The staff were very helpful. We received a free upgrade to a businessclass room due to there being issues with wifi in the hotel due toongoing refurbishment, although we did get a connection most of thetime. We had a great view from the 18th floor. The breakfast buffet wasreally good with plenty of choice. I noticed they even had a gluten-freeselection. It was close enough to walk to the National Gallery and alsothe harbor and there was a tram stop right beside the hotel for furtherjourneys. There is a metro station close by at the National Theater, where the airport express train also stops. You can buy 24-hour publictransport passes at the hotel gift shop or the nearby 7-Eleven. Also, there is a coach to the airport that picks up and drops off at thehotel, which we used for our return journey.

Without doubt the best thing about this place is the cocktail bar on the21st floor and the views that go along with it, amazing, the hotel is alittle out of the main hub of the city but close to the park where theroyal family reside, the concierge service is great and will recommenedand help book you into anything (mainly summer events happen in Oslo, and I found alot of the standard tours that would normally run hadstopped). The staff as it seems all Norwegians are extremely helpful andfriendly. Spotlessly clean (I was in the brand new wing so ask for arenovated room, my friends room was not up to the same standard at all). There is no spa or pool, the lobby shop sells papers from all over theworld and the hotel has a great couple of resturants if you wantsomething onsite.

We had a really nice weekend in this hotel. It is situated near thecastle and therefore very central. Oslo is not that big so manyattractions can be reached by walk. The breakfast buffet was fantastic! We had a drink in the Summit bar on the 21st floor. One of the bestviews over Oslo and Oslo fjord with an amazing sunset. Unusual forNorway, the bar offered some delicious snacks for free. We stayed in adouble room with queen sized bed. There was just one blanket because itis regarded to be a single room. I asked the receptionist about it, andhe told that there is a second blanket in the closet (and it truly wasthere). So there was no fight about the blanket in the night. I woulddefinitely stay at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia again.

The location of the hotel is superb as it is central to everything. Staff were very helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the choice of food was varied. It is self service so you can eat as much as you want. Because of the high prices in Oslo we were treating it like a brunch. The rooms were extremely clean The fact you could check out at 12pm is very convenient. Rooms are safe and secure and the hotel decor is attractive. I will definitely stay at the BWKJ again when I next visit Oslo.
Anonymous  — 12.12.2011.
It is an old hotel, very stuffy and noisy on the streetside. Thebreakfast was good and the hotel was clean. The lobby personnel wasfriendly but not forthcoming with extra information. The free wifi wasnot explained well and when I asked if I needed a password, they said, read the brochure. I did need one after all. This could be handledimmediately at check-in. A bit of a bother it was, actually. OtherwiseO.K. Some form of air conditioning would be welcoming.
Tove  — 24.10.2011.
The hotel is very nicely in the middle of town, i.e. walking distance to most offices where you may have meetings. A grand staircase speaks about an interesting past, and all hallways are very nicely decorated with paintings, old furniture, mirrors etc. The room was comfortable and the wifi good. There is a business center that you can use if relevant once you have checked out.

Situated in the heart of Oslo, Clarion Collection Hotel Bastion is close to Museum For Contemporary Art, Akershus Fortress, and Oslo City Hall. Also nearby are Nobel Peace Center and Royal Palace. Complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access is provided. Government-issued photo identification and a credit card or cash deposit are required at check-in for incidental charges. This hotel is totally non-smoking in all rooms. They are decorated in English country-house style, with some floral soft furnishings and attractive prints on the walls. Its proximity to the main station does mean, however, that at night there are sometimes some rather seedy characters on the streets round the hotel.
Tarryn  — 25.10.2011.
Excellent location, very close walk to city, very quiet. Overlookslittle harbour site. Beautifully designed hotel with lovely rooms. Veryclean, nice size and very quiet. For the value for money, this was thebest we have had during our whole 2 weeks across Europe so far, as theroom price included dinner and breakfast. Dinner was simple, with soupand bread and a crab pasta dish, with various cheeses. Breakfast wastypical buffet style with cold meats and cheeses, cereals, yoghurt, andeven warm selection of bacon, egg dish, sausages, etc. They also havetwo snacks during the day, pancakes or waffles in the afternoon, andsomething mid morning. Free tea and coffee all day. With all this, thehotel was very comfy, clean, and newly refurbished. Excellent hotel andwill definitely go there again.
Aoife  — 13.11.2011.
The location of this hotel was perfect; 5 minute walk to the trainstation, 5 minute walk to the shopping district, next to Akershus Castleand the Opera House, 10-15 minute walk to the University, City Hall,Nobel Peace Museum, National Gallery and National Museum. Perfect! Byfar the most attractive feature of this hotel was the 7am-10am buffetbreakfast, 3pm-6pm pancakes and the very tasteful 6pm-9pm buffet eveningmeal. All the food was of a very high standard and plentiful. Individualpasta salads and homemade soups were accompanied by handmade carrotcakes and individual brownies. Staying at this hotel and returning for"snacks" made our stay in Oslo affordable and allowed us to spend ourmoney treating ourselves elsewhere!
Lisa  — 6.1.2012.
The hotel staff were very friendly and offered great help. Oslo is very expensive. High street shops are more expensive than Ireland such as H&M etc. You cannot buy food there due to the expensive nature. the hotel offered pancakes in the afternoon and buffet in the evening with breakfast the following morning. the food was excellent and a better selection than I thought. Buffet consisted of starter salad, cheese, fruit, hot chicken breast with pasta and beautiful sauce mini desserts such as sponge and custard. Excellent as eating out is so expensive. Some reviews have mentioned the area is dodgy but it really was fine - just have some street sense. hotel is also very safe. Highly recommend.

