The service at this hotel was amazing. I have stayed in many manyhotels around the world and can honestly say that I have never been sowell looked after. The hotel is really close to the downtown, not more than 5 minutes walkto reach the Elise gate. They offer better quality and range of food forbreakfast, than an average Italian hotel. The hotel has a parking area for customer’s cars. There is a restaurant next to the hotelwith the same name, so they belong together. The customers of the hotelget 10% discount, and the food is.

The overall experience was excellent, with the location close by the train station and just outside Lucca’s walls, with the loan of the hotel’s bicycles to enhance the experience of Lucca, with the generous and fresh continental breakfast and the family feel to the staff. The hotel was small and thus manageable, the staff were approachable, helpful and knowledgeable,and the rooms very clean, well-sized, with good quality linen, with very good bathrooms with powerful showers. I had a great experience there, and no doubt will be glad to use this hotel again if I am in the area.

The hotel provided spme special touches that made it stand out amongst all of the hotels we stayed at on our vacation in Italy. We enjoyed riding the hotels bicycles around the wall of the town. We appreciated that the bicycles were provided free of charge and also that the hotel provided us with afternoon snacks and drinks. It.

This well placed hotel just inside the city wall of Lucca is a fantasticbase for a stay in this lovely and interesting city. Although our roomwas just down from the main hotel which was a bit annoying if we wantedto do anything at the hotel or go for meals, the room definately made upfor it. It was large and very comfortable. We made good use of thehotels bikes to cycle around the city walls and there are manyrestaurants, shops and interesting things to do within short distancefrom the hotel.

The hotel was ideally located a short drive just inside the city walls in Lucca. Quite easy to find with the help of directions from the staff (and a map showing our exit route!) and for 15 euros per day we could park our car in the hotel’s own secure car park close by. The frescos on the ceilings and walls of the hotel are charming. The receptionists were all very helpful. It is well placed for the main shopping area of the walled town of Lucca but in a side street so quiet bearing in mind the central location. They have use of a car park opposite the hotel which is very handy but I would imagine places are limited in high season.

Located outside of Lucca it is a bit of a walk into town, but Lucca is very flat so it is well worth renting a bicycle from the hotel and doing your sightseeing that way. The hotel is near a major road so there can be some traffic noise in the morning but this does make it easy to find and they have free parking. The breakfast is a plentiful buffet with an excellent range of food. Overall a stress free stay and a good choice for the touring traveller.

The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the centre of Lucca, it is quiet, clean and the breakfast was really good. Staff were helpful with directions to the city centre, and one in particular was very helpful with directions to the Villa Reale at Marlia, not an easy place to find if you are new to the area.

The location is perfect--easy to get to from the train station and inthe nicest square in Lucca. The hotel is quiet, both from external and internal sound. The rooms arelarger than those in many European hotels. Using the hotel computer forthe Internet was free--quite unusual in Europe. Except on Sunday, market day, the square in front of the hotelwas not crowded at all. My stay in Lucca was made pleasant by the hotel.

Hotel is nicely located in the center of Lucca, within the city walls. It’s an old hystorical hotel and for that reason all rooms are different. You can park your car outside the city walls on a public parking or in the hotel garage. We had to leave early and therefor had to park outside the wall, since the hotel parking opens only at 7:00 am. You can park your car in front of the hotel for a short time to unload/load your luggage. The hotel provided box breakfast, exellent.

From Mississauga, Canada, on a 3 week November trip through Italy we loved Lucca and definitely this hotel. Lucca is lest touristy than Siena whith the same or greater charm. This old hotel is exquisite in it’s Napoleonic decor, close to the train and central to the walled city and all the great shops and restaurants. The breakfast was also great.

