Friendly reception when I arrived at the hotel. My room was very close to the reception, I only had to take a few stairs so that was very positive. For the price I paid (single room) I got a spacious room (room with double bed) with bathroom/shower/toilet in the room. In general it was better than I expected. Continental breakfast was complimentary but it was very good for the price of only 5 EUR. In the morning I never left the hotel with an empty stomach. The person at the reception (not the same person that received me on my arrival) was very friendly when I checked-out. I did not stay in a 'boutique hotel' before but I would certainly do it again.

The hotel is not in the city centre, thus it is quiet at night time. The city centre (Henry Street/O'Connell Street) are in walking distance - it takes about 20 minutes to get there at a leisurely speed. A bus from O'Connell street stops right in front of the hotel and the fare is only 1.65€. The beds are really comfortable and the breakfast is plenty. Everything is very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The location is the only plus point that Charleville Lodge Hotel had going for it and that is only because we were going to Croke Park. The room was dated, had a so-called TV that had one fuzzy channel. No internet even though it says that there is free internet in the rooms. Mould on the bathroom wall and I had to walk down an alley way to get from my car to the reception.
