The Hotel Rua Salamanca fitted our needs ideally; a very pleasant, clean room located right in the heart of the old quarter of Salamanca, at a very reasonable price - particularly when you include the fact that a very good breakfast with lots of local foodstuffs and good fresh fruit was thrown in. We’d strongly recommend it to friends travelling to Salamanca.
Helen  — 8.7.2010
Perfect Location to visit a stunningly beautiful City - 2 mins walk from Plaza Mayor. The style of this small Hotel was ideally suited to Salamanca - vaulted ceiling in dining room - rich marble bathrooms. Taxi from bus station/or train station very reasonable - about 5 to 7 euro. Hotel staff were most helpful.

This was the biggest disappointment of our entire trip to Spain. The personnel at Reception were quite pleasant and helpful, but were of no assistance with restaurant matters, though they did the restaurant bookings. Though the hotel room was pleasant, the furniture was damaged and in poor condition. Other than the fact that the hotel was quiet, and the reception staff were polite and helpful, I can not find too much else to say favorably.

You can rely on both quality and a particular standard when you stay atParadores. Friends of ours had recommended them for a holiday in Spainand we haven’t been disappointed. The hotel is on a hillside overlookingthe old city with dramatic views and we were dining in the restuarantwhen the lights were illuminated on the monuments in the city. The meal was amazing, as it has been in their other hotels.

We used this hotel twice during our travels through Spain. The locationis excellent as the approach is easy from the motorway. Views ofSalamanca are superb although we didn’t need to travel into the city aswe’d visited it before. Have nothing but praise for the hotel, its’staff and the food served in their restaurant.

This is ideally placed for walking into Salamanca, which only takes about 10 to 15 mins - but there is lots to see on the way. We couldn’t get out land rovers in the underground car parking but there was plenty of room at the fuel station opposite so we all parked up there no problems. Hotel was good and clean, we ran out of time and weren’t able to make it for breakfast but I hear from someone else in the group it was ok. If you want a good hotel within reach of Salamanca then I would definitely recommend this one.
Anonymous  — 3.10.2010
We didn’t sample the food but the hotel staff were efficient andwelcoming and the hotel was comfortable and quiet with a style of itsown, not lacking in character as one review we read, said. Also, the airconditioning was working which was not the case in other hotels westayed in! Whilst not actually being in the city centre it was closeenough and had the advantage of having (although at an extra cost) itsown underground garage. A good hotel for a city or overnight trip.
Anonymous  — 18.3.2011
The hotel was very well situated at one end of the Puente Romano, so it was just a 10 minute walk and you were in Old Salamanca. Small comfortable Spanish feeling hotel. Staff were very pleasant. The breakfast was adequate but the choice was not as good as other hotels that we have stayed in.

The front desk staff is very helpful and speak many languages. The hotel is very attractive. There is a wonderful restaurant two doors down that servesItalian food if you get tired of boccadillos with jamon York!! The hotelbreakfast was very good with appeal for many nationalities. It appearsthe city is repaving the square outside, so it is a little difficult toaccess right now, but I think that work will be done soon.

It was located close to the University of Salamanca and the Cathedrals, and the Playa Mayor. All were a very short walk from the hotel. The roomwas clean and comfortable, and the staff was nice. There were many drawbacks, but being that close to all the action made it worth it to me, but it is a close call to recommend this one. Because of its location (once you get there) it is nice.

The location is lovely, very central on a little square. Room clean, simple, not luxurious but everything you need. fridge, microwave, cooker. Everything spotless. Clean towels each day. Very reasonable price. Asked for quiet room, it was, but got no view. The square was quiet enough even on Saturday, next time will ask for room looking onto the Plaza. Perfect for parents of international students visiting on a budget rather than someone having a luxury holiday: €106 for 3 nights. Really recommend this one. Walls thin, but that is Spain. Not a hotel, so no bar or sitting area.

The hotel staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. The bathroomwas uexpectedly nice, and it appeared to be recently rennovated.Although I requested a non-smoking room, it appears that other people onthat floor were smoking. However, I could not smell cigarette smoke inmy room (andi am very sensitive to it). The waking distance to PlazaMayor was at most 3-4 minutes. My room overlooked Plaza de Libertad, asmall but green park that - during the day - was anicr reprieve from thehustle and bustle of the Plaza Major. My room had a small balcony, whichwas a nice surprise.

The rate was extremely low for such a large room with private bathroomin europe. Front desk personnel spoke no english but were helpfulanyways. Location is somewhat near bus station and central city sites ifyoiu do not mind walking. Salamanca is a great walking city. Nerby weregrocery stores and restaurants. The room was clean but furniture wasdusty. Overall a good value.

Proximity - close to bus station and college where my wife had an exam. Price was reasonable for the room, which included a shower and hand basin. There is a nice restaurant the lady at receiption recommended across the street - they served us a 3 course meal including drinks for only 8.50 euro per person.

Good location for road access in/out then a short walk into all the sights. No traffic noise in rooms and secure parking nearby at resonable price. Cheap breakfast available in Bar a couple of doors away. Friendly staff.
