This hotel is only fit for hen parties, we had to change rooms becauseof the noise which went on most of the night. Next morning the hens werein the dining room dressed in P.J.S. While the staff were very nice, westill felt that the hotels main focus was the larger groups. Would notsuggest this hotel for couples.

My wife and I discovered the Kilkenny Hibernian through Booking.Com,while planning a 9-day self-guided holiday in Ireland. It was adelightful surprise. In addition to the clean and well-appointed room, the included breakfast was splendid. As an additional bonus, we turneddown other local sites to eat dinner in the hotel's restaurant. The 3-course meals were amazing and the included wine perfect. The only sadnews is that we moved on after a single night.
Breda  — 4.12.2011
Parking is opposite the hotel and free from 6pm to 12 noon the following day.the location is excellent.you can walk to all the restaurants ,shops etc.If you fancy some fresh air and exercise the beautiful Kilkenny castle allows access to a large park and wildlife pond.we ate in the hotel bar late and the salmon was delicious. For coffee, handmade chocolates or something more substantial you must visit Cafe Mocha. All in all,Kilkenny is ideal for a break and I hope hotels will follow the Hibernian example by lowering prices.People are working harder, worrying about the future and need short breaks even more than before.Thank you Hibernian from a very satisfied customer.

What I liked best. Located in the City Centre but quiet and overlookingthe river and Kilkenny Castle, which was just beautiful. The food wasGourmet through and through, full marks for presentation and flavour. The staff were very helpful. I was able to park my car at the front doorof the hotel. Arrived early for check-in but rooms were ready. I had tworooms booked. We only stayed one night but would certainly stay thereagain when in Kilkenny. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Susan  — 29.1.2012
I was so pleased with this hotel, from its excellent location, in the heart of the city and a prime location on the river opposite the castle. Close to everything cultural or otherwise, to the value for such quality hotel. A 4 star with lovely rooms, pool & spa, free in room movies, even the car parking was reasonably priced at 5 euro for 2 days. Unfortunately we didn't eat in the dining room, but I gather its won awards. The breakfast was very nice. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. You can't go wrong in this lovely hotel.
Mrs  — 8.1.2012
This hotel has the friendliest, most accommodating staff, and nothing istoo much trouble. Loved to swim a few lengths, relax in the jaccuzzi, then in the steam room; repeat as often as possible as pool/spa are openall day during the summer. We checked the Rivercourt's position onGoogle, so the rather discreet arched entry (immediately prior to thebridge on the left) was relatively easy to find, a warm welcome after along drive was much appreciated and our room suited us down to a T. Thehotel's location made shopping, sightseeing, eating/drinking out asamenable as was possible for 2 seniors with walking difficulties in thisfascinating city.

The Newpark hotel is in a great location. It's not right in the centrebut easily accessible by foot and taxi. Hotel rooms are large andspacious. Receptionist on arrival and departure were friendly, quick andefficient. This was my second stay at the Newpark hotel and whenreturning to Kilkenny again I'll be sure to make it a third!
Anonymous  — 19.1.2012
i stayed at the newpark last weekend for a wedding. Staff and service was excellent and indeed flawless. Hotel in general recieved a face lift since my last stay some years back and found the new look much iimproved, classic and clean-rooms are exceptionally comfortable. For a 4 star hotel, i would be expecting a hotel spa as to validate the price per rooms

We booked Hotel Kilkenny from the internet not knowing anything aboutthis hotel. We booked bed and breakfast in a Deluxe room as it was thelast night of our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. Our room had alovely balcony, relaxing athmosphere and was very modern in decor. Thehotel is located about 15 minutes walk from the city which is great forthe nightlife. We did not get a chance to visit the pool area but theladies in the beauty rooms were more than helpful with treatments thefollowing morning. Overall a real feel good factor here, would love tosee it with all the Christmas decorations in place!!

The Hotel Kilkenny is beautiful. However the thing I liked most about this hotel was the staff. From the moment we set foot in the foyer, without exception, each member of staff we encountered was truely lovely. Never have I met such a great team of people. Nothing was a problem and they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We ate in the bar/restaurant. The meal was excellent and the young bar staff were extremely attentive with my elderly Mother, The reception suggested a music venue and organised the taxi. It was the best night out we had in Ireland. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough and look forward to returning during my next visit to Ireland.

Kilkenny is always a difficult city for hotels. Proximity to centre of town is excellent combined with a reasonable rate compared to other city centre hotels who are outrageous during the comedy festival. Its a traditional Irish hotel, old-fashioned but clean and comfortable so Americans or those used to boutique hotels may not be happy. Breakfast good.
Anonymous  — 26.2.2012
Great old hotel in the heart of the city. The staff was excellent and gave that personal touch. Breakfast was superior as you had a choice of full irish or just a selection of breakfast foods - all included in the price of the room (€80 for double). Car park is free and located in the back of the hotel. There are some newer rooms on offer, so ask for one of them when booking.
Michala  — 29.11.2011
Great location, very close to shops and tourist attractions such as thecastle. The hotel is one of the oldest in the city and has retained manyof the original featues. Some peolpe might call it old fashioned but wethought it had a charming and cosy atmosphere. The staff were friendlyand helpful and the rooms were spacious and very clean, with the mostcomfortable hotel bed i've ever slept in! Would definitely book here thenext time we're in kilkenny.

The location is a simple 10 minute walk to the very centre of Kilkenny. The people who run the guest house are nothing short of terrific - friendly, warm and helpful.

We were 3 ladies who loved the hospitality of the San AntonioGuesthouse. Our triple room was delightful, bright, and cheery. Thebathroom was decorated with new tile and our room was spacious so thatwe were not on top of eachother. The owner is a lovely lady and washelpful in showing us restaurants within walking distance. We had arental car so I am not sure about buses. However, we could have walkedinto old town in about 20 min if we had chosen to do so. As it was, itwas about an 8 min drive to the nearest city parking lot and downtown.Very convenient. Breakfast was very good and made to order. This was avery quiet place in which to stay.
