We booked this on the recommendation of our ferry company and were delighted with the standard of accommodation and its location. Our room was large and very comfortable, with views of the sea. The ambiance of the hotel was very pleasing. We would certainly use this again for ferries from Spain, and will consider other Sercotel hotels given our positive experience here.

The hotel was recommended as well situated for the Brittany ferries andit certainly made a great last night in Spain. Castro Urdiales is alovely small seaside resort with some great tapas bars and restaurants. Our room was V.comfortable with lovely sea views. Ignore comments aboutphoto being airbrushed. Yes it is an old photo before the block nextdoor was built but does not affect hotel at all.

The room was large and airy with a balcony overlooking the beach. Thebed, chairs, tv and radio in the room were all of excellent quality. TheSpanish breakfasts were excellent and the restaurant staff was helpful. From the hotel there was a lovely 15 minute walk along the beachpromenade to the center of the fishing village. The village Castro-Urdiales had several fine restaurants. Parking directly in from of thehotel (the "white" spaces) was free albeit there are only eight places. The hotel, however, also has a garage for a reasonable daily fee.

Once again used the Vista Alegre as a stopping off point going down to the Costa Blanca from the Santander Ferry. Ferry docked at 7:00pm, in the Vista Alegre by 8:15pm. Again made welcome by friendly staff.. too tired to walk into the resort (only 7 minutes) so stayed in the great little friendly spainsh bar at the hotel and had a very good selection of tapas. Beer and food very well priced.. as it would as the locals drink and warch the TV there. Lovely clean confortable traditional spanish room, good secure covered parking over the road from the hotel, and a nice little breakfast to start the day the next morning. Would recommend to anyone travelling down Spain as a great little inexpensive stop over. Easy to get to off the main motorway.

Booked Double and Single rooms. My friend from uk had been staying withus and wanted to travel back to uk by boat. We stayed here becausereturning to uk from Santa Pola. Wanted hotel near Bilbao. Sat Nav foundit easily and stopped us outside. Road was good although downhill andquite a few turns. Husband doubtful on arrival as Vista Alegre sign saidHostel. However, total shock inside, rooms excellent as weresurroundings. Staff very helpful. Food - Not being really into Tapas, the items tried were excellent. However, at breakfast I would havepreferred cereal and toast. But the Croissants, (chocolate and plain)were fresh and the Coffee and Tea excellent. Would wish for a restaurantin the evening. We would definitely stay there again. And would like tolook around the village which we could not do in the night. My springerspaniel liked the hotel too (and he stayed for free). Bonus bar etc.much used by Village Residents. Bonus - free secure car park. Managereven wished me Happy Birthday on s

For a stop over going to the Santander Ferry this was excellent valuefor money. The hotel/hostal is typical spanish.... A tapas bar next toreception with a nice outdoor seating area, spanish locals playingdominoes in the bar and very very friendly. Good parking outside thehotel and 20mtrs over the road secure underground parking available.Room was large and clean, Spanish tv, minibar and an excellent cleantidy bathroom.. All staff friendly and could speak enough English. Getthere early to walk into Brazomar seafront, a quality resort (7minutes)then along the seafront to the lovely old town/harbour of Castro-Urdiales (another 15 minutes stroll) paassing bars and restaurants onthe way.. A 3euro spanish breakfast value for money and enought to startoff your day. Very quaint Spainsh decor throughout the hotel .unfortunately stayed on a Sunday night so could not try their restarauntbut very good tapas selection in bar/cafe area. Good free Wifi ...Excellent value.and easy to find off the mo

New, clean, decent sized rooms, exceptionally professional and helfpulstaff (English was excellent and helped find restaurants open on aSunday and print boarding passes enthusiastically). No real character- modern minimalist design but if you want something good value as abase for a city break I think this would be hard to beat. 15 minuteswalk from the Guggenheim and 5 minutes from the old town. We didn'tbother with breakfast but walk out of the hotel past the casino andthere are 2 - 3 cafes who'll do coffee, croissant and an orange juicefor about 7 euros.

The Sercotel Coliseo is a super hotel to stay whilst visiting thewonderful city of Bilbao. The hotel's location is perfect. Everythingcultural/social is accessible all within easy walking distance; TheGuggenheim, The Museum of Fine Arts, Bilbao's churches, restaurants, cafe bars and luxury shopping etc.etc.. The hotel's reception staff werepolite and helpful, very professional. Special thanks to Daniel and histwo male colleagues (sorry did not make a note of your names).Housekeeping staff also deserve great praise, this place is spotlesslyclean and this is evident from the minute you enter the hotel. I cannotfault my room facilities, room 333, was not only very spacious, thedesign/decor was stylish and perfect. The super-king sized bed was verycomfortable, I slept very well. Wi-fi worked perfectly, as did theairconditioning once it had been reset. Despite an unfortunate incidentwhere I cut my foot on the bathroom door-stopper I did enjoy my stay atthe Sercotel Coliseo and will most def
