Friendliness and helpfulness of staff (they willingly arranged an early breakfast on the day of our departure; the hotel is plain and simple in its decor, but well appointed; we enjoyed our stay.

The fantastic view from the room/balcony with the sound of the waves crashing onto the rocks. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and bright. the accommodation was exactly what we required - we couldn’t have asked for more.

Interesting conversion of old factory, on the sea edge. Paid for seaview terrace, unfortunately room 2 set back so view blocked, you needed to get right outside to see the view, weather did not allow us to do this, pity. Hotel was empty so not sure why they chose this room for us. Staff on reception and in restaurant lovely.

Went to Funchal for the carnival and an absolute ideal location - almost next to the Municipal Gardens in the centre of town. Convenient for cafes/bars/restaurants and great shopping, handy to supermarkets - a large one in the Vine Hotel shopping mall and smaller one in the Marine Shopping complex on the foreshore, bakery also close by. Kitchen facilities convenient if you want to stay at hotel and cook a meal or get your own breakfast in. Staff were.

Fantastic hotel, close to the seaside, close to the city centre ofFunchal a minutes away from Madeira mountains. Despite being a large resort, you actually don’t see that many people. Probably one of the best hotels in Madeira. Strongly recommended.

Funchal Design Hotel was extremely comfortable, trendy and great value for money. The hotel allowed up to catch up on some much needed rest on our long trip around Europe.

Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Hotel very clean. If you are happy not to have a swimming pool andwant something central this is a suitable hotel for a short stay. Quietlocation no disturbances overnight.

I had a really lovely stay at the Funchal Design hotel. The decor of the hotel was great and the service was fantastic. Our plane was very late landing and the staff was waiting for us and were extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.