La mimosa is a b&b located a 5 minute stroll from the walled part ofLucca. Without doubt the star attraction of this place is the incrediblehospitality of Guiseppe, the manager of the b&B. A perfect host, he willensure that you are looked after during your stay. The b&b is comprisedof a small number (I think four) of rooms that are very clean andcomfortable. Road noise may be an issue for some people, although thatsettles down later in the evening. We chose to close the window andsleep with the air conditioner on, and that turned out to be fine forus. Our room had an ensuite wc and shower. Breakfast was a simple butnonetheless fulfilling arrangement, capped off by excellent coffee madeto order by Guiseppe. We had a hire car during our stay, so it provedvery convenient to stay outside the walled area of Lucca and avoid thetraffic restrictions applying there. The hosts, Giuseppe & Stefano, are absolutely wonderful, and very helpful. My room was very nice, and absolutely spotless. The hearty breakfast was fine, had me going till the the evening, and - best of all for me - could be had till late. The bed was just as firm (firm, *not* hard) as I like, and I slept really well. I usually stay in hotels rather than in B&Bs, because past experiences in those have often been quite poor. 'La Mimosa' changed my mind, proving B&Bs *can* be wonderful - but it's all down to the room, and, most of all, the hosts. I will definitely return to Lucca - the city is so beautiful it deserves several visits - and I will without the slightest doubt stay at 'La Mimosa'. Thanks G&S for everything!

It was a very restful arrival in Italy, where I was travelling for amonth. I was lucky enough to be upgraded from a single room to anapartment, which was perfect for me as I was travelling alone and wasable to cook a few meals in the kitchenette and eat outside ratherthan having to eat out each night. The recommendations Stefano madefor restaurants were spot-on though and the walk into town not long.The bicycle hire was a real bonus though as in the heat it can bepretty tough on the feet (I was there in July). The internetconnection wasn't very strong in my room but I was able to log-on inthe shared space without any problem. The crowning glory of this hotelwas the hammock where I could flop after a swim at the end of a longday. Frankly I should have spent more time in it, and will certainlyreturn. The staff were lovely and I felt very at home, which is what Ilook for in a hotel.

The building has been beautifully renovated. We loved the bare stone walls and the exposed beams. The bathroom was a good size. Loved the unique touches in the room such as the metal helmets for lampshades and the iron bedstead. The swimming pool was just right for a dip when the afternoon heat got too much. The breakfast buffet was extensive and varied. The staff where very helpful and even arranged for us to visit the Puccini museum in Celle which is by reservation only arranged with the caretaker. We had been looking forward to our stay since we booked in December and it exceeded our expectations.

The hotel was designed in a very original way as well as the rooms. I definitely liked it! The pool area is also pretty good with a small bar. There is plenty of parking space. The hotel is about 15 min walk from the city centre. The surrounding area is not the most beautiful. We have got a very specious room at the ground floor, however, next to the very loud air condition generator! Also, there were some kind of insects which bitten us at night and left very painful, big marks for a couple of days!

We booked this apartment because we wanted some outside space to relaxin but still be close to Lucca as we did not have a car. It would beimpossible to find an apartment with as much space as this in Luccacentre and it is only a short walk or cycle ride from the town walls. There is a great pool area, rooftop terrace with lovely views of themountains and the apartments also have their own balcony or smallgarden. Perfect - loved it and did not want to leave!.

The place is was the other side of Lucca from the train station (Lucca is quite small) - 10 euro taxi between 3 of us so not bad. The apartments were the best designed and kept that we stayed in in Italy. The pool is small but nice for a cool dip. The apartments are a short walk from the centre of Lucca (aprox 1km to walls and another km to centre) and compared to all the other accommodation we browsed here I’m satisfied that they must be the best within their budget having stayed there.

San Marco Holidays was a very pleasant surprise. Hotel apartment only 5minutes away from the centre of Lucca, with just what we needed,aircondition, swimmingpool, towels by the pool, even books to read. Thehotel staff very welcoming and helpful. We chose this hotel to be as central as possible but with a pool; hencejust outside city walls. The hotel itself is nicely furnished and with excellent breakfast. Pool area although small was lovely. We put our chairs up on the decking and was great to come back to after sightseeing around Lucca.

We chose this hotel to be as central as possible but with a pool; hencejust outside city walls. The hotel itself is nicely furnished and with excellent breakfast. Pool area although small was lovely. We put our chairs up on the decking and was great to come back to after sightseeing around Lucca.

Villa Romantica is a very friendly, quiet hotel within easy walk of the walls of Lucca. Delicious. Lovely coffee too. The pool is very welcome after a day of sightseeing.

Excellant four nights spent here. The hotel hire bikes for 7 euro per day. its a great way to explore Lucca which is traffic free and flat. I would recommend this hotel and Lucca.
