Having Gill's fish and chips (best in Ireland) with a pint of Murphy'swatching the Queen Mary ii heading out from Cobh from the Bella Vista'sbalcony - magic, breakfast was also very good. Now a word of warningabout hiring cars. Read the terms and conditions very very verycarefully before hiring a Budget rent a car, be prepared for extras, check the car carefully before taking possession and dip the fuel tank.Budget have proven to be the most expensive car hire we have everencountered.

We stayed here for two nights. Location was excellent as we were meeting up with family to go fishing/boating. Staff very friendly and accomodating at all times. It was lovely to see the owner of this business mingling/fishing with guests. Rooms basic but very clean. 3 * rating appropriate for standard of accomodation and prices. Breakfast was lovely.

I didn't enjoy my stay. I had booked well in advance as I knew I would be having surgery that week. While I was in the hospital for the week before my stay I received emails and stressful phone all's from the hotel saying there was a problem with payment. When I said I was in the hospital unwell I was informed that they didn't care. I had to get on to my bank and ask them to contact the hotel to clarify that payment had been taken from my account. The hotel then contacted me to say all was ok. However, on my arrival at hotel I was put through the same stressfull situation, no note nor communication between staff relating to matter had been made. I had booked to recuperate after surgery. I found the stay and dealings with the hotel extremely stressful and unprofessional. Would never recommend hotel to anyone!

The Commodore Hotel, Cobh is a traditional hotel, overlooking Cork Harbour. You could be lucky, like us, and see beautiful Liners floating past your bedroom bedroom so close you feel you could touch them! The town of Cobh, with its amazing Cathedral is on the doorstep. A stroll along the prom is a must and you never know what you might find in its many quaint shops. Despite the wonderful San Fran atmosphere of Cobh with its own Alcatraz in the form of Spike Island, the friendly people, especially the staff in the Commodore of Hotel, is the reason we keep returning.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was useful that therestaurant was open most of the day, so meals could fit in with yourtimetable. The location of the hotel is ideal with stunning views of theHarbour. It is right next door to the Heritage centre and the smallcommuter train to Cork and Mallow. There is no noise from the trains, and apart from the brief sound of the arrival and departure ofoccasional Cruise Liners, it is in a very quiet, yet convenientlocation. The rooms within the Hotel are in good decorative order, although the bathroom was looking a little tired.
Betty  — 25.1.2012.
This was my second time staying here and it is a lovely little friendly hotel with great views and the ocean liners docking alongside. There is no lift which might be a disadvantage for some elderly but with only 2 floors there is little need. Breakfast was good but could do with cranberry juice. Lovely staff and location too.

My partner and I booked a room at the b&b however we were upgraded to aself catering suite in the hotel in the Bella Vista for no extra charge. It was in an excellent location, strolling distance to everything. KevinMurphy was supurb in welcoming us and so were the rest of the staff. Oursuite was amazing, it had floor to ceiling glass looking out over theharbour, absolutely amazing view and a balcony to top it off. Wecouldn't have been more relaxed and struggled to leave the room! Theyhave a lovely quaint and homey bar downstairs which played Irish musicon the Friday night and everyone was served with sandwiches and hotchips! I cannot fault the Bella Vista and wouldn't stay anywhere elsenext time.

I've stayed in The Windsor a few times and just love the atmosphere there. It has that familiar homely feeling and the staff are so friendly and helpful. It is perfectly central, has a great bar and for the solo traveller, you would feel very comfortable there. The rooms have fridges, and a surprising supply of biscuits with the tea/coffee service for a budget hotel. I had a wonderful big breakfast with quality filtered coffee which set me up nciely for my ongoing journey. The vegetarain breakfast went above and beyond that offered by most hotels. When staying in Cork I would definately head for The Windsor again.
Monique  — 9.1.2012.
What I liked about the Windsor Inn was that they serve a real good and tasty breakfast. Soon as they see you downstairs they begin with fixing it and you don't have to wait too long. The people who work at the hotel are nice, they answer your questions and on the last night they called a taxi for us to the airport and we could leave our suitcases for quite a while at the hotel in a safe place until we had to go, and this was after we had checked out already. My compliments for the hotel personnel. We had a good time there.
Anne  — 4.2.2012.
the Windsor Inn was good value for money and the food was excellent. The staff in the hotel and bar were A1. Could not be more friendly and helpful in every way. Iwould certainly stay here again when in Cork.Give us more of this staff in other hotels and Failte Ireland will have no more worries about filling their hotels and guesthouses. As a matter of fact I worked for Failte Ireland and should know what the public want.Good value and service and efficent and friendly staff.
