Belvedere is in a great location, just a block away fromO'Connell street. The rate was great (US$86/night): I have recently paid much more for a lesser hotel in Miami Beach. I stayed on room 226 and it was very spacious with 2 windows. Even though it is a smoking room, I couldn't tell it. I'm a non-smoker and was assigned to it on my first night until a non-smoking room was available -- I decided not to switch rooms. The staff is friendly and addressed any concern I had satisfactorily.

The double room I stayed in was very comfortable and clean, even thought I can't say it had much of a view. Also,I travelled alone - for two people with large suitcases the room could be a bit small. The spacious bathroom with a bathtub was a nice bonus, though. The hotel breakfast was excellent and kept me going til afternoon. The location is not too bad,for example the Hugh Lane Gallery is right around the corner.I'd definitely stay there again.

When I was thinking of booking the hotel the reviews were very mixed, soI was unsure but I decided to give The Castle Hotel a chance and I amvery glad I did. The castle hotel is in a Georgian building so I was not expecting a modern chrome hotel, some of the reviews said worn and run down but I personally would say lived in and a cozy décor. The warm welcome and service from the staff was 2nd to none and they could not be more helpful and friendly. The room was clean and very comfortable, and the bathroom although small, had everything you would need, Shower, toilet, sink and toiletries. The highlight of my stay above all else was the food, we decided the stay at the hotel for dinner as there was live Irish music which made for great entertainment and I am glad we did because I cannot praise the food enough…Fantastic!!!! The next time I come to Dublin I will certainly be choosing the castle hotel again.

The staff were very accomodating and friendly from reception to the barstaff. We were able to check into our rooms when we arrived which wasbefore check in time which made it easier not to carry our bags aroundDublin as they were heavy. The rooms were clean, the double room was a lovely size as was the single. My request for the double and single room to be together and on a lower floor was granted which made things easier for us all. Tea and coffee in room was nice so you could make a drink whenever you wanted one. Bed was very comfortable. I would book this hotel again if I came to Dublin and I would recommend to my friends. The location to O'connell street was just right didn't have to walk to far from the hotel to go shopping or go in bar or cafe.

Had very pleasant stay. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Was inhotel many years ago and refurbishment is spot on. Was particularlyimpressed by the food. Had 2 dinners in the Vault restaurant. Everythingwas beautifully cooked. Didn't get that complimentary drink mentionedeither night? The cooked breakfast was one of the best I've ever eatenand I've stayed in much pricier/more stars hotels in Ireland. You priceof 162 euro for 3 nights was wonderful value. Complementary newspapernice touch. Weather was foul, not your fault, but given decent umbrella. Please pass on my compliments to your chef. Probably will be over fromLondon early December.

The room was definitely the best part. It was really lovely in the room, well designed and large. It had a full flat screen TV which is oddly a luxury when you're used to small dinky TVs in hotel rooms. The covers on the bed were well done and not the scratchy, itch-tensive sort which is bog standard in hotels these days, including the so called boutique hotels. The bathroom was amazing really, with angled walls, hidden entrance and full stand in shower, large by any standard (and a window into the bathroom area from the bedroom, over to the side, and hidden enough to scare the crap out of your loved one when they are not expecting it). The staff was friendly as well. There is a luas stop just in front, literally, right in front of the hotel and right across from the O2 arena. Even with a concert going on that night, we did not hear a thing. Overall, the best hotel we have stayed in while in Dublin for the weekend stays.

The hotel has a modern, clean look. The room was lovely, and the bed wasvery comfortable. The staff was very courteous and answered allquestions with a smile. The hotel is a good distance from the citycentre, but there is a Dart station right across the street. There isalso a bus stop that makes travel to and from the airport quite easy. Ithink you would have a hard time finding another hotel of this qualitycloser the city centre that could match the Gibson's rates. Bottomline...if you don't mind taking a tram/bus/taxi to get you a littlecloser to the city's main attractions, the Gibson is probably the bestvalue for your money while in Dublin. It should also be noted that theo2 is across the street, making the Gibson the place to stay if you'revisiting for a concert there. Cheers!
David  — 8.3.2012.
The hotel is right next next to the final stop on the tram system allowing easy access to Dublin city centre. The staff I found were extremely pleasant and accommodating providing free access to wifi, storing our bags till late at night after check out and offering to call us taxi to the airport. Simple things however lost generally in this modern age. We did receive a discount through booking through hotels.com so review is also based on what we actually paid. Finally room was spotless and with such a new hotel all areas were fresh looking and vibrant. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay again
