Lovely location, near to the city but far enough from the noise and thecrowds. They made delicious mojitos and the music in the piano bar wasreally nice. The Toulouse Rugby team were staying in the hotel soneedless to say there were hot French men everywhere!!! Got great advicewhen checking in as to what pubs and restaurants were the best aroundand they didnt disappoint. Lovely hotel to stay in.

We knew what we would be getting. Beds were comfortable, quality, clean, service. There were very few hotels or B&B's available by the time wedecided to book because there was a festival that weekend. We had hopedto spend less for a place to stay, however, the places that wereavailable were risky, so we went for the more expensive place because weknew it would be quality.

This hotel suited my needs as I was in Galway to settle my son incollege, which was only up the road from the hotel. The hotel was veryreasonably priced and the standard was high for that price. It isgreat location for a city break being so close to the center with agood bus service plenty of taxi or even a short stroll if you feel soinclined. The staff were friendly and helpful with any of my requests.Galway is a great city to visit at any time and the night I spentthere it was buzzing as usual. Enjoyed my stay and will use the hotelagain when visiting.

This hotel is very convient to town, its only a few minutes bus journeyand you save on parking fees and the hassle. Its a comfortable hotelwith some old charm pictures and painting'S. They serve a lovely carverydinner with a nice atmosphere for race week. Our hotel bedroom was verycomfortable and clean. It didnt have a bath so you may want to enquireat time of booking. They had a generous buffet breakfast and took anyspecial requests. They also had complementry "bloody mary" at breakfasttime, during raceweek, if your able for it.

I stayed here as part of a trip to Galway with a few friends and bookedthe hotel because it was the last sub 100eur room I could find. I wasn'texpecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly andhelpful, the rooms are nice and adequately furnished and the breakfastand bar food was also above average. If you want to pay more you canchose a hotel closer to Eyre Square bit if you don't mind a short taxiride (approx 2miles) then you can't go far wrong with this hotel.

The staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed on my own the first nightand the hotel felt very safe. I was happy to note that one needed toinsert room card into lift to be able to access rooms. Breakfast was notincluded in the price but as I had an exam in nuig I had breakfast inthe hotel, despite the misleading info in hotel room brochure, whichindicated that I would pay €18.50 for continental breakfast! The foodwas really lovely-there is an emphasis on organic food and you can tastethe difference. I had fruit salad-there were 4 other types of fruit-porridge,organic yogurt, wholemeal toast and cheese, as well as doubleespresso and a pot of tea. There was a great choice ofcereals, breads, scones, croissants etc.and teas and coffees, without evenlooking at cooked breakfast option. I paid €8.50 on departure andthought it great value. The downstairs toilets were very well maintainedand clean.Hotel is central and has a warm and cosy athmosphere-when Istayed (midweek)there were older couples and

We stayed for the first time last week-end for one night only, however Imust say that we get around a lot of Hotels and your Hotel onecertainely be one that we would come back to and i'd would have nohesitation in recommending your Hotel to anyone. We had a meal in thebar on Friday and Breakfast on Saturday morning and the staff in bothplaces were excellent very helpful and very plesant, also the same forthe check in staff on Friday the car park was a slight problem but thatwas sorted out very quickly.

A very elegant hotel where you are made to feel extremely comfortableand welcome. I have eaten there many times, but had never stayedovernight, as I used to live nearby. I will definitely stay there againwhen in Galway. Very central location. Another big plus - unlike mosthotels, the room was cool (not cold, just pleasantly cool) with theoption to adjust the air conditioning. I normally find hotel bedroomsvery stuffy - not the case here.

Clayton Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff wasfriendly and responsive. I couldn't figure out how to turn a light on(it needed a room key in a slot) and they sent a representativedirectly to the room to help within a min or two. Everything was rightabout this stay. I wanted to be close to Galway but far enough for easyaccess to the hotel with a car. We taxied in to the city for 12 Euro(average) and sometimes waited for the bus for 1.60 Euro, which isexactly right outside the hotel. Great launching pad for day trips byrental car as well.

I chose this hotel because of it reputation and location. I requested anearly check in and the reception staff did everything they could toaccommodate my request. The staff member at reception who checked me inwas very friendly and helpful. My room was very spacious and clean. Agreat selection of tv channels were available and free internet. ( a lotmore hotels should offer free wi-fi.!!!) The bathroom was spacious andit had a brilliant shower. I did not eat at the hotel so I cannotcomment on the food. Overall a very good hotel that I would recommend.

