The check in was uncomplicated fast and friendly. The room was very comfortable with a fantastic bed. Great choice of food for breakfast and plenty of it! Staff at breakfast were very pleasant. The hotel is located a two minute walk from the shoreline and a two minute walk from the town square. If you're driving, the Inishowen 100 drive is doable in a day but take your time and spread it over a couple of days. Beautiful beaches, spectacular countryside, seals in the harbours, people who will chat and not a motorway in sight. But take a map , a raincoat and don't wear heels :-) Visit the Doagh Famine Village for a unique perspective on famine and a nice cup of tea with soda bread. I had a great couple of days

The whole experience was fantastic, the staff in particular (especially Catherine & Daniel), my partner and I celebrated both our birthdays 6th & 7th April 2011 at the hotel and it is just a beautiful setting, beautiful staff and lovely hotel in every way.We enjoyed it so much and I told my dad when we went home and he went the following day and booked into Caiseal Mara that weekend and he & his partner loved it too.I will be recommending Caiseal Mara for a long time yet, the hotel should advertise more about the great location and food and staff and friendly personal service.
