3 Star Since opening in 2005 Ramada Viking Hotel has become the ideal base to explore all that Waterford and the - Sunny South East - has to offer. Unwind in the evening with a meal in Asgard Bar or Valhalla Restaurant or enjoy a workout or swim with the compliments of the hotel at an off-site leisure centre, only 10 minutes drive from the hotel.

Staff were friendly - especially at check in. Rooms were spacious. Satellite TV selection very good - a number of movie channels. We were travelling with a teenage basketball team and the hotel was very accommodating - allowing us to leave our luggage at the hotel after we had checked out. Hotel was also good value for us.

Over the last 2 years we have stayed in The Ramada Hotel several timesas my husband was a patient in Whitfield Clinic a few times. Thelocation of the hotel is so convienent to the clinic. As we are fromWest Cork, we usually stay night before appointments etc. I haverecommended the hotel to alot of people from the area who travel toWhitfield. The staff are always very friendly & so helpful. Keep up the good work. Margaret

We always stay in the Ramada when we go to Waterford, which is about once or twice a month. Their wheelchair facilities are very good and the staff are very helpful and friendly. This is not a luxury hotel but the food is excellent and the rooms spacious, comfortable and very clean. One has complimentary use of the leisure facilities in the Woodlands Leisure Club which is about 10 minutes drive from the Ramada. Waterford city centre is about 5 minutes drive from the hotel.

Occationally, you come accross staff who actually leave the impressionthat they care. It is a * star hotel. It is nothing near a **** hotel. It is a bed and a roof over your head. No more. A fair Irish breakfastis being served if you can stand the loud music. It is a very youngstaff. They have no idea of how to make guest feel comfortable. It istheir working area - hence, the play loud music (I actually love oasis -but I do not appreciate Oasis being played so loud in the morning, thatI can hardly communicate with the person at the other side of my table).

I really loved staying in the Granville hotel its was very friendly and relaxed atmosphere yet professional in every way, i would recommened the Granville hotel to any family thinking of taking a hotel break in Waterford as its very family friendly which is hard to find these days and the staff were very friendly and helpful i can honestly say i had a great experience there.

Clean . Well organised staff. Gives impression of "hands on" management aware of what is going on. Have stayed at the hotel several times only because of having family in Waterford and it is a good base for us. Had husbands 60th birthday party there Sept 2009 for large family group.Usually bring a car and Waterford is good base for visiting Dunmore, Tramore etc as we like rural walks with views. Waterford not good for shopping in our experience. Hotel suits us- clean, comfortable, food fine-portions huge- don't bother with starters if eating bar meals. Staff good and attentive.
Whitley  — 1.2.2012
This is an old, well-known traditional hotel, well maintained and quite recently restored, with a long historical part in Irish history. The hotel dining room is very nice, with a wide range of reasonable-priced dishes. The bar (pub) is large, pleasant, and well stocked both with bar food and drinks. Many of the rooms have beds for three or four guests, which makes family stays in one room (cheaper) quite convenient. There is a large public parking lot across the street from the hotel and the hotel endorses the overnight charges. The hotel is situated right next to the major Waterford shopping area.

A clean and comfortable hotel, great value for the money paid.Restaurant food was great quality and also value for money. The hotel islocated in a quiet residential area, a short walk (10 mins) along theriverbank to the city quay. Good location for a visit to the WaterfordCrystal factory showroom and city shopping, pubs, restaurants etc. I would recommend the Waterford Marina Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable value break in the city.
Breda  — 28.1.2012
While the hotel is situated in the city of Waterford, it is located in a quite street at the riverside and close to the people's park. It is also close enough to the main shopping area, Waterford Chrystal, Christchurch Cathedral and many good restaurants. I was very pleased with the room as we had a view of the river with no buildings overlooking our room. A river boat trip was also available near to the hotel's entrance which we took and enjoyed. The cost for staying 3 nights B&B with one evening meal was very affordable, especially being a bank holiday weekend. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the rooms where nice and comfortable. Their brown bread was lovely.

Having travelled on the ferry over to Ireland Waterford seemed to be agood first stop for our holiday and we booked a dbb package at theMarina Hotel based on previous reviews. The staff at reception wasextremely helpful with the check-in and with finding a dedicated parkingspace for us as the main hotel car park was already full. The room wewere given was a large family room with fantastic views over the marinaeven though we had only booked a standard double room. Travelling with ababy we did request a cot which was not in the room when we arrived butwas promptly put in whilst we had dinner. Our booking included a threecourse dinner in the hotel restaurant with a good variety of choices andfresh food that was well cooked and presented. We slept well andbreakfast the next morning was a good choice of freshly cooked food froma hot buffet as well as a continental menu including cereals, toast, jam, croissants, pastries and scones. All in all a very good hotel andgreat value for money, too

Staff were friendly, approachable and advised you on local places to eat etc as I arrived late and food area closed. Pool staff friendly, but the hotel room information to my knowledge, didn't advise hotel guests that they don't provide shower gel etc. at pool shower area. Hotel quiet and I was only person at breakfast.

Location, mainly, right in the center of Waterford, walking distance ofeverything and in front of the bus station which is why I picked up thishotel as I had to take a 5am but to Dublin to catch my plane the nextmorning. A bit noisy but rooms are cleans and relatively new, and forthe price I got and location, it was worth it.

River Walk Apartments was much more than what I had imagined. Seldom dothe photos represent the real thing but in this case it did. We felt athome as the apartment door opened. We were stunned by the kitchen comeliving area. It had everything we could need. The bedroom were clean andspacious with very comfortable beds. Each room had their own en suite.Again, bathroom was clean and spacious with a brilliant shower. We wereso taken with the accommodation that we stayed an extra day. Only for wehad to return home, we would have extended our stay further. The onlydownside was having to leave. However, it is our intention to return.
