Searching for an original accommodation in Krakow? Barka Basia is a guest house located in a river boat, in the Jewish district of Kazimierz. Barka Basia can be an affordable accommodation in Krakow from where to discover the second biggest city in Poland.

Amazing location! The bark is closely located to most interesting Kraków attractions, just next to greatest jewish area in Kraków - Kazimierz few minutes riverside walk from the castle and 15 minutes walk from the market square. The staff was really friendly, services offered were really nice. Breakfast (additional fee of 10 PLN per person) was fine. Services include also a restaurant on the roof of the ship giving very romantic atmosphere for a diner for two, with a view towards the pedestrian only love-bridge where people can put a padlock on with initials on it (can be bought and engraved just 100m from the bridge ;). About the rooms: not much larger than 2x2m, just a bed inside, but comfortable enough (do not expect a hotel room!). Toilets a bit rusty, but still well-kept and clean - but again it's a boat, not a 5-star hotel. Summary: really satisfied with the visit on Barka Basia!

The location of the hostel is very convenient. Only a few tram stops tothe main market square. If you are into walking, you can even get thereon foot -which would take about 20-25min. And to The Wawel, its a 10minwalk. I stayed at Barka Basia for two days on a weekend with mygirlfriend and I absolutely enjoyed my stay. I read some people'scomments complaining about the shared bathroom deal but I had noproblem with that. Considering all the people in the hostel making useof one bathroom, I was surprised how clean they could keep it there. The concept of Barka Basia (being on Wisla river) is another plusbecause it is unlike many places you can possibly choose to stay inKrakow. Nice and helpful staff that speaks English; cosy, comfortablerooms; definitely worth the price. What more do you need? Thumbs up forBarka Basia.

I stayed at Barka because it seemed cool to stay in a boat, but it wasreally good. The rooms were small, but it's a boat. They were clean andcomfy. The staff was very helpfull. They had this old guy at night, that one night was watching tv, and I just asked to see the tennisscores and he changed the channel and put the matches on and got mesome beer. Were even communicating a bit (thank you googletranslate...he spoke no english)