The reception staff were excellent in accommodating my needs, especially during such a busy weekend. I had a reservation for sunday night, but arrived in Galway on friday and booked friday morning for that night.I couldn't get a booking for saturday night as the hotel was full but I asked to be considered for any cancellation that might occur. Also, I arrived alone but my husband and daughter were to join me on sunday night. The staff found me a cancellation on saturday morning, and did a lot of juggling to get me a room on the top floor that would also accommodate my family when they arrived on sunday so that I wouldn't have to move rooms again. Not only that, it was all done with a smile. The hotel facilities and rooms are fab, and absolutely spotless. I really loved the pool area, so bright, spacious and clean. Well done, I will definitely be back.

Delighted with my room overlooking Galway Bay. Even though there werefunctions on in hotel at night no noise carried into my room. Foodserved in the bar was quite delicious also all staff I came in contactwith (reception, dining room and bar staff) were all pleasant, courteousand very professional. This was my first time staying in the Salthillhotel but it certainly will not be my last. I have been a frequentvisitor to Galway over the years and I was determined to stay since itwas renovated about two years ago and I am certainly glad I did.

The apartments were very spacious and luxurious, ideal for a family who don't want to be separated in hotel rooms. Loads of space and a home from home really. Toiletries, washing up liquid etc. were provided. Loads of wardrobe space. The roof top terrace is fabulous with views all over the city. Also the secure parking was great. I would certainly stay there again and would highly recommend them. We ate in the Western Hotel, 2 mins from the apartments and the food was excellent and good value for money. The dining room staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartments are very central to everything and just at the top of Eyre Square.

Spent 3 nights in the Citypoint apartments with my wife and our 1 year old. Had a two bedroom apartment with great views of galway city and which was ideal for the little fella. He loved tipping around in his walker as he had so much room! Fab apartments, great facilities,Brilliant location,`very safe, your given a zapper for the gate to get into the underground car park and a code for the door into the lift and also on to the street. Loved my few days there and it made holidaying with an infant a pleasure which we all know...is not always the case and it can all depend on the accommodation!! Will definitely stay again!

This was an excellent hotel for 4 people to stay. It was roomy, spotlessly clean and had all the amenities one needs for a vacation. The price was exceptional for the value of the accommodations. It was close to shopping and the taverns that we wanted to experience on our trip to Ireland. We were in the best location for walking and seeing the sights. We were able to walk out on abalcony that overlooked the street and out to the water so what more could you ask? A wonderful holiday because of the comfort of The Western City Apartments.

Apartments were spacious, clean and luxurious. Very modern and bright. Decor was wonderful, uptodate and all the comforts of home available. Loved the balcony overlooking the street. We were met at the apartments by a very friendly warm staff lady. She showed us through the apartment and she explained all about what was going in the area at the time, pointing out good places to eat as well as good local bars. She gave us a contact number should we need her. There was also good secure parking for the car. Excellent location in Salthill. Highly recommend this place to friends and family. During my week travelling around Eire, this was the best accommodation Istayed in though one of the Maldron chain in outer Dublin was a closesecond. The large detached house is almost new so facilities but alsofurnishings (huge lcd TVs etc.) were top notch. I had the chalet(apartment around the back) with its lounge and kitchen (if I known thiswould have bought some ice cream). Although slightly outside centralGalway, it was still closer to town than everywhere else I stayed andthe area is very up market so basically here you got the lot,WIFI,parking, new facilities, well lit bathroom, and still walkingdistance to west centre and sea in what for me turned out to be Eire'smost vibrant city. Didn't need modestly priced breakfast so won'tcomment. Only final comment is that with booking.com most bookings arepaid for in advance but not here so if I hadn't handed back keys onleaving could easily have unintentionally left without paying whichwould have been unfortunate:)

My wife and her girl friends stayed at the hotel in feb 2011 and really enjoyed the hotel and location. I stayed there for four nights recently for a gents long weekend and to take in the galway races. We were not disappointed. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly. We were in rooms overlooking the fast flowing river, and although quite noisy we were not kept awake. The breakfast is well worth the money and because it is on until 11am the restaurant was never overcrowed, in fact the opposite. This hotel is exactly what you would should expect for a city break. Great location, clean smart rooms, and exeptional value for money.

Stayed at Jurys Inn Galway on the last night of Race week, the streetsoutside were very busy, but the staff at the hotel didnt look busy andhad time for everybody. The atmosphere in the hotel was very relaxed andfriendly and they had just been through three weeks of festival and allthe madness that goes with it. The rooms at the front of the hotel havea beautiful view of the Spanish Arch and the Atlantic beyond. Howeverthese rooms can be a bit noisy even in the morning time.
