We liked the position of the Trident Hotel and also the rooms were verynicely decorated and very clean also the bathroom. However, we felt thatthe reception lady was not very helpful on our arrival late in theevening, despite the fact we had phoned ahead to say we would be latearriving. We were unable to get a meal, only a toasted sandwich whichwas disgusting! The lady in the bar said we would be better to havecoffee in our rooms as the machine was turned off. The cleaners were inand they were stacking the chairs. Surely in a hotel the bar area shouldbe functional until at least midnight for guests. The breakfast was alsodisgusting and my mother and myself didn't eat the cooked breakfast.Don't know where this hotel gets its Gourmet Label!!!

While there was a mix up with our reservation on arrival, thereceptionist rectified it immediately, upgrading us to a junior suitefor the rest of our stay which was more than we expected. All the staffwere friendly and accommodating, the food was good and though breakfastfinished at 10:30am, the cold buffet was replenished right up until thenand not whipped away immediately as happens at some hotels. Wethoroughly enjoyed our stay and have no hesitation in recommending it.

If you want an excellently run hotel, in a really beautiful locationlook no further than the Trident Hotel in Kinsale. We will certainly bereturning. The only negative thing we can say was the weather was awfulbut if we enjoyed it as much as we did in the rain, imagine what itwould be like in the sunshine.

This hotel surpassed all my expectations, as I was a little dubiousbased on many reviewers negative opinions. The staff could not have beenmore helpful. We had requested an early check-in as we were arriving inKinsale early in the morning, and on arrival were delighted to find thatthat room was in fact ready, despite the hotel being booked up the nightbefore. A beautiful view overlooking the harbour. Room was clean, comfortable and cosy. Bar and lobby downstairs were lovely to lounge in.Fantastic price in a fantastic location. Breakfast was inclusive, andvery enjoyable in a lovely dining room. Was extremely satisfied with mystay here.

We found the hotel staff very friendly. The breakfast was very good andthe waiting staff were also very friendly. The leisure centre wasaverage in that it could do with a bit of a make over. The steam roomwasnt working but the oudoor hot tub was fab. Staff there alsio verynice. The hotel room while it was comfortable and clean was a bit dated. In all would stay there again, good value for money. Thank you.

Memories of many previous stays 1987 to 2001. The place has fallen intodisrepair and is a mess. Very very dissapointed with Actons hotel theirreception and bar staff. Breakfast was the only thing half right andeven it was poor by kinsale standards, after all Kinsale sells itself asthe gourmet capital of Ireland......Very dissapointed.

I loved the nautical theme the rooms brought and the whole guest house ambience is actually more appealing and 'homely' than a straight hotel. The location of the White House is excellent and the adjoining restaurant is an excellent choice for seafood lovers. I also found the staff to be very friendly.
Janice  — 28.2.2012.
