It was really a very good three star hotel. Indeed, the rooms are not very big, but in exchange everything is very well designed. Maybe besides the colour of the paint (which is simply a personal impression, not to be generalized), I couldn't find any thing to complain about. We used the sauna, we had a very good breakfast (it is advisable to book it "including" it), the tea and coffee were good and the location is excelent, with very nice clubs right next to it. I recommend it to everybody. PS: If you want a double bed, it would probably help to tell them ahead in the comments to your booking.

Sporting Trip, Playing at a venue 10miles away from the hotel. Whennot at sports centre we found a large park across the way from thehotel with lake and also an eat all you can Chinese Restaurant, notthat I eat much Chinese, but it is nice to have an alternativesometimes. The Food at the hotel was good, breakfast was great, and weenjoyed the bar and bar staff. Hotel is not too far (20min walk) fromthe town which is was nice.

We like: atmosphere, staff, servicing, breakfast was very good - delicious and at good time - till 10:00 a.m. The hotel is near the center. I walked on food. One of the most important thing - air conditioning system is perfect!!! I was not having health problem with mine nose. Me and my husband are relly pleased staying at this hotel. Free car parking is a great ++++. The special offer about the price via Booking.com is a great +++++, too. If we have a need to be in Groningen again, we will choose Mercury hotel ! Hello. I use to visit Truck Festival in Assen every year, as arepresentative of the Scania companies from Sweden. And now this year Iwanted to try another hotel which was also located closer to Grønningen.I was a little bit surprised that your hotel couldn’t help me with arental car, like the other hotels have helped me with. Now I got afterarrival to arrange it myself and luckily there was a possibility torenta car on the same street as the hotel. Service & attention, from the receptionist to the night desk colleaguewas 1st class,attention to the customers needs was superb, even down toensuring I had the right kind of pillow, essential to me for a goodnights sleep I will use the hotel again, great value for money.

Huge bed, very clean room and great facilities. The included breakfastwas very good. I liked the personal little touches; a bowl of applesnear the lift in case of a snack requirement and umbrellas available forloan (it rained while we stayed at the hotel). Great hotel, we intend toreturn next year.

Superior double on the 4th floor: large comfortable bed, large deep tub, nice bath items. Decent TV (not that we used it much), room not huge, but not cramped by any means, with a nice clear view out on the city. Location was perfect for the TakeRoot music festival in easy walking distance. Nice breakfast room, ample breakfast, pleasant staff. Notes: no mini-bar, no tea/coffee facilities in room; bar not typically staffed, but reception staff will cheerfully come and pour a drink for you.

The location is very good, 10 minutes walk from train station. Good value for the money, standard room is small and has 2 beds next to each other instead of one big, but we did not come to spend weekend in hotel so we did not mind. Bathroom was clean, there was shampoo, shower gel, hairdryer. Although the breakfast is bit pricy (EUR 15 pp) it was very rich (eggs, fruit, juices, varieties of bread, cereals, cheese, ham, croissants, etc.). We had a room at the top (7th floor) which has a nice view over the city.

We stayed as a family (my husband, daughter and I) in Groningen on the occasion of our son's wedding to his Dutch fiancee. The hotel was very conveniently situated near the Grotemarkt, which then gives access to the various buses etc which go everywhere. The Grotemarkt is full of cafe, restaurants and the shops are within east walking distance. The hotel staff all spoke very good English. They were always helpful, polite and knowledgeable. The rooms were spacious and well maintained. Breakfast was relatively expensive, compared to other local cafes etc, but that is common in hotels. The coffee/tea machine in the breakfast room seemed to block fairly easily, but as soon as a member of staff was informed of this it was cleared and fully operational again. Free tea and coffee was available all day. WiFi was free. Altogether a very satisfactory hotel. I would recommend it to anyone.

Location - wonderful to be able to walk into the old time, see the sights, shop and eat at nice restaurants. Excellent staff on hotel and it was beautifully clean with comfortable beds and warm rooms in winter.

This hotel was a five minute walk from the train station. The cleanliness of the room was superb. The service was excellent. Centrum was nearby with many sights, restaurants and shops. We would highly recommend this hotel.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The quality of breakfast was excellent and very enjoyable. The beds were very comfortable. Very much appreciated little added extras in the room such as coffee & tea making facilities.

We had a very pleasand stay at this comfortable hotel in itsadmirable city centre locatin. It was great value for a weekendbreak, though for some older people the stairs would be rather steepand the noise from the revellers outside a little intrusive. .Overall the hotel had a woderful ambience, the breakfast was firstclass and the staff were excellent. I would strongly recommend thisin contrast to more modern hotels.

We liked the atmosphere of the dining and lounging area, very spacious and with taste. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is near restaurants and shops, especially a good cheese shop a street away. Felt the sheets were clean and the place orderly. The buffet breakfast was nicely spread out. Pay parking was conveniently just behind the hotel.
