The Hotel was superb but what was particularly memorable was the friendliness of the people of the area, we found everone we met to be very courteous and helpfull, especially in the shops and the staff in the hotel also. We like to also mention a brilliant restaurant/pub where we had ameal on our second night that is our evening meal it was Called the Cloister in Abbey St and the value for money was excellent the food, Gourmet class, with genuine friendly staff who made us feel we were coming home again the welcome was so heart warming. All in all a most enjoyable week-end full of entertainment with all the places we went to from Bunratty Castle and park to the Allwee Caves and the Cliffs of Moher and also the charming little villages we visited on our travells and finished it all off with a drive along the Lough Derg lake on our way back to Cork. I must also mentionJ>P Clarkes Restaurant at Bunratty Casle as it was enlightening to get such fine food and such a pleasant welcome

The staff were incredibly friendly, and couldn,t do enough for me. Themanager kindly brought my luggage from my car to reception when thehotel carpark was full, then arranged for a porter to help me to myroom. Any enquiry I had was met with a wonderful friendly answer, thankyou. Our room was immaculate, and beautiful too. When we read aboutthe history of the "old ground hotel", we decided to have a look aroundand find the famous fireplace! We found it with the help of a young ladwho was tidying up the suite... He was extremly friendly, and told us asmuch history as he could, I was so impressed by his manner, I asked hisname...Conor! A credit to your staff! Thankyou so so much

We stayed at the Old Ground Hotel last year as our last stop beforeflying home to Canada from Shannon and wanted to stay again. When wewere given our room we were very disappointed with it . The room wasvery worn and stained carpets. When we told them our concerns at thedesk they were more than accommodating and immediately moved us toanother room which we were more than happy with,...they said they wantedto make sure our stay was memorable and it was. The staff is outstandingand the hotel is filled with character. The pub the Poets Corner servesgreat food at reasonable prices. It was our best stay in Ireland andwould stay again when we return....would highly recommend

I stayed in the Queens Hotel for 1 night in April with my 12 year olddaughter. The staff were very nice and helpful, giving us localinformation. The stairs in the hotel is in very poor condition, not justold but very dirty, how long would it take to hover! The room was clean, beds quite good but the bathroom was again in poor condition. We decidednot to eat in the hotel, if they couldn t keep the carpets clean whatelse was dirty! The hotel location was great in the centre of Ennis, which is a lovely town. Will visit Ennis again but I will have to thinkabout if I would stay in the Queens Hotel.

We booked a room at a very cheap price, and got our money's worth. Sheena on reception was very friendly and helpful. We were out in Ennis for a friend's farewell party and the location for us was great.

I've never stayed in hostel accommodation previously and decided to take a chance on this occasion. The best compliment I can give is that I will be looking at hostels as our first option in future. As a family we prefer the cheaper no frills approach as we tend not to use the additional facilities offered by hotels. The family room was large with the only furniture being the double bed and bunk beds. The room and en suite bathroom were spotless and everything appeared to be fairly new. Overall, an excellent option for families looking for somewhere cheaper to stay without the frills of a hotel.

My first hostel experience was in Ennis Friday 7th October 2011. Itravel and stay in many excellent hotels. I found our accommodationvery good, clean and spacious. Staff most helpful providing advise, maps etc . Everything on their website is correct except they do notcharge for towels !. Hostel guests were all ages from about 2 years to65 years. Some families, many foreigners and even guests attending awedding in Clare. Marie, Dublin

After spending a week in the Rowan Tree Hostel with 3 Children aged 11 to 17 years, I can only say what a great week. The rooms were clean and spacious with our own bathroom, the kitchen facilities were great, the staff were very helpful and polite and the situation of the hostel with relation to getting around Ennis was perfect and it was very kind on the budget. Will definitely be returning.
