While in Spain we have stayed at three 4-star hotels and HostalSardinero. I can definitely say that we had our best time at HostalSardinero. At big hotels the customer service was pretty impersonal.People at Hostal Sardinero were very helpful, kind and accommodating.Upon our arrival we were briefed on where we can go for eating, shopping, sightseeing as well as places we should be careful in Madridbecause pick pocketing is a big problem in Madrid. We had to depart at 3am in the morning. First, the owner confirmed the taxi booking for usand when the taxi arrived accompanied us to the car at this early hour.As I was traveling alone with children, this was very much appreciated. The owner speaks pretty good English, so our communication was easy. In addition to excellent location (a short walk to Prado art gallery , plaza Mayor, and plaza Puerta Del Sol (subway), and depending if you get lost in the old town 15-20 min walk to Royal Palace), the hotel also provides a free Internet access.
