Hotel Alixares is very convenient to Alhambra, being within a few minutes walk from entrance. Signposts to hotel for motorists could be improved as the hotel parking is within the Alhambra parking complex (you have to go through the car Alhambra car park barrier if you follow signs from motorway). Hotel staff are helpful and rooms are small but very clean. There are steep climbs between Alhambra entrance/ exit and hotel-- taxi recommended if you dont like steep climb.
Inka  — 6.7.2010
The hotel was next to La Alhambra, which was convenient regarding our visit there. We had rather big rental car, and there was no suitable place for it in the hotel garage, so we could park the car to the Alhambra´s car park at the same price as to the hotel car park. The hotel room was clean and spacious and breakfast was good in Spanish standards. From the hotel there was a frequent bus connection to Granada city centre.

Hotel was within walking distance to Alhambra and Generalife. Hotel buffet good and several excellent ,yet casual restaurants within short walk. You can walk into Granada town and old town. Hotel has nice, clean pool and rooms very clean. Hotel staff multi-lingual.

Having just returned from 3weeks in Spain, I had booked a Paradorthrough Booking.Com along with the Hotel Saray in Granada. I thoughtthat the Parador couldn’t be bettered, however, the Hotel Saray wassuperb. On arrival at reception, we were greeted by the most delightfulreception staff, who spoke perfect English. They were a joy! Our roomswere very modern, with every facility. As the purpose of the trip was tovisit the Alambra Palace, the hotel was perfectly situated, a simple andvery reasonable taxi journey (5e) away. As for the swimming pool, thiswas an oasis! Beautiful gardens surrounding.
Richard  — 3.6.2011
We stayed here two nights in September and paid ec 70 per night, abargain for a four-star hotel. Asothers have said, it’s a short walk across the river to all the sightsof Granada. As in most of Spain, there’s no parking enforcement and wefound a spot on the street for our car, thus avoiding the ec 16 hotelcharge. The hotel restaurant looked awful -- a windowless room in thebasement with a vile-smelling buffet. But there are plenty of greateating spots in Granada and a coffee shop next door for breakfast.
Anonymous  — 23.12.2010
Hotel Saray was a great place to stay for touring Granada. The rooms were clean and spacious, and I liked the modern decor. There were 5 in our family traveling together so we reserved one 3-person and one 2-person room, and we were pleasantly surprised that the two rooms had a connecting door (since that wasn’t the case in other Spanish hotels). We brought a rental car to the hotel, so we appreciated their on site parking and their location which allowed us to avoid driving in the restricted historic downtown area.

Printout proudly hidden on elevator wall says that the hotel is toprated by TripAdvisor users for its price-quality ratio. Probably for areason - I have paid more for a night in much worse hotels in Spain. Theroom was very clean, and thanks to hotel’s location outside of citycenter, the hotel was very quiet. Hotel has its own parking and iseasily reachable from Ronda Sur without need to drive through Granada(which is very hostile to car drivers - mostly one-direction streets andhard traffic). Robert  — 3.11.2010
This hotel was absolutely charming: we had the best room in the hotel (The Tower Room - No 11) at a bargain rate. We cannot speak too highly of the helpfulness and courtesy of the staff of what is a genuine family-run hotel, and aesthetically most pleasing being buit around an Arabian-style courtyard. We would regard this hotel as an absolute ’find’ and recommend it wholeheartedly. There’s also an exellent restaurant 3 minutes’ walk away - El Aji - and another one across the Square which we didn’t try.
Keith  — 13.2.2011
Lovely hotel and rooms located in the old quarter of granada. a bus stops outside the hotelwhich is needed to take u on a 20 minute bus ride through narrow streetsto the palace, otherwise it would take at least 45 mins to 1 hour towalk! Hotel has car parking available next door which is very handyalthough approx 14 euros per day. wouldrecommend the hotel parking. in summary, excellent hote.

The location is extremely convenient for sightseeing in Granada and access to shops and restaurants in the centre. Plenty of restaurants and cafes close to the apartments. Parking in convenient nearby public parking costs about €24 for 24 hours with hotel discount. Accommodation is not luxury but comfortable, clean and spacious. Excellent support from staff at the main Hotel Nieves which us just around the corner.

We were a group of 11, travelling to Granada for a weekend trip fromLondon. The apartments were in a fantastic location - right next to themain shopping streets, a short walk from the Alhambra palace and theAlbaicin quarter. The staff werefantastic - the lady at reception helped us book a flamenco show, pointed out great bars / clubs on the map for us, advised of good shopsin the area, booked taxis etc. I would highly recommend theseapartments.

The apartments are part of a hotel situated nearby. We found the hotel staff to be very helpful and both the receptionists spoke very good English. We chose the apartment because it also offered on site parking which was important to us as this was just one stop of many on our trip. The partking was very secure and underground at the actual apartment. The apartment was well equipped, comfortable and clean.

We loved Casa de Federico! The room was very pleasant, decor was eclectic which we liked very much. Once we located the hotel it was in a good place to venture into the rest of the city. We felt safe walking around day & night. Good restaurants & tapas bars in area, too many to try all! The upstairs terrace was very nice, however, because of the time of year, we didn’t sit out there, it would be lovely in warmer weather. We would stay here again and recommend to friends!.

The hotel was lovely – the building is very old, but it that has been restored in a very slick and stylish manner. The rooms are small, but uncluttered, clean and tidy. The location is great, very central to transport / tourists attractions etc. The staff were very friendly, helpful and able to assist with any queries we had.

Polite staff speaking good English. Location of the hotel is the very best for sightseeing - at the river and Alhambra is very near - just take a close street up and in 7 minutes you are at the entrance. The hotel interior is very nice. My neighbors were quite and there was no noise from the street,.

The hotel is within a very old building and has a sense of history. The location is fantastic and the hotel looks up to the Alhambra. the only tricky thing was that we had a car and the GPS wanted to take us through a restricted area. We ended up using a car park about 10 mins from the hotel and walking.

The location of the hotel is ideal for walkabouts of old Granada. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel where the food is great, at good prices and is typically Spanish.
