my husband and I loved this place. the people were very friendly. the food in the restaurant is very good and it has a good icelandic breakfast and a view overlooking the lake. we saw a calf born on our first night. the room is bigger than most icelandic hotels we have been in and the bed was very comfortable. the room is high-ceilinged and paneled in pine. our favorite place.

Lovely large log cabin style room, which was spotlessly clean andvery warm and comfortable. Breakfast was in the Cowshed cafe over theroad where you can see the cows being milked through the glass wall.We also had some evening meals at the Cowshed cafe which weredelicious, I recommend the arctic char! Location was good, Vogar isjust a short drive to all the sights in the lake Myvatn area. Alsovery near Reykjahlid which has a small supermarket, petrol station, tourist info etc.

The best breakfast on our trip, with a nice setting of big windows overlooking the green farm, sheep, and lake. This location is better for seeing the Myvatn attractions than those hotels on the west side of the lake (although only about 10 minutes apart). The log cabins were charming, and the farm setting was nice. For those staying here and want a cheap bite to eat at night, next door is Daddi's Pizza open for dinner only 17:00-21:00 (at least when we were there in September).
