Our standard room was very nice with pleasant bright decor and the bathroom was spacious with a super shower. The breakfast had great choice and the scrambled eggs were delicious. Lovely Hotel. We had a huge terrace with sun loungers as well as table and chairs so that was a bonus I didn't expect with a standard room.We took the tour bus around for the day and it was very intersting a great way to get your bearings. We also visited the Prada Museum-please wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot to see. Wandering around Madrid from this central location was great and the airport bus stops at the bottom of the road, a five minute walk away, a 24 hour airport bus service bus service made our life easy. Madrid is safe and I didn't see any crime - having had my bag snatched in Barcelona I was quite nervous but relaxed as time went on. A lovely city with lovely shops.

The Ada Palace is in an excellent location on the Gran Via. We had a deluxe room with a view of the Gran Via which was good though small . Beware though as the sound insulation is poor and there is a lot of noise from the road outside. Breakfast was 15 Euros per person for a very good buffet of hot and cold food. If you go to a local cafe a freshly squeezed orange juice with probably cost 5 Euros so the hotel breakfast is quite good value. The reception desk staff were helpful and polite but the bar/restaurant waiters had the same un-smiling attitude that is common in Spain though they were perfectly efficient. Wifi in the bedropoms is not free and is currently charged at about 17 Euros per 24 hours. The hotel was very well renovated a few years ago and is still in generally good condition. I would say good value for a hotel in this location.

We paid a bit more for a Suite (Best Extra we have ever had!) so we werevery spoilt by the big extra room. We had friends living in Madrid so itwas lovely to have your own spacious lounge to entertain in.. Therestaurant on the terrace was a wonderful experience. Rooftop bar isexceptional and luxurious but needless to say, very expensive. If theprices were lower it would be packed and would lose it's feel of luxury,so I'd say go for it and just imagine you have paid a fee for one of themost super views and surroundings. The entrance is small and by no meansgrand, but the staff were very welcoming and helpful, especiallyChristina! Thanks Ada Palace, we will be back So convenient for Pradaand many others, Retiro Park is 15 minutes walk and like another worldfrom the hustle and bustle of Madrid City life..
