What a pleasant surprise in a generally underrated region near the Wicklow Mountains! The Old Coach House is an old historic buildung with a lots of charme, warmth, personal touch and attention to the details. Barbara and Michael the hosts have created a very special, personal atmosphere. The lounge with antique sofas and an open fireplace is a very cosy place after a day out in the mountaons, and the breakfast is superb. Staying there is like staying with friends, and the house has a lots of history. (However, if you prefer to stay in a sterile, franchise-style yet boring hotel chain, do not go there.)

What's not to like? From the friendly & warm hospitality of Mick & Barbara to the decor and ambience of the house, I loved it and will definitely return. I liked the presence of pets about the place too...very homely feel. I was sitting outside on the 2nd evening and Mick came over to ask if I would like a complimentary glass of wine. Very nice touch and I gladly accepted. At the Old Coach House they operate an "honesty bar" in the guest lounge, this was good because my friend & I preferred to return to the beautiful lounge for a nightcap & a chat. All in all, possibly the most welcoming & charming guest house ive stayed in to date.

I highly recommend this B&B. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Coach House. The owners, Mitch and Barbara went out of their way to make us feel at home. They gave wonderful advice on places to see while in Ireland, especially Wicklow. I was expecting a package to arrive by mail during my stay, but as luck would have it, it arrived after we left Wicklow. Mitch and Barbara held the package for me for several days and when my friend and I returned to the B&B to retrieve the package, we were greeted as old friends, spending the evening on the back porch drinking wine and chatting with Mitch and Barbara. My friend and I can't say enough about this B&B - it's in a wonderful location, in a stunningly beautiful county, run by an amazing family.