Great value for money, given hotel prices in Oslo. Very helpful andobliging staff. Gave me a generous packed breakfast because breakfastwas included in the room price but I had to catch an early train (theyoffered to do this without being asked.) Good location, just tenminutes' walk from the train and bus stations. Even though thedormitories are shared, each room does have its own good-sized and well-equipped bathroom. Excellent breakfast buffet. The perfect hotel foranyone travelling on a budget. But be sure to book ahead - they oftenhave no vacancies.
Mary  — 5.2.2012.
Perminalen Hotel is in a great location, just off the main street inOslo. It was very easy to find, the room was spacious and very clean. Iwould definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. It cost around €110 pernight for a twin room, but that is definitely a bargain in Oslo - themost expensive city in the world! But don't let that put you off. Oslohas something for everyone and we really enjoyed our stay.
Ying  — 9.1.2012.
I stay In Perminalen hotel with 2 friends when we were in Oslo. Hotels in Oslo are extremely expensive. Perminalen is centrally located, about 10-15mins walk to the Oslo Sentral Station. Do not expect much as its more like a hostel than a hotel. If you are on a budget, Perminalen hotel would be good as transportation in Oslo is quite expensive. The breakfast spread was quite good too.

We wanted to be right in the centre of Oslo near the main street and wewere one block away....perfect! We were given an upgrade to a full onebedroom apartment completely stocked with kitchen facilities. The roomwas clean, well appointed and furnished. The buffet breakfast was agood way to start the day. We were within walking distance of therailway station where we arrived by train from Bergen and where we tookthe high speed train to the airport. Perfect!! The staff was veryhelpful with all our questions and had plenty of time for theirclients. Our two day stay could not have been any better in a higherpriced well-named hotel!!

Booked economy room, the price was ok but..... when we got to the room(after standing outside the building for about an hour) we were verydisappointed! We were in a basement. Room was smelly and dirty.Wallpaper was coming off the wall! There were pipes everywhere asobviously we were put in a basement. They advertised as 5*?! Who gavethem that!? On my booking it said room with toilet-NO! Toilet was nextto reception open for public so anyone could use it! No privacy! Notoilet roll, we had to ask for that too! So please be careful whenbooking that "apartment" do not go for economy room! If I had to rate itmy rate would be 0*! No comfort! No cups, tea or coffee?! When we askedfor a knife to cut some food we were given strange looks!
Maja  — 23.2.2012.
It was quiet, in other hotels I had often experienced party noise from other rooms in the middle of the night. In Catalina it was not the problem. The bed was very comfortable.

We stay in two different hotels in my stay in Oslo namely Perminalenhotel and Akers Have Apartment. My friends and I prefer Akers HaveApartements even though its further from the Oslo Sentral Station. Youcan either take a tram which is about 3 stops to Oslo Sentral stationor a 15mins walk to the Oslo Sentral Station. There is a supermarketbelow the apartment so its quite convenient if guests wants to cook.Akers Have apartments feels more like a home and have the basic kitchenutensils for cooking. You need to arrange a checking in time with thembefore arrival. There was no issue with us and the whole process wenton Smoothly.
Damien  — 4.2.2012.
Stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of November for a business trip. Was greeted by a friendly Hotel Manager Harald which was great and helped me with the free internet and a local supermarket around the corner. For anyone that travels to Oslo they will know that this is an expensive city, so to have these extras is a bonus. The room itself is comfortable, and very large, but plenty of room for a solo traveller. Internet was included and reasonably quick
Suhana  — 2.1.2012.
Hotel is only a few tram stops away from Oslo Central Station. It is conveniently located within range of halal Turkish restaurants (for Muslim travellers), along with a Halal meat deli and an import supermarket right around the corner if you're looking for supplies to buy to cook in the apartment. It is also within a quiet area, and you will definitely have some good rest in peace and quiet. Overall, highly recommended.

The best thing is that nobody can get such accessibility to such comfortable accommodation. Staff is too good and have human considderations. They arre friendly and best in the world! They show that Norwegian are best in Hospitality similar to Indians! The room service and cleanliness uncomparable. They facilities and services are too good. You don;t have to get early in the morning to check out. Check out time is very suitable for youngsters as they sleep little late! Excuse for them! It is 11.00 a.m. and hve ample time! It is in the road side and can walk in anytime. Move to interantional airports till 12 p.m. as you get tram till that time in the late night! So great experiencec.

Please note: We actually stayed 3 nights, not 1 night as my background info states. We had two separate reservations adding up to 3 consecutive nights. STAFF: The entire staff was multi-lingual and very kind. They answered every question, always with a cheerful attitude. And it was wonderful to see young adults so competant in this capacity. LOCATION: There was wireless connectivity in the lobby and an Internet Cafe on the block. Trams and busses stopped at the corner. A grocery store was also on the block, as well as a convenience store. ROOM: The rented sheets were very clean. The room was clean, including the bathroom.
