. We stayed five nights; it was a relaxing experience.

This is an exquisite hotel, completely belied by the description of Bed and Breakfast. It is perfectly situated in one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. The bathrooms are clean but not spacious. The hotel lifts the mood of all who stay there, other guests commenting upon how lucky they had been to have found it, a view my wife and I shared.

This hotel way exceeded our expectations. The breakfast buffet is delightful, and the whole hotel oozes charm and style. There is private access to the hotel through the pedestrianised streets, and secure parking at the rear of the hotel. We will definitely be returning.

An absolutely superb hotel. Beautiful village, beautiful room, public rooms perfect, stylish, comfortable, delightful and quite adequate for size of hotel (just 16 rooms). Lack of restaurant no problem, lots of restaurants in village, though in November many are closed. Excellent price.

In the hearth of a Medieval village Hotel Casa del Marqués is a charming two floor palace. Everyone was really kind and helpful at the hotel, the room was extremely clean and spacious and nicely decorated. I did not try the breakfast, so I can’t tell about it, but the common areas at the entrance had everything you might need:a computer with free internet, books and guides on Spain, plenty of comfortable and stylish armchairs. I also recommend not to use the hotel parking (10euros a night) but to use the p.

This was the perfect little town. The hotel is a old mansion converted to luxury rooms with great service. The whole experience is great and the location for seeing the town and Altimira caves is perfect.

Warm welcome, lovely room, spotlessly clean, a beautiful house in a lovely location with parking. Ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside or the short run into Santander for shopping or to catch the ferry. Jose Manuel was a very helpful host pointing out the local places to visit and his Wife is a superb cook. Everything about La Llosa was excellent and very good value for money

We chose this hotel as an overnight stop for the ferry in Santander asit is about 30 minutes' drive away. It is in a quiet location, hasexcellent parking facilities and free Wifi. The friendly owner, JoseManuel, was attentive to our every need, supplying an evening meal andan excellent breakfast in the conservatory. The room was clean andcomfortable with a view over the garden and we could not have beenbetter looked after.

The Posada La Llosa de Viveda was very comfortable, very clean and verywelcoming. The gentleman who ran/owns it was always available for helpor for service. He cared very much whether or not things were right foryou and was there to help with advice on things to see and places to go.It was also very good value for money, but the main reason we would goback was the quality of accommodation and the owner. In fact although weoriginally booked for one night we stayed for two.

The location is perfect, Wonderful surroundings, not far from La Colegiata, but quiet. The Posada belongs to a family which is very much involved in the wellbeing of the visitors. Their insider tips and friendliness made our stay in Cantabria unforgetable. We for sure will return!

Santillana del Mar is medieval magic and this quiet family-run Posada is part of the charm. The bedroom was comfortable; breakfast was minimal but adequate. There is an abundance of places to eat so the lack of an hotel dining room is immaterial.Parking is free and immediately outside. An ideal first or last stop from the Santander ferry.
