This charming inn was a delight and my hostesses were very warm and friendly. It was near a small fishing village with great seafood and on the camino north coast. The hotel had a wonderful breakfast in a lovely dining room featuring all homemade local and traditional foods- unparelled breakfast experience in my experience in Spain! Rooms were well-appointed, clean and decorated nicely.

The Casona de La Placa is ideally placed for a visit to the harbourvillage of Cudillero. The staff here are really friendly and you aregiven a warm welcome and a brief tour around the hotel and itsfacilities. TheHotel has its own off road carpark and is set in a quiet location. Cudillero village is a great place to eat and drink with many fishrestaurants and a smart little wine bar.

The staff are very friendly and helpful; the rooms are very comfortableand the bathroom very well fitted, with a big bath and shower and verysoft towels. This was our second visit; previously we hadstayed in one of their self-catering apartments, but the hotel is muchmore luxurious. Free internet and computer use was helpful, too. Thelounges are beautiful and everything contributes to the sense of quietrelaxation which Casona de La Paca offers.

Hotel staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to show us where we could park our motorbike safely. The location is just behind the little harbour so a minutes walk and your there! Great seafood restaurants everywhere and a little Sidreria where you can try pouring from a great height!

That it was right in the middle of a truly delightful large fishing village. Within about 100 metres there were several high quality restuarants serving fish and shellfish. There are lovely walks and as the sun moves round different aspects are highlighted. The hotel is simple but clean and the staff pleasant.

Just off the motorway, handy for Santander ferry to Galicia stop off. Set in a quiet village, this family run hotel has excellent staff (who speak some English).The room was excellent, beds firm but comfortable, plus a very good buffet breakfast. There is safe parking by the hotel. I would recommend this to anyone - especially those who want to get away from hotel chains.

Fantastic room, hotel easy to find, great facitities and so close to the wonderful Cudillero. The hotel is comfortable, breakfast is very good.

We got a big room, and it was a lot of space. The breakfast was ok. Maybe the hotel is a little to far away to walk to Cudillero center.

Location of hotel is very convenient for the main road from Santander to A Coruna, (A8 -A632) but at the same time we were not disturbed by road noise -very peaceful. The room was excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with many delicious choices. A twenty minute walk downhill took us into Cudillero, the road is well lit after dark, where there is a good choice of restaurants and a harbour - but no beach.

The staff helped us by recommending trips. It was very near to the centre of Cudillero, with the port and cafes / restaurants a few minutes walk away. Basic comforts were good for a hotel in this class. It had some character.

In the heart of the village---unload your car outside the police station and church and carry your baggage 100 metres to the hotel and then park your car down by the quay. Rooms are compact but the tasteful and gay (in the real sense of the word) furnishings make them cosy. Bathrooms are well laid out.

La Casona de Pio is an exceptional small hotel in a charming, picture-postcard like fishing village in Asturia.If I tell you that our visit didn't start well as, despite the booking.com website confirmation, because of a mistake only one of our two reserved rooms was available on arrival, you will soon appreciate that everthing else was exemplary. We were travelling with another couple who then had to stay a few doors away in a neighbouring small hotel - I have to a say, promptly arranged and escorted to by the La Casona staff, who then couldn't do enough to make our stay both welcoming and memorable. Our friends were offered complimentary breakfast the next morning in La Casona de Pio, and we were all treated to drinks and tapas on the delightful hotel balcony on the evening of our arrival.Whilst this hospitality was in part by way of "apology" for the missing room, every other guest I spoke to was quick to talk of the warmth of the welcome, and the charm and comfort of the hotel.
